I made bread sticks using this bread recipe, just brushed the rolled dough with butter and herbs mix and spreaded cheese on top and folded it to cover the filling and made on the pan on the stove. It came out so delicious. Thanku for this recipe

So I made this and it came out well, so excited. First time trying to make bread, just follow the measurements as indicated you are good to go. I didn't have that flat stuff placed on the burner, I placed my pan directly on the burner but on low heat(used the smallest burner in a set of 3) and also increased the time for cooking a bit. Turned out well

So, I tried this. Here are the updates.
    I used 1 cup = 250 ml
    3/4 cup = 180 ml
    Wheat flour instead of Maida
    1 tbsp = 15 ml
    1 tsp = 5 ml
Idea is to keep it all proportionate.
Dough was not as soft as hers, it's still rising.
Cooked it in pan as she showed and instead of iron skillet/tawa, I used a normal non stick pan.
I would say if using wheat flour, cook a bit longer. I cooked 20-25 min and still had some rawness in the middle. Rest all good. Keeping checking during the cooking process. You can try this as it's a simple recipe with less ingredients and almost no kneading. And it was not as fluffy as shown in video. Cheers guys 😘

still it didn't come out well...the dough was so sticky that I couldn't knead it at all. wonder what I did wrong.
My maida flour was cold(i keep it in fridge) do you think that could have made it sticky?

    • @vijaysthalekar
      @vijaysthalekar Год назад

It is because the measurements are wrong. I don't know if people who say the recipe is perfect and it has come out well are actually paid reviews. I don't think they have really tried it. The Hydration shown is close to 65% and not as told in the video which is less than 50%
When using wheat increase the Hydration to 70% and see the difference.

@@justmisslogan Leave the dough inside a cake tin to rise for the second time before baking. Take a big kadai with glass lid so that you can see what's happening and preheat and then put a stand inside the kadai then place on it the cake tin which has the risen dough and bake on low-med heat. I think it will work just the same.

    BREAD IN FRY-PAN
3/4 cup lukewarm water 1/2 tsp rock salt**
2 tbsp sugar 1 tbsp powder milk
2 tsp yeast 1 tbsp olive oil
    2 cups flour*
    1) In a mixing bowl, pour water in & whisk in sugar & salt.
    2) Let covered, for 5m, to activate yeast.
    3) Whisk in flour, powder milk, salt & oil.
    4) Mix to make a soft dough.
    5) Drizzle some oil, cover & leave in warm place for 1 hour to rise.
    6) On a floured surface, knead dough for 2 more minutes.
    7) Brush fry pan with olive oil, place dough in, and let rise covered for 15m.
    8) Brush dough with milk and scatter sesame seeds on top.
    9) Turn on cooker at low-medium & preheat a tawa for 5-7 minutes.
    10) Place fry pan on tawa & cook, covered, for 10 minutes.
    11) Flip bread & cook covered for another 5 minutes.
    12) Turn off heat, cover bread with tea-towel and let cool down.
*Mix half plain half wholemeal flours, if you prefer.
**Avoid sea salt. It contains microplastics.

U can make yeast at home by this method
      ruclips.net/video/Fm_HVagFdiU/видео.html
But you have to wait for atleast 3-4 hours for the dough to double...not one hour as shown in video with commercial yeast.
I made pizza dough by using that homemade yeast.
