Please God, let this be narrated by Drayton. The new guy is ok (not really but being polite ya know)but he doesn't know about trains, isn't passionate about trains and is only barely competent with his geography and pronunciation. It's painful to listen to after being spoiled by years of Drayton doing such a solid job.

Drayton has the classic railfan style voice. Reminded me of the Greg Scholl videos. Really hope he goes back to narrating

It'll be nice, if the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society owns tanker trucks known as "mobile water towers" to provide NKP 2-8-4 765 with pumping water from their tanks into it's tender during scheduled steam excursions.

This is a wonderful video, Drato! I enjoyed all the views of the train as it went around Horseshoe Curve. The S-curve through Plumber's Hollow with the 765 meeting the freight train was a section of the railroad that I had never seen before. I enjoyed watching this video very much.

My stepfather was an NS employee; he and my mother were on this train. Wish I had the means to get there to see this. Great shots, and cool to hear Dave Ferrell is involved... he's a good man.

I've been to the Horseshoe Curve tourist viewing area. Pretty awesome sight and even more so at night. With the sparks coming from the wheels as they slip on the track. Unfortunately, my visit was during the day.

To the OP and the first guy to reply, car 42 is a Head End Power generator car and coach combine. It's currently located at the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC. From what an NCTM volunteer friend has told me, the soundproofing on 42 is so good you can't hardly hear the generator on it running when you're in the coach section and the door between the coach and generator sections is closed.

Very nice. I imagine the following conversation between #765 and the NS diesel at Plumber's Hollow (16:55):
765: "Working hard hauling freight, I see."
NS Diesel: "Well, you're carrying passengers, and that's just as important."
