I can't wait for Willow and Ash to visit Orion on a side quest day! I love the lore behind the basement being a teen hangout with an easy escape route.
I LOVE the Carebear sweatshirt! I also LOVE LOVE LOVE this house. You really stuck to the craftsman aesthetic. Your concern for the Michaelsons is also admirable 🥰
I love the living area connected to other spaces through the wooden archways, it feels really spacious but cozy at the same time. It is also nice that you pay attention to building with a practical gameplay thinking. I probably say it in every video but I really like how cohesive and creative it turned out, so many details that I love.
That basement area in 5:44 reminds me of a sort of mafia hangout almost back in the old 60’s. You got old furniture with an old tv and a little table where mafia members play cards and gamble and such. The old room seems like a torture room where mafia members take the people who double cross them or mess with them and they take them back there to handle business. The way to really turn it like that, would be adding cracks and everything in that room with a single lonely chair in the middle of the room
Love this house! Id like to think they got a good deal on getting all the bathrooms renovated at once and that’s why the basement one is so nice haha! 😂
I live in an area with tons and tons of craftsman houses. Most of those open archways include either accordion doors or other types of pocket doors so they can be closed up if needed.
I would also love to see a split level build! Most homes in my area are a split level & built into the hills (nothing is flat here). So that the lower level/ basement is half at ground level & the other half is underground.
I think split-level houses are so cool, but in the Sims it seems like they're really hard to pull off. For example, I don't think you can have a foundation.
THE HOODIE?! Amazing Edit: the house came out really great (as always)! I love Craftsman homes. I feel like this pack, Seasons and Cats and Dogs BB work so well together. The gaming/rumpus room was a great touch
Honestly, my childhood bedroom was exactly like the pink bedroom with that weird nook in the corner, and we found a dresser to fit perfectly. Builders make weird decisions in real life too! haha. Love it!
For Greenhouses the open window concept is to control humidity. You don’t want it to get too humid for the plants but you also don’t want the humidity to go down too much. It also allows bees to enter and help pollinate plants ☺️.
Love this build and it seems very player friendly. So many creators use move objects so much the lot is choppy and super glitchy. Thank you for sharing!!!
My grandparents had a craftsman style Sears and Roebuck house. The interior for the second story is extreamly authentic feeling..... and now i miss my grandparents.
4:00 I was like "why would anyone have a bathroom in the basement?" I immediately remembered that I have bathroom in the basement, I just don't use it 😂
The older TV in the basement feels very accurate to me. When I was a preteen/teen, my siblings and I had a "hangout" space in the attic with lots of games and an old TV to play video games on. When my parents upgraded the TV in the living room, they just gave us the old TV to play games on and I feel that vibe in this house...
At about 6:44 James solved my hate of the concrete lines! I had no idea that rotating the tile multiple time will help with the lines in the concrete. Thanks James!
A nice build video is just what I need, we are in a wildfire zone just outside of the evac zone with some family from in the zone staying with us and have been for 5 days now, we spent the first few days seriously concerned we may have to evac as well. Currently we are completely safe and if they can get these hotspots dealt with before the weather warms back up and gets windy again we should remain safe but still a stressful time
I am not a fan of attics or basements because it is harder to keep up with sims on more than two floors. Basements tend to be more usable for living spaces, even in real life (usually where laundry is kept, hot water heaters, additional storage and even finished secondary living spaces), where attics are just for storing old knick knacks, bits and bobs, and Holiday decor usually. for them to function as livable spaces in TS4, either you have to build another floor to get the lighting right, which doesn't always work, or things clip weird / you have to play with all walls down on that floor, which I usually stick with cut away or wall up view. I get frustrated by this, wanting to recreate New England homes, which usually feature upstairs bedroom areas with big slanty ceilings (usually no attic space, but rather a crawl space might exist).
right every time i see the TF im reminded that we all really do live on the same planet and have common interests.. (edited to say: family..family...family..)
You mentioning how weird it would be to have 5 bathrooms reminded me of our first house, which had 5 toilets lol. A jack-and-jill setup, a guest bathroom, a master bathroom, and a toilet in the laundry room (???). Everybody can poop at the same time!
As much as I love the Growing Together LP (esp the chaos & the voice/personality you give Krista), I've missed your build videos 💜 love how this came out James!! Xx
A lot of people wonder why the Sims team won't give us the real version of the Sims 1 heart bed, I'm fully convinced it's because they fear what the modders would do with a vibrating bed 🤣 This one's a fun build, I love that wood color swatch, can't go wrong with it.
I don't know if anyone has said this yet, but that disassembled bed is a nod to the one and only vibrating woohoo bed in the sims 1! Ridiculous price tho.
When I had a wall mounted basketball hoop on my lot, my sims would always stop painting (even though it's not done) and try use the basketball hoop. I had to get rid of it because I kept having to lock the doors so they keep painting, so annoying lol
I love the way James furnishes! it's so cozy and reminds me of older American family houses. also, a wardrobe in the basement next to the mattress (flirty decor) would be perfect ;D
Imagine this: the basement is grandmas who has to live with her family because of her dementia. From time to time she escapes through the window & wanders the town stealing random items 😂 hence the junk down there! James please take this idea & run with it
James should try a 'Tyneside Flat' build (Newcastle UK) ... upstairs, I live in one now (4 beds 1.5 bath), although 2 bedrooms are in the roof, and downstairs is 2 bed 1 bath. We "share" the back yard between the two (I have stairs down) and have separate gates. 2x front entrances too (they have a little space outside for the downstairs flat, I have a walled/fenced walkway
I think the family got a massive upgrade, honestly. Also, I don’t know if it’s a thing with the craftsman style house, but lately James has been enjoying putting garages with fake cars inside, I wonder if he knows something we don’t 🤔
Love the flirty mold room 😂 fortunately there is a shower just in the next room in case it puts sims in the mood 😂
FLIRTY MOLD ROOM- I can't stop laughing omfg
Absolute w of a hoodie
It's that Teddy Fresh 🔥
100%
I can't wait for Willow and Ash to visit Orion on a side quest day! I love the lore behind the basement being a teen hangout with an easy escape route.
James: "It's not the neatest to have a flower arranging table next to the outdoor dining space"
Deli: Has flower arranging table in the kitchen 😂
If it is a greenhouse kit, you'd want to open screen windows to let pollinators to help cut down on hand pollination.
I LOVE the Carebear sweatshirt! I also LOVE LOVE LOVE this house. You really stuck to the craftsman aesthetic. Your concern for the Michaelsons is also admirable 🥰
Same! Awesome hoodie and awesome house build!! 😊💖
teddy fresh always for the w 💟
same!
Okay, where did you get that Care Bears sweatshirt?!
@@OnslaughtSister it's from one of collections from Teddy Fresh.

The downstairs is very reminiscent of the older build styles where they aimed for a more open concept but still keeping separate spaces.
Thank you for sharing the views in first person mode, as always; that is one of my favorite ways to look at builds and appreciate them.
same!
Would you do a split level? I feel like it's extremely hard to do it in the sims accurately but I think you could figure out how to tackle it.
I would also love to see a split level build! Most homes in my area are a split level & built into the hills (nothing is flat here). So that the lower level/ basement is half at ground level & the other half is underground.
I live in a split level and have tried building it. It was so hard I ended up not being able to get it to work. I think James could figure it out tho
I think split-level houses are so cool, but in the Sims it seems like they're really hard to pull off. For example, I don't think you can have a foundation.
12:04 James has been putting in a lot of garages lately 🤔 working on a cars pack with the Sims team??
THE HOODIE?! Amazing

The flirty bed just made my heart warm, if your a sims 1 player you will know why
I was looking for this comment
Omg! you just made me remember. That's such a good detail

@JAMESTURNERREWARD Dude, we know you’re not really James.
Love this build and it seems very player friendly. So many creators use move objects so much the lot is choppy and super glitchy. Thank you for sharing!!!
Another incredible build. This house definitely feels like a home.
My grandparents had a craftsman style Sears and Roebuck house. The interior for the second story is extreamly authentic feeling..... and now i miss my grandparents.
Was looking for a non-LP Sims vid, so this came at just the right time. Looks great! I love the open-yet-closed downstairs. It works really well.
4:00 I was like "why would anyone have a bathroom in the basement?" I immediately remembered that I have bathroom in the basement, I just don't use it 😂
James never fails us with his buildings!
It's awesome as usual
The older TV in the basement feels very accurate to me. When I was a preteen/teen, my siblings and I had a "hangout" space in the attic with lots of games and an old TV to play video games on. When my parents upgraded the TV in the living room, they just gave us the old TV to play games on and I feel that vibe in this house...
Love the build. I have NEVER heard Anyone Say the Build and Furnish with the Player's View in Mind. I like this Guy.💯
When James started building the basement, I had visions of That 70s show. Love this build very cozy and comfy.
At about 6:44 James solved my hate of the concrete lines! I had no idea that rotating the tile multiple time will help with the lines in the concrete. Thanks James!
It's a really good build, James. BTW curtains just add enviroment score to a room. And I agree that having a screen window that's open seems strange.
'I'm not sure why I'm into basketball hoops atm...?'
Because somebody told you about Dream Big and how OP it is, James 🤣
Such a nice house! I think it would be really fun to have Willow and Ash invite themselves over for a sleepover!
A nice build video is just what I need, we are in a wildfire zone just outside of the evac zone with some family from in the zone staying with us and have been for 5 days now, we spent the first few days seriously concerned we may have to evac as well. 19:15 Imagine being the Robles and moving next door to the family that kicked them out… and then watching them from the fire pit 😂😂
Basement bedroom that actually qualifies as a bedroom according to real-life building codes?! I’m honestly impressed.
Im really glad you uploaded a video today. Your videos are soothing and wholesome and I need that! Also cute house!
I like the new basement kit because some of the items can be used in places other than the basement. How come I don't see people making attics?
My first thought was to build an attic tbh 😊💖
I do in some builds. Usually I'll put holiday decor in them and lock the door. When the holiday comes around I pull the stuff from there.

Love when you wear Teddy Fresh, two of my fave RUclips channels crossing over! Your builds are always on point James
right every time i see the TF im reminded that we all really do live on the same planet and have common interests.. (edited to say: family..family...family..)
Family, family, family, family
FAMILY. FAMILY. FAMILY.
family family family
What is teddy fresh?
Oh my god! I'm pretty sure I've been in that basement . It's given '90s childhood vibes, especially with those wood toys
You mentioning how weird it would be to have 5 bathrooms reminded me of our first house, which had 5 toilets lol. A jack-and-jill setup, a guest bathroom, a master bathroom, and a toilet in the laundry room (???). Everybody can poop at the same time!
That sounds like a dream
the office room by the kitchen would also make a great laundry room!
I absolutely love this house. One of my favorites you've ever done! Really enjoying the Let's Play, too!
I like how realistic this house is!
Growing Together would have been the perfect pack for pocket doors. They fit with the craftsman style and open look like fancy archways.
As much as I love the Growing Together LP (esp the chaos & the voice/personality you give Krista), I've missed your build videos 💜 love how this came out James!! Xx
The basement wells are so clever!
More generational!!!! please! I get so excited seeing your notifications and have binged your generations and now my sons have also.
Those archways are awesome and I love the first floor so much!
This was a really cool build!!
It wouls of been interesting, if they would of made it so that you can put that heart bed together. 😅
A lot of people wonder why the Sims team won't give us the real version of the Sims 1 heart bed, I'm fully convinced it's because they fear what the modders would do with a vibrating bed 🤣
This one's a fun build, I love that wood color swatch, can't go wrong with it.
I love the escape windows in the basement!
I also often don't bother putting curtains up. 🤷🏻♀️
That basement makes me think of the 70's Show and that table could be perfect for their Mary Jane activities.
Beautiful house build. 🤗🤗
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels the need to fix up the homes for my non-played sims.😂
haven’t finished the video yet but your builds are always amazing james!
Just the video I need to end the day. Can’t wait for the next lp!
I grew up in a craftsman style house and ours had an odd shaped kitchen like this one... it brought back memories!
This is such a beautiful build, James!
Lovely build!
I can imagine one of the sims going down to the unfinished basement room to sit on the old armchair and watch the old tv. 😂
I really love how it turned out!
This house is amazing!
I love this house! Your let’s play and the builds really make me want to get Growing Together and maybe even the kits
Me too!
Love this house!
The disassemble bed is actually also from sims 1, the only bed in which you could woohoo in🤫🤫 😌😌 love it
Hoodie's so cuteee!!
Dismantled Sims 1 love bed .... Bringing nostalgia back
I love the way James furnishes! it's so cozy and reminds me of older American family houses. also, a wardrobe in the basement next to the mattress (flirty decor) would be perfect ;D
I love this. I think it's one of my favorites overall.
awesome build love it!
Love the hoodie.
Cute!
Imagine this: the basement is grandmas who has to live with her family because of her dementia. From time to time she escapes through the window & wanders the town stealing random items 😂 hence the junk down there! James please take this idea & run with it
Omg the rubber plant in the basement! So nostalgic ❤
Love it. Your builds are always great.
Honestly it has big McMansion vibes :D
Not having much of a yard is very common for large houses in the US built after 2000. 😅 So the house fits with the lot in that case.
If you remove one of the walls and then put the window back on it'll give you outdoor lighting. Not necessary obviously, but I liked it for sun rooms.
Very nice, a little quirky in parts but homey at the same time.
The screened in patio would make a great catio
I think the family got a massive upgrade, honestly. Also, I don’t know if it’s a thing with the craftsman style house, but lately James has been enjoying putting garages with fake cars inside, I wonder if he knows something we don’t 🤔
This world has a lot of driveways, so I'm just going with that haha
love the teddy fresh hoodie and the build. FAMILY
I really needed a new home for my current sims so James to the rescue once again!
Yay! Always excited for a new James video!
Ohhhh I see it! It is very cozy! Especially when you look at it from the first pov
This house just looks so good james ❤
That brick on the outside is BEST
i call that room you built with the screens a screenhouse. we love them in my family. i will definitely have a screenhouse on my home one day :)
Cool basement fire escape.
this home gives me strong Sims 3 vibes for some reason
The basement reminds me of that 70s show and the hangout they had in that show!
That’s not any old heart shaped bed, that’s the bed from the sims 1 that you could “vibrate” in 😂😂
this house feels so homey :)
Love the teddy fresh hoodie🐻
i've never been this early for a video! was just sat staring at my youtube feed hoping for someone to post something interesting and then you did!!! 🙏
The office would do well as a guest bedroom.
Never would imagine James would wear a Care Bears hoodie! Omg what yas
I’ve seen Deli use a Care Bear mug before
