I thought the video was great. Well done. I tried this. I bought the exact minerals. Mixed them exactly the same. Added water. Set up trail cam. Was successful in bringing deer to sight quickly. Only thing is after two weeks sight grew mold everywhere the minerals were. Why?? Once the mold grew no more deer. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong??
Water. I put mine out without the water. Deer eat the dirt with the minerals n salt. The salt sucks in the moisture and the dew from the mornings. The rain will seep it into the ground itself. Make a mineral sight, not a pond! I always make a sight that won't hold so much water and has some drainage.
I never add water. Put it out ahead of rain and you'll be good. If you see mold... Dig it up and chuck it out and add more stock salt or trace. That's what I do. But I've never really had a problem with mold.
1 question you do this so you can hunt them? Makes sense if you want all the nutrients when eating them. I am very new to this just want to understand the reason for it.
you need to put minerals out in the woods in the shade where the ground will stay damp. youre making a dead spot in the field where nothing will grow. and its aggravating to maneuver around or over when working the ground up or planting.
