Well done Ollie so satisfying when the pull over 👍
Thank you great video, something I like to have when digging up stumps with a mini excavator is some 6-12" pruning blades for a Sawzall/ reciprocating saw, that seems to speed up the process on some of those stubborn roots. I appreciate you taking the time to make this video!
Nice video Ollie! Ripping stumps is definitely one of my favourite jobs
Your 8026 is a smart looking machine, you keep it looking mint. Great advice about using the ripper.
Thanks I do my best. Its got a couple of marks on it now that I need to touch up over Christmas, but I try not to scratch it if I can help it.
Good job. I have ripped out a few roots with my Yanmar 36-6 for homeowners. One had a tree company take down a tree then ground the root. They didn't grind it down enough as I was regrading and re sodding the yard. I ended up digging out a massive root that the arborist left behind and only ground down to existing sod.
Nice Job Ollie Thanks again
Hi Ollie, Thanks for making these videos. Can you explain what the initials "CW" mean? It is usually shown when looking at buckets and other attachments and usually is something like CW00, CW05, CW10, etc. I really cannot find what it refers to, or what the numbers mean. I am in the process of buying a Yanmar B25V-A from 2011 and would like to add a couple of attachments like the ripper and rake you have shown and get the feeling I need to understand this term. Many thanks.
I have an RSL engineering ripper tooth for my little 1.5 ton Kubota KX36-3 and on the back of the ripper it has a root saw , so once you have found the roots you can curl the tooth and saw the roots then pull the stump out
I’ve seen them but not used one. Looks a good design
whats the trade name of the saw?
Good informative post Olly, still hate stumps though.
Great video Gunns!, Can you make av video about the track pads and types. thank!
How do you mean? For metal tracks?
@@Olliegunns Sorry I meant the ground protection. Are they most useful during rainy period or all around.
Hi Ollie,
Great video on using the ripping hook, are you OK if I put a link to it on my website? Thanks
Thanks, sure, go ahead. All shares are welcome. Just trying to help people out, wish someone had done the same for me rather than learning the hard way.
@@Olliegunns Thanks 🙂
Hi Ollie cant quite see from the video, does your setup have twin hitches or direct mount?
I’ve got a manual top hitch.
@@Olliegunns ok thanks👍
Have you ever seen the Wurzelratte? Its like a blade for chipping stumps with a digger...
Yes, do they go on the bottom of auger drive units? Its an interesting idea but must leave a lot still in the ground as it will only grind the main stump down?
@Olliegunns No, it is more like an L shape that is sharpened and just goes on the quick connect... You tear chunks out of the stump till its gone.
@@TheGrizzlyBeerOh ok, like a super sharp knife?
@Olliegunns Kind of...
Rippertooth stump knife thingy...
There are a lot of videos about it on RUclips
You are using the same mats as the French Drain Man!
These track mats are really good. Much better than plywood I used to use and last forever.
would it not be cleaner to use a stump spliter or planer ollie
problem with grinding is that you have to remove all that woody dirt and replace it or you end up with a big dead spot.
You are right, it would, but in this lawn they didn't want a sink hole in a few years time exactly as @villageearthwright has said.
nice one thanks for replying love your vlogs @@Olliegunns
I think it is better to dig them out than grind and hide
I've had them create sink holes after a few years as the wood rots which isn't ideal in a lawn. We had a digger, so we took it out!
great video, how many track mats do you have, just notice your just using 3 here
25, and they are the ones that can take a lorry. I have the clips to put them all together if needed too
