That's an iconic locomotive 🚂, the 2-8-2 and it's chime whistle are historic,would like to see 4501 and N&W J Class 4-8-4 611 highballing on the NS mains again, if Wick Moorman was still in there they probably would be!🛤👍

I remember this engine well. When I was little in the 70's, the 4501 would roll through about once a year coming north from Chattanooga. I'm not sure where they ended up. Knoxville, maybe?

Can someone give a detailed explanation of the bridge restriction that prevents the passenger rail traffic from going under it? What is the deficiency of the bridge? How much will is cost to repair? Can TVRM afford to get it repaired? I asked people during a recent trip on the Copperhill Special but no one seemed to have an explanation, or a timeline for return of the Summerville Steam Special. Thanks in advance!

They more than likely weren’t allowed to say anything since those excursions are starting back this month. First Summerville special is 9/16/2023.

Also it wasn’t the responsibility of TVRM to pay for the bridge. Norfolk Southern I believe was responsible for that. That’s what they told me atleast.
