- Dragon's Dogma 2's Trickster is one of the most unique classes ever seen in an open world action RPG. It's a support vocation that fights by literally tricking its foes into careening off ledges, or leaping straight into traps, or by powering up its party of AI controlled pawns. Find out more in our Dragon's Dogma 2 Trickster Vocation Breakdown.

That's great until you realize all those goblin horns and hunks of ore are now at the bottom of the cliff.
Probably have to weigh out if it’s worth the reward to kill them in actual combat
@@ziiiiiiii754 As a warrior/fighter main, everything in my path will die regardless of worth.
Flashbacks intensifies
Much prefer this format where you talk over the gameplay and explain things about it.
Shut up
totally agree. would appreciate a voice over for the extended gameplay video posted last week too.
Agreed
Yeah, I’ll never understand why they thought those “IGN First” videos that just showed 5-15 minutes of raw gameplay would appeal to anyone. If anything, they turned more people off a game than making it seem appealing.
This is sarcasm right?
capcom once again proving that they are GODS at making spell/spell casting animations look badass
My favorite developer besides rockstar
Facts
Indeed
Love the creativity with this class!
If you can mix this with the duel blades it would make a nice assassin class almost like loki
@@julianmorgan79 theres no mixing in this game
@@julianmorgan79 no
looks completely useless. how is this effective against boss type enemies? griffins and dragons can fly
@@exiledhebrew1994 These skills likely affect bosses as well, and even if they don't, there are many more skills than the ones showcased here.
My most anticipated game

Bought the original game on launch, and on 3 different systems. Been waiting a long time for this!

Would love to see a deeper dive on the mage and sorcerer and the new spells/skills they possess
Buy the game or just watch gameplay from the first game it literally will play identical most likely
That's not really a satisfying answer, yes it will be similar but this is still a sequel, nothing wrong with wanting more details. I've played the first game and also want more details @aaronvasseur6559
@@aaronvasseur6559what a dorky response
@aaronvasseur6559 It's not an available vocation in the first game.
@@NoxL0wthe mage and sorcerer aren't vocations in the first game? Did you even play it?
Diggin the trickster class. Might have to give trickster a try on first play through.
Pawns cant have hybrid vocations like these
yeah, no way Pawns will be able to pull out the trickter gimmicks playstyle
@@Just_Naffathis is an arisen specific like Assassin, MA, and MK from DDDA
@@jonnybravo595I was so sure the trickster was a summoner
@@mrjustpassin4774 trickstar is highbrit vocation from combine sommon and another vocation , some speculation summon is based vocation.
this game looks amazing. backgrond is phenomenal
Yeah that's pretty much all of it. It's like a HD remake of DD1. But I'm fine with even that DD1 was fun and had powerful looking spells. Maybe it will suprise me, gonna get it anyways.
@@NeonReaperMkVII mans saying its a hd remake of dd1 while hes watching a video of an original new class fighting in new areas
Can’t wait to see some mystic spearhand, hope it lives up to it’s predecessor mystic knight
This is extremely innovative! I'm super excited to try this class, quite unconventional & that's exciting!
So the cheesing by leading enemys over ledges became a class, nice
Cool! looks like something Id want to play in a second playthrough.
Been waiting a loooong time for this. Can’t wait.
This looks amazing, nice to see a true support class!
Great to see you cover this Mitch :) Loved watching you and James play the 1st game years ago.
They should release a demo like they did with the first game and do with resident evil.
Capcom usually puts out their demos a few weeks before release.
Pray next month
Yeah. Hoping to download it and test everything to see how my pc will run this
Love the clothing design of the trickster.
LOVE IT! Any new and interesting gameplays and mechanics always welcoming to me.
The pawn ai better be amazing for this work.
Maybe there could be commands for your party to tell them exactly where to go/attack or to hold position? Maybe ability toggles like with Mass Effect?
Using commands to coordinate where you need ai pawns to be could be important for where to place abilities during combat.
It's a hybrid class, so no pawn trickster :C
A lot of the press releases say they’ve really tried to refine and improve the pawn and enemy AI
@@juanvaldivia8001 he meant the pawn as your DPS while the arisen is the trickster, if your a skilled trickster user but your AI kinda dumb it might defeat the purpose of being trickster in the first place
Gives all the more reason for Dragon's Dogma to have co-op, the class feels built exactly for multi-player
Damn I’m definitely running this character when the game releases ❤
This is a very interesting vocation. Can't wait to experiment with it
Very creative. I’ll give it a go.
Love that DD Is getting more coverage
Thanks Mitchell. Can’t wait to get this game and try them all ✌️😎
That's an innovative character to play
Streamers will love this class. Any type of gameplay that allows folks to troll is gonna hit big in this area.
Troll who? The mobs?
@@s.w.4409 Troll the trolls
@@Palidor How's that supposed to work? It's a single player game.
@@s.w.4409 It's just the typical thing streamers will probably like to show off by messing with mobs and making them jump off and other shenanigans Trickster can pull off
People will watch the stream either way
Looking forward to covering this one once the game arrives. The stealthy nature of certain skills especially interests me, along with the 'mind games' element, but the whole package is absolutely fascinating. A testament to the creative nature of the game itself!
yeah! I'm waiting for your take on this vocation!
Is this sarcasm, or nah?
@@christopherbuchanan3208 what makes you think so?
Like to see how this class deals damage to the bigger bosses with different hit boxes seems fun to try
This game is going to be so amazing.
Any chance of non combat analysis? Like inventory management, UI updates, stat growths, pawn inclinations and stuff like that.
So insanely hyped for this. DD1 was very clunky but had such great ideas for exploration, I'm calling this early for GOTY nomination
Finally a look at my upcoming class 🥰
Amazing graphics man can’t wait to play it
Pacifist Trickster: “goblin kill your self”
Conceivably one of the most OP classes in the game since you can literally control the flow of any fight and even stun large foes with that dragon illusion. Probably gonna be one of those classes that 99% of players try, find kinda useless, and move on. But that remaining 1% will be those guys who speed run the game at like level 1 in 15min and put out videos about how it's the most broken Meta to abuse.
Sorcery in bloodborne
@@francismakoni1526 And the Toot Flute in Monster Hunter 😌
Ah yes, truly the assassin of dragons dogma.. in dragon's dogma 2
It's gonna be OP 100%, but people will probably find boring
Its probably going to be underrated sadly. Specially since ypu arent the one doing the dmg numbers. People don't generally like that
And on my birthday too, this is a real treat. Probably not gonna be my starting choice, I’m gonna main the Mystic Spearhand but this class definitely looks really interesting as a unique spin on gameplay.
And rise of ronin!
Dude rise of ronin will get so overshadowed by Dragons Dogma😅 pretty sure they will delay release. @@Mark-qb8tw
Magic Archer was my primary pick for Dark Arisen but I’m absolutely certain I’ll be playing Trickster first in DD2! It’s an extremely unique looking experience to play an Illusionist essentially in such an action-forward game
Thanks that was very informative
Okay THAT'S a cool class! Player expression, creativity, uniqueness, amazing animations, balanced. Love it!
Definitely trying this one!! 🤩
Cant wait for this game! Need more great games in my library!
wow, a genuine new way of fighting like no other before
Someone is going to find the Bloody Knuckle ring for fisticuffs, or use Throwblasts and Vandal Rings, and combine it with this class for maximum shenanigans.
That or they find the monk job they planned for the old game.
@@durntfives8681 not the point, it's finding additional utility out of the Trickster class by finding stuff like the afforementioned equipment.
that voice sounds familiar… loved your Dragon’s Dogma Walkthrough back in the day, Mitch!
If this is true then ign picked the perfect person to cover this game
this looks incredible
Loosely reminds me of Saryn. Im excited to try this class
Looks amazing
Game of the year contender here.
Finally, something actually new to the RPG genre. New style of support class that we haven’t seen before.
Tricking enemies to fall off a cliff looks fun but won't you have to climb down the cliff to pick up the monsters loot too?
Free exp tho 🤑
The equivalent of using the powerful “push off cliff” tactic in Baldur’s Gate 3 - very strong but you sacrifice loot :’)
amazing creativity
Cant wait to try them all out
In an age where this game just might end up being better than Elder Scrolls VI. Can't wait to play this.
Pony boy detected
Even OG DD is better than Dark Souls when they first came out
@RadAgain Don't forget 76 😂
Well yeah, Besthesda is a joke now
@@Irsyad711I mean yeah the first game aged pretty badly
Really interesting class
Just unlocked this vocation and feel like it's going to be a fun class to use.
When’s the next video? I’m wayy too invested in this game!
YES. I'm just excited for something NEW. I'd be tempted to play this class first. Can't imagine what high level things the Trickster could do.
Yo, this actually dope as hell.
This is gonna be huge fun! Probably for a second playthrough though
Would love a necromancer class
Necromancer*, but yes, that would be amazing.
@@affliction1979 oh my bad. Yeah for example summoning the dead, maybe in higher level being able to ressurect dead enemies that you just killed, but also close combat spells would be great too
the sorcerer has a necromancy spell.
@@marcblair3781yeah, that's not what people mean when they say they want a necromancer lol
Genius, finally some innovation in the industry
This idea could spawn its own game, or own genre even. You don't fight, you influence. Wowing @ this video.
what a cool class
Nice you guys didn't butcher the gameplay this time!
It reminds me of a Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula Le Guin when Sparrowhawk is a boy and summons fog and figures in the fog to lure raiders off a cliff
Can't wait to see the Solo Trickster challenge runs.
Solo trickster pee,a death. That would be terrifying, imagine solo trickster playing at nighttime
Wonder how this works with bosses
Very creative
So it is like a Coercer/Illusionist/Enchanter from Everquest 2. Love that.
Interesting. Wonder how this class will fair in tight spaces and indoor areas?
You will kee buffing your pawns until they one shot the enemies by accident
Finally, a proper illusion playstyle. Actually tricking your enemies vs just “false damage” or debuffs.
trickster: a pacifist
also trickster: lure enemy to commit sudoku
This games going to be a banger just like the first!
Gonna be mystic spear for me 🔥
now THATS new ! awesome
Hello this is Mitchel from Gamefront and Im back with James to play more Dragons Dogma!
very Guidl Wars Mesmer - perfect! im gonna be playing that
Can't wait for the solo melee only challenge run
Can't wait to see speed runs with this class
Never got into the first one. But this still looks interesting.
Someone is going to call his character with this class " The Master Baiter" 😂
Definitely my GOTY. Very excited ❤😊
They really shoulda had this front and centre with promotion, so original
*center
This game is going to be fantastic.
It's a crime that this has no coop
Looks like some one saw the least popular playstyle in skyrim and said.
"What if we make it fun?"
This looks fun as heck
Hardcore vocation againts Talos, we had unarmed solo challange in 1st dragon dogma, this might be another solo challange in 2nd
That's nice. Now tell us about the armor layering.
Can anyone explain why there aren't any drops after you kill enemies?
The goated Orthodox Priest class, can't wait to main it!
this is such an interesting class
Game of the year 2024 !!!
?@CetariaI
How do you know? Can you look into the future?
I'm still going for Mystic Spearhand main but will run this pending on the Stat growths.
This amazing ❤️🐉😺
those surface illusion tricks look meme worthy lol
cannot wait
Very unique, definitely not using on a 1st Character, but looks interesting on future characters
can't wait for the spear hand cover
If you are making enemies jump off of cliffs, then how will you collect their loot?!
