Great branch selection. Very thought out. I’d have to put markers in the soil so I could remember all my plans when it’s time to repot. So glad you posted this. Ive a plan to cut back my ficus over this long weekend, and repot around solstice. Just wasn’t sure if this was a good idea or not. Thank you for posting
That is a cool log. Can you make a nice dry stream bed running from the back of the log to the drop off of the log, like a waterfall run off. Just a thought.
Dave I like your work, thanks for the videos and updates. My questions, is the Ficus Benjamina and the Americana the same tree. If not can you tell me the difference between the two. Thank you loyal follower.
Deb, that's a good question. There are over 8000 species of ficus, so they are hard to identify sometimes. According to my research they are both members of the Kingdom Plantae, and Family Moraceae. Online, it says there are over 750 species of the Americano, so very hard to tell. Although in the Synonym section of my info, it doesn't list Benhjamina as a synonym for Americano. Wish I could tell you for certain.
Funny intro Dave! Those Ficus have really grown!
Glad you enjoyed. The things most don’t see! I’ve always thought of doing a year in review misfire addition.
@@DavesBonsai That would be fun to watch!!
Cool work my friend !
Nice pruning on these Ficus. Nice little tutorial with the surgical hands of Dr. Dave.

Nice color on the trunks. Almost like the color of a paper birch. Cool.

That forest is looking great! 😍

That forest looks very nice. Is it just me or is the bark unusually light in colour?
Yes, these variegated have always had that lighter color.

Do the variegated grow slower and are a little less vigorous?
Yes, from my experience. Some species might not do that, but my trees have shown that. My ficus and Ming Aralia.
Difficult follow this one. Cut this, cut that, no explantion, zip, zip zip.
Sorry about that. I mix it up from time to time. But do realize not everyone likes that style.
FICUS FOIST
That was crazy Fast Ficus Foist
