Yes after a great start by Majid Khan it was Asif Iqbal who kept the hopes alive with a fighting half century and at 181 for 4 Pakistan had a good chance of winning until Dennis Lillie bowled Asif and Pakistan collapsed.. I listened to the commentary as a school boy. Nostalgic memories

In both 1975 and 1979 World cup Pak team lost the match after coming so close to victory, perhaps some wrong decision of team captain and a bit of hard luck

Terrific footage from all those years ago.
Some great players in both sides, many of whom played in WSC only a bit over 2years later.
Cricket as it was played 50 or so years ago, opponents applauding batsmen reaching 50...unheard of these days.
The great D K Lillee showing how it's done.
Àll dressed in whites,no advertising on ground, plain and unadorned timber stumps, regular sized bats...the game has changed so much,as society has.
    Thanks for the upload 😁👍

An eerie omen of the future at 13:35 - 13:41 with Alan Turner, Jeff Thomson and Zaheer Abbas all involved in a catch off an attempted pull shot near mid on. 18 months later Thomson would collide with Turner near mid on attempting to catch Zaheer also off an attempted pull shot, dislocating his shoulder and he would never be the same bowler again.

278 was a very big score in those days. Majid and Asif both batted brilliantly but Lillie's dismissal of Asif was the turning point And further more Australian bowling was at that time the strongest in the world. I listened to live commentary of the match Majid payed a most elegant innings of 65 and after Asif took charge and with good support by Raja they added 77 in very quick time before at 181 for 4 Lillie bowled Asif for a dashing 53 and after losing the captain Pakistan just panicked and Lillie and Walker were too good for lower order batsmen

Majid Khan and Asif Iqbal both batted brilliantly but Lillie dismissed Asif who was going great and Pakistan after that just crumbled.
