  • Hey guys I got a code P0128 - Coolant Temp Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature. So I changed my thermostat. Although it might have been the Temperature Sensor I had my doubts because the Thermostat has never been changed before.
!!!!!!!!!Make sure that the Engine is cold before working on it!!!!!!!

    Parts Changed with O.E parts
    Thermostat - 90916-A3003

This is an excellent video. Very vivid and articulate in explaining the steps involved. I have a 2005 Camry and am considering changing the thermostat as well as flushing the old coolant out and placing in new coolant. Would have been nice to see you refill the coolant and burping the system in the same video though.

Always test the thermostat in boiling water first,if it works than it’s then your coolant sensor.

The coolant sensor can trigger that code as well.

How did you diagnose that it was thermostat and not the coolant temp sensor which seems to be the major cause of this PO128 error code? Thanks!

If the thermostat is not opening nor closing properly the temperature sensor won't read properly either
If the temperature sensor is not working properly , the needle in the instrument panel won't read anything at all

You are not using the correct coolant. Should be red .

Red is for very old Toyota cars. Pink is the right one.

How did it go refilling the coolant? I heard it was hard to do it without air bubbles
