It took time to integrate Power Query with PBI Report Builder. Does the local view of the report work or does it depend on a Gateway update?

After Mar'24 update, am unable to "copy table" from Table View and paste it in MS Excel.
just click the table visual. click the 3 points in the upper right corner. select export data and u get your table as a csv file.
It will only give the data which is showing in the table visual, I wanted to copy entire sheet for which there is an option given as “Copy Table”. We can see this option when we will click on the 3 dots on the sheet in table view
@@dominiksch4928 he is talking about the tables in Data view, not visuals. I have the same issue, looks like a newly introduced bug.

please update the power bi to the newer version. You are facing this issue because of the older version.
Anyone facing issues copy table data from the data tab? It's not letting me grab the data I need for reports that are done through excel.

Am facing the same issue
I enjoyed this very much but still concerned that you haven't fixed the stored procedure issues where there are problems running it from PowerBI in direct query mode. It's an issue especially when you're dealing in big data and large datasets.

Can we sort the column in descending order in matrix visualisation. Example if i put year an month in column. Can we sort them in descending order.

2) power bi reletionship manages help support - some time data not give correct data as excel gives

It would be awesome if we are able to create user defined reusable Dax functions.
A simple use case would be for dynamic measure formatting. Currently there is no way to write a single formatting dax expression and apply it across all similar measures. This results in the inability to centrally manage our formatting logic and a lot of repeated code.
A reusable user defined function should be something that accepts a user defined typed input, performs some user defined operations and outputs a user defined result.
If there is already a way to do this, can someone kindly share how?
From my current understanding, there is no way to do this with dax. Calculation groups do not solve this problem as we can't "call" the operations of a calculation group when building measures like how we call dax functions like Sumx(a,b) with parameters.
In the context of dynamic measure formating, using SelectedMeasure() as a variable in the dax expression to try and create an experience of passing arbitrary measures as parameters into our "centrally managed dax formatting measure" does not work.
Can't you just define a measure with your format string and pass it to the format expressions ? Haven't tested it myself, but I'm almost sure it should work.
Yes this will only work if the format is static eg "#.00" or doesn't involve using the value of the current measure.
It will not work if we need to use value of the measure as part of the dynamic formatting logic. For example, maybe for values greater than 1000, format in thousands(K) with 2dp. For values smaller than 1000 format as is with 1 dp.
We can achieve such dynamic conditional formatting features within the same measure by refering to its own value : by placing SelectedMeasure() in a variable and using it in the dynamic format dax expression.
But we can't apply this logic to other measures by simply placing it inside their dynamic formatting property. SelectedMeasure() returns 0 or blank in the context of another measure.
Hardcoding the dynamic format expression to use the value of the current measure for conditional formatting means we can only use it for that particular measure. This makes the code non-reusable.
Can't you run a C# script in TE to format measure and the DAX expressions?
It would be great if you could highlight which license SKU applies to the various update features.
Agree on this one, it's so frustrating to get all hyped up on a video just to go find out that is a Premium only feature.

I think a lot of time is spent on On-Object Interaction formatting. It's not that great and useful (in my opinion).

Im glad Im not the only one on this. So much time and effort goes into tweaking the formatting pane when they could have used that to develop tools which help in enterprise modelling. A multi billion dollar company seeks community help in providing tools for enterprise modeling (TE, DAX studio, ALM Toolkit). SMH

after we updated power bi desktop to the latest version, all our pbix files has Unable to execute DAX error and unable to do anything even refresh data. the dashboard has no issues refreshing data online. but in desktop, it's error all over the place
