Focal Twins are 2.5 way not 3 way. The 5inch speakers are split 1 is dedicated to bass and the other is dedicated to mid-range. They sound really good and provide a great stereo range and separation of frequencies. I really like the amount of space in his room. I would love to be able to have some separation of areas. Like a place for mixing/mastering and another spot for creation and where all my keyboard crap would exist. I am getting some good ideas about what I need for my next house. I need a 4 bedroom with two bedrooms side by side LOL!! Break down the walls and make it a mega sized room with sections for music.
This is one of my favorite segments of yours. It is so interesting to see how another producer/artist works. Very inspiring. That RCA mic was drool-worthy. Where did he find that gem.
If you are asking me, I use like the SM7 for more “screamy” stuff. But also, the SM7 has less top so my background vocals don’t interfere with the lead when I use it. I typically use a Neumann U87 for pop music leads.
Most likely a ground lifter and/or a power conditioner will help. If the problem persists, try changing the cables or identifying the source. It could, in some cases, be the power of the building you are in.

Is it OK to use ground adapters to eliminate noise from studio monitors?
