Omg, I was insanely obsessed with Stardew Valley for months when it came to Switch. It was not funny the way I wanted to play the game at work, on the toilet, in the car…things slowed down only after I unlocked everything on my farm and largely optimized its automation.

I tried Stardew Valley on Switch when there was a free trial available. 10 minutes in, I just shut the game down and deleted it. I couldn't handle the accelerated time and the overwhelming amount of things to do. There's a reason why games like Animal Crossing, which flow in real time, adapt better to my day to day life.

Chicory A Colorful Tale is super cozy and very heartfelt. Coloring in the world as you go like a coloring book. The story is very emotional and can resonate with a lot of people.

Would also recommend VA-11 Hall-A to anyone who liked Coffee Talk. Similar setup, but you’re a bartender making cocktails in a dystopian cyberpunk bar.
I would also place Yonder on this list. No combat, just a pretty world to explore, quests to finish to help other people and and stuff like fishing and farming!
Absolutely criminal to miss out in the BEST cozy game on the Switch: Art Of Balance! This is my personal 5th most played game on the Switch with 120 hours in. It has THE MOST relaxing music to enjoy while you simply stack pieces to solve very chill puzzles. Whoever has not tried this game at Nintendo Life should do so immediately. It is amazing.
Also, I want to say that Captain Toad is cozy for the most part, but the last level "Mummy-Me Maze Forever" is the HARDEST, most gruelling, least relaxing level in ANY Mario game. I have beaten Champion's Road in Super Mario 3D World with all the characters, but I cannot finish Mummy-Me Maze Forever no matter how many times I try. I have over 15 hours on that level alone and still haven't finished it. The level really soured my feelings on the game, which I initially loved, but now have decidedly bitter feelings about. I wish they would have put the amiibo functionality in that level so I could have super star power throughout just so I can finish the game.
But yeah, go play Art Of Balance and tell me that's top shelf cozy material!

Dragon Quest Builders 1 and 2 always felt really cozy to me! Part of that's probably nostalgia, since I grew up with Dragon Quest, but it's also just colorful and fun.
Spiritfarer is such a gem! One of my favorites in Tiny Lands, a very simple 3d spot the difference game.
Suprised kirby and the forgotten land made the list. The bonus world that unlocks after you beat the game is the opposite of cozy 😳
I get made fun of'd though when I reccomend the game to everybody and call it a "god teir" switch game. It really is in that batch of best of switch games and might be the best kirby game made 👌
I had the same thought, of the hallway escape at the end... but it really is one of the best games you can get, with post game that feels like a paid dlc, but it's just there. And as a bonus, not a single update, you can play it all with version 1.0 on the cartridge
Kirby and the Forgotten Land is the BIGGEST and one of the BEST Kirby games of all time after Triple Deluxe and Robobot Planet it looks so good and have interesting story and the other game in this list is Snufkin Melody of Moominvalley is the BEST Cozy game on Nintendo Switch defienitily as a finnish who LOVES Moomin it was so nice to see there came Moomin game for Switch in this year and because I've never played Moomin games on PC as a kid so Snufkin game was my first ever played Moomin game and it's in my GOTY 2024 list I LOVE it that much! 😊❤
Breath of the Wild & TOTK are my favorite cozy games personally. You can freely go as slow as you want and just listen to the ambience. Just wish they’d let us sit or fish.
It makes me both happy and sad that I've played almost every game on this list. It's a fantastic list full of experiences I wish I could have for the first time again
Playing Spiritfarer now with my kid and it’s a lovely game. First game to nearly make me cry.
I recommend Haven Park. It gets overlooked a little due to comparison with A Short Hike but it is worth getting.

A Highland Song, Stitch, Road 96 and Lake are all great cozy games too
The last I heard, Lake runs TERRIBLY on the Switch. Which is too bad, because I’d love to play it.
@kmbehrens14 I can't lie, it was a challenging experience on the switch for sure. But definitely a nice, cozy experience if you can check it out another way.

It's not a recent release, but I really enjoyed New Super Lucky's Tale from Playful Studios.
Dark Souls, Doom, Doom Ethernal, Hollow Knight, Celesete (especially casette levels and post game stuff), Cuphead, Ghost and Goblins Resurrected, Ikaruga, Darkest Dungeon. These games are very cozy. Also super mario maker 2 have some cozy levels. For example "World 1-1 with twist" is super cozy.

I’m glad you find these games “cozy”, but I think most people would not agree.
Spirit Farer is a great game that I don't recommend on Switch. It is hampered by permormance issues and crashes. I had to buy it on PC and start over after helping my fourth spirit. The game would just constantly crash after that and I could no longer progress any futher. And its not my Switch as I have never had this issue with any other game, including larger and more intesive titles such as TotK.
Just played through the whole game for the first time this summer, and it was on my Switch. I put about 50 hours into it. Experienced no crashes, and very minor performance issues. Loved being able to play it in handheld mode while watching my favorite shows :)
It should be noted that I have a Switch OLED that's not even two years old yet. Maybe that made a difference?
I played it back of 2020 on the Lite and had no problems. But I know its had a lot of additional content since then so I wonder if that has affected it
@@benhmedia Could be. I have a launch model switch. Its definitely showing its age, but mainly only in battery life. While I reguarly clean it of any dust buildup, I have never applied new thermal paste which could be an issue.
Honestly though, the handheld play of this game is really appealing. Might try the game again on the Switch successor if its backwards compatable.
@@erinsmith4416 I remember finding a reddit forum of people trying to figure out crashes on switch, so I don't believe I was the only one to experience this. Though it it could be an issue exclusive to launch model Switches (maybe lower memory or cpu clock). I just chalked it up to either a memory leak or somehow my save got corrupted. I'll definitely consider returning to it on the new console if it is backwards compatable.
Also check out Townscaper, possibly the cosiest citybuilder game ever, and Here Comes Niko!, a platform game explicitly made for tired people who don't want stress.

No, you can accomplish everything yourself now although it takes years to collect every single item and recipe (unless you time travel).
You can mostly do it solo! But if you want all the fruit I think you need friends. Depends how bothered you are by that. I've played since 2020 and only just visited someone this week!

For someone who literally is so burnt out on all games ( and have only really played animal crossing and cozy grove ) what is a good recommendation?? 😫 I would love animal crossing if I had better WiFi so I could go to treasure islands. I like decorating, but I don’t like having to find all my own materials… hints as to why I’ve only played cozy grove for a total of 5 hours. Help!!! 😫 I want a new game so bad but I don’t like any games that much anymore!
