- This video is dedicated to the rabbit 🐰 Gullis 8 years old, who died during editing this video. She gets me to remember why I'm upcycling computers. It's not all about new tech, it's also about repairing and upgrading. Not far away from here we have the Baltic Sea, one of the most polluted oceans of the Earth. Across the Sea it's a war. I have for a long time ago decided to do what I can do to contribute for a greener and better future. It's more important then earning money. For Gullis ❤️ and Earth 🌎!

What motherboard does it contain?
Excuse me, may I know the model of this HP motherboard please? It is very important as mine I found in the scrap yard and its model number is "hp fx-isb-8x-3" I downloaded its PDF from HP and the maximum RAM upgrade stated is 8GB (4GBx2) can you confirm it it can run 16GB DDR3 (8GBx2) before I buy RAM from ebay? thank you please reply ASAP
Sorry for late answer. It should work. But I can't promise anything. It's rare with only support for 2*4GB.

@@adithsreekanth3804 up to RTX3000 series should work @PCIE 3.0 . . I don't know about RTX4000 series though

Yes you can easily change the CPU. Most of the seller knows this, but some maybe thinks it's not possible. Just Google any prefabricated PC + CPU Support and you will see. If you want to use a motherboard with a common ATX PSU you have to check if it's a 24 pin cable support else you need an adapter. Other cables: CPU 12 Volt and sometimes a temp sensor cable. @@HardQare Actually i got this pc for free and i wonder can go inside i7 4770 processor since is in there Pentium dual core one, i have PSU adapter from HP 8200 model, ill check if will fit this motherboard, i get those adapters from aliexpress and worket perfect on HP 8200 tower with i7 inside.
So you are sure that i can put i7 4700 procesor in this model of PC?

The chipset rules the most. Of course it's possible for HP etc to lock out some CPU and microcode, mostly with HP workstations. If it doesn't work for you, then switch back and test another bios. But I whould be very surprised if 4770 doesn't work for you. HP call the form factor for sff even if it's common micro-ATX. The only thing that is small is the Power Supply. You can use any PSU and any ATX /mATX case.
@@HardQare oh i see, that is great, sorry to bother you, is it possible tu put inside I7 4790 maybe? i see that Intel® H81 Express chipset support up to that processor but im not sure is HP 280 G1 have any limits? :(
I would better put that processor if is possible, its so cheap to buy used one here in Croatia.

You will have no use of K-version oc functionality, since you can't unlock anything with HP bios, they will run as any i7 with spec frequency. Some CPUs is possible to unlock with software, but maybe more common to do with some xeon and chipset X99 socket 2011-3 or socket 1366.
I have not had any problems with CPU upgrades as long as it's a desktop and not a workstation. So do your upgrade! :)
