This is an excellent video. Very vivid and articulate in explaining the steps involved. I have a 2005 Camry and am considering changing the thermostat as well as flushing the old coolant out and placing in new coolant. Would have been nice to see you refill the coolant and burping the system in the same video though.
If the thermostat is not opening nor closing properly the temperature sensor won't read properly either If the temperature sensor is not working properly , the needle in the instrument panel won't read anything at all

The coolant sensor can trigger that code as well.

Aloha and take care
This is an excellent video.
great vid, i did this myself too and wondered why my thermostats didnt look the same, i will order one from dealer, maybe that will match :/
Always test the thermostat in boiling water first,if it works than it’s then your coolant sensor.
On my 2000 camry the replacement thermostat didn't have that button. not sure what the purpose o fthat is
How did it go refilling the coolant? I heard it was hard to do it without air bubbles
It worked out fine and worked for years.

How did you diagnose that it was thermostat and not the coolant temp sensor which seems to be the major cause of this PO128 error code? Thanks!

Perfect

You are not using the correct coolant. Should be red .
Patrick Faul I noticed that too and wondered if I’m using the correct coolant lol
Red is for very old Toyota cars. Pink is the right one.
🤣
