Yeah...overly priced due to the import tax huge markup. And the older 2nd hand bikes are expensive too. But, if you want to ride around in this traffic here....go for it. Harley's meant for cruzin, not this traffic. I see the occassional bike around, but not too many. Anyway, cheers for the video mate. Good info as always. 😁😎

Nice video Rod, I need to check it out when I'm back in Cebu. There was a good size group of Harley riders in Medellin for a riding event there, there's a nice road there called the Aisle of Medellin, it's popular with some of the motorcycle clubs.
I laughed about the loud music comment, my fiancée turns the tv volume on high for no reason, maybe to drown out the noisy roosters!

    Thanks 😊
I got a Harley Sprint when I was thirteen and I bought a xlch when I was seventeen..the Harley Davidson owner and mechanic was a friend of my dads..the mechanic punched out my XLCH and put Chevy pistons and re done the valves and put a racing cam in it.. nobody had electric starters back then and the foot crank would throw me over the handlebars regularly..hehe..the cops were friends of my dad and they clocked my bike at 154mph..that was fast back in the sixties..I can't remember what the quarter mile time was..I also raced flat track with the 250cc Sprint..I had a few minor accidents while racing but never had a serious road accident.. couple of my buddies got killed riding on the highway because of other people's carelessness..I quit riding when I was thirty eight..that's my story and I am sticking to it..hehe😁🤔🤗. Thanks for the video..I never get tired of looking at motorcycles, cars and beautiful women.. hehehe

I respectfully disagree about the quality, they are way over priced and or hyped. They are a status symbol for most people. The parts are expensive and maintenance is over priced. Very nice Rod, there is a huge following of Harley Davidson bikes here in NZ. Though i must admit, of the many different models i have owned over my long life, i preferred Honda of which i have had several larger bikes. During my early years with the Govt. Traffic Department, i was issued initially with a used AJS 650 twin and later it was replaced with a brand new Triumph Thunderbird, also a 650 twin, which i found to be far superior to the AJS, in performance and handling. Thanks for this look around Rod.

1-what useful documents would you recommend one carry in our wallet at all times in the Philippines... lawyers business card, cash money, or insurance card?
2-if after a serious accident in the Philippines one is taken to the hospital unconscious and unable to talk; how can one then get the medical treatment that he needs if we have to pay upfront first?
3-is it true that you need someone to bring you food while you are in the hospital?...what do you do if you live alone, and don't have anybody?
4-what travel medical insurance do you recommend?

Good questions Fernando. You might want to carry a copy of your passport with the latest extension. Money at the hospital is a major problem here. I know of my partners coworker who died of stroke apparently. Was taken from work to a near by hospital. They wouldn't admit this Filipino without some payment of 9500 pesos the employer arranged delivered.

I love motorcycles and owned a Ducati monster. But really no reason to own anything bigger than 150cc in the Philippines. Cities too busy and not a lot of open clear roads. Even out in Province. Plus you pay up big time for a bike like a Harley in the Philippines even though most larger Harley’s are built in US they now have manufacturing outside the US in India and soon in Thailand. But must have been cool to see them in the showroom there.

Whether brand-new or used, purchased or donated, the imported vehicle is subject to 40% Customs duty, 10% VAT and Ad Valorem Tax from 15% to 100% depending on its piston displacement. Its book value serves as the tax and not the purchase price nor the acquisition cost. That's where the "over the top price" comes from.
