A lot of us even myself don't realize how fortunate we are for tons and tons of resources that are out there in the world and take those resources for granted. You can learn almost anything on the internet but we act selfish and lazy. I am thankful to learn code and I know if my younger self looked at how much I learned to code, he would be proud because I used to think coding was like magic... Other then that, I appreciate you sharing your story, Chris.
I’m there with ya brother. In just 4 years of learning code I went from $13.75 /hr to $52 /hr. They have definitely been some of the most challenging years of my life but they have paid off.
Personally I think it’s ridiculous that people who work more than 40 plus hours a week can’t even afford to live. There needs to be a living wage paid to all workers!
Your journey is so inspiring! From where you were and where you are now is just inspiring. I just started learning code and can’t wait to see where this takes me. And yes it’s so important to have hope and determination those are what will get you through the tough times.
I love the utter raw Honesty Chris! This is why I enjoy listening to your channel. You dont sugar coat it or make it look easy. And you're not perfect, you are flawed just like most of us. Its Real. That's why its inspiring.
Love this video bro, relate to it a lot. My situation wasn't the same as yours but long story short, after college I was unemployed, low on money, couch surfing, and with a broken down car for some time. After I got on my feet I was working 50-60 hours/week at a restaurant, but I had decided I wanted to become a software engineer so I put in extra work to move towards that goal. Not there yet, but I finished a coding bootcamp last week and now I'm hoping to land a job sooner than later. Grinding daily to learn more and improve. This video was inspiring big time though man, keep it up 💪🏾
@@xhiah5894 Yoo, I forgot all about having left this comment before. But all thanks to God things went well for me with the journey and I just finished my second year as a software engineer on October 8th. My circumstances left me under a 2 year contract and I haven’t been a fan of my particular company, but it’s given me experience and helped me grow. Now that my contract is up, I can apply elsewhere to find a better fit, but to do that I’ll need to put together a lil project portfolio in my free time. So update: I’ve worked hard and been blessed, and the grind continues lol
I also got laid off this year as React Js dev, yea this year has been hard for all of us. But good thing now is i use these times to learn new tech. You has been my inspiration and motivation to keep going on this career.
Thanks for this. I needed it. I'm picking up my vlog tomorrow. I been saying I would but I've been so busy with Lambda School that I didn't take action. But, really auditing myself the reason I haven't started is because of a similar reason you didn't film in your room. I msged a year ago when I started this journey. Then I was living in LA driving for Uber and struggling badly. I lived with 5 other roommates which made LW affordable but stressful. So I have to come home to CT and moved back in with my mother who is on section 8 housing to be able to be in a bootcamp like Lambda School. But, I'm living in a closet no bigger than the room you were in. It's about the size of a jail cell. No window etc. I definitely am just going to pick up my camera and just get started and tell my story how it is. I want to see what happens and it will be nice to look back and remember where I was when this started. Anyways, thanks brother. My roommate motivated me to learn code but your story also impacted my decision. 💪🏾 I know your busy. But I enjoy your videos man. Would be nice to get these videos a bit more frequently I'd support. I have been a biology research assistant for years and I feel depressed because I work so many hours and still get severely underpaid....and it isn’t very rewarding. I want to make a lot of money.
