@76 Depends. They're in Utah so it's not quite as bad as up here in northern ontario Canada but those cars don't really like rough terrain and the roads up here can get so white washed that it's basically off roading plus those engines don't like being cold started so much and sometimes it's not possible to plug in a block-heater. Drove my Boxster for an entire winter once when times got tough back when I decided on finishing my MBA. Obviously I decided to fund it by selling the G-Wagon...I'd say it's because the Porsche was worth a lot less but it's more or less because It was my first car and I'll never sell it ...needless to say it would have been way better idea to buy $1500 crusty old subaru for the winter.Maybe it wouldn't be so bad with different coilovers/struts to lift it up 6inches or so otherwise it gets stuck in most parking lots up here because they're either knee deep in snow or basically skating rinks. Even studded tires barely help. The 911 4s wouldn't be as bad with the weight over the rear axle and power at all 4 corners. Much better asshole car to daily drive through the winter...also twice the value of the boxster or cayman.
@z z Yeah...I mean don't get me wrong Porsche is great. it's just the polar opposite variety of fancy car from a lincoln. Porsche: A machine to satisfy those who prefer feeling of a raw but somehow silky smooth visceral driving experience leaving them more connected to the road. @@RYO12mwos Grats man. I made that comment 5 years ago when I drove a '15 wrx and since then have been driving a '17 Mustang GT the last 4 years. I love it. I'd love to drive a cayman but not in the cards, and I feel like I'm addicted to V8 sound now.

Fully agree Julian. All the channels are fun, depending on your mood. But these two guys are my mood most of the time. They should be way more popular. I don't even know if they're around anymore. Guess I could simply click their banner and find out.
Just got out of the new Motor Trend best drivers car, watched this and thought, Everyday Driver just did a better version of best drivers car. Well done as always! Two cars that are also affordable for a regular person, & both sound like amazing machines, though I personally would take the Porsche. Cheers!
Love them both. As a Bmw owner I find the M2 to be the best car in Bmw's current lineup. But...Man I don't think I would pass up on that Porsche. In a world where cars are getting so bloated with weight, this beauty comes in at just a tick over 3000 lbs. Incredible.
I've driven the full M lineup at a recen BMW track day to celebrate the launch of the M2 in New Zealand. All M cars were fantastic and the M2 was in no way behind the M3 or M4, exception interiour cabin details. BUT the flat six sound of a Porsche, and maybe the last generation of Cayman to have it is more exciting than any turbo charged M car, that's my opinion. What will you drive? A car with racing pedigree and an engine that will never come back? Or a car with turbo engine that will be surpassed by future turbo engines?
Haha maybe. But the M2 as good a car as it is has it's compromises for cost. No adjustable dampers I think, that's a negative point for me already. Also turbo engine is good but you know there will be a better in 5 yrs time. The GTS on the other hand is NA and only surpassed by the Cayman GT4. It's the more desirable car for me -hands down.
I wanna thank you guys for putting the weight of the car not only in pounds, but also in kilograms. It helps people who are not from the US to understand some characteristic of the car.
I made this choice and I don t regret mine. More expensive but Porsche keeps its value way more than a BMW over here in Europe and that counts too. People are about "yeah but the M2 is cheaper", ok true but look how fast they lose their value.
I’ve driven, tracked, and raced so many Caymans (from the 987S through the phenomenal 981 GT4), I think I could do it in my sleep. So the fact that I have more fun tracking an M2 maybe is colored by the relative newness. I just love the way it tip-toes through corners, as you guys said. The chassis and brakes are phenomenal, it’s more knife-edged but in a good way. I love the Cayman, it’s as ridiculously Porsche (that is, awesome) as they get. But the M2 is more alive in my hands. Great review, guys.
I need people to stop saying get the PDK on the basis of how impressed they are with the engineering. The goal is maximum fun.....manuals are more fun.
Great video guys! I'm biased so it's the GTS for me. The M2 is cool and the best BMW but the GTS is a proper sports car you can use daily. I commute, run errands and even use it in the Swiss winter. And as soon as I'm on a Swiss mountain pass, the GTS just wants to be thrown around, it's so much fun.
I made a comment on one of your MX-5 videos (can't remember which one), about the sound when you two step outside the cars to have your discussion. This one is absolutely stellar in comparison. Whatever you guys did worked really well. It's really amazing to see how much you guys continue to improve your quality. Keep up the great work!
I'm new to your reviews but I gotta say it's really very high quality. You both clearly have a deep passion and knowledge about cars and are able to accurately describe what your thinking in a way that gives the viewer great insight into the products your testing. also your video editing and shooting really keeps you engaged.... great job👍
TL Ezzy I've own both. The Cayman is the better car in the track by far. The m2 is fantastic, however the Cayman gt4/gts competes with super cars. The m2 is a fantastic daily driver and is very comfortable. It really is a steal for it's ($42-58k price) while a Cayman is more expensive overall, in gas and maintenance.
New Cayman is not that expensive, and is far more economical thanks to the turbos. You don't really miss the flat 6. Best is the 981 GT4 though. It sings.
Glenns Car Collection is it worth getting M2? I'm between a Challenger TA 392 with 500hp and track pack or an M2... totally different but wanted your input please
Great video. I bought one of the last Cayman GTS allocations in June and picked up the car about a month ago. Sapphire Blue -6 speed manual - X73 suspension, PTV, etc. I sold my Ferrari 360 Spider as the prices were just nuts for a gated Ferrari. Was not sure what to expect from the Porsche. The car is phenomenal. I won't go into details comparing the two, but the after putting the first 1600 km on the car, the Porsche has not disappointed.
Currently drive the E92 M3 with full suspension. I drive an M4 and drove the M2 at Thermal club race track, everything about the M2 was amazing in stock form, can only imagine the potential with upgrades.
Brilliant video & channel! Totally agree as a current M2 owner, last month I spent a few days spanking a Cayman GT4 through Europe's best roads and it made my M2 feel very ordinary... I'm looking at used Cayman GTS's now (GT4 is way out of my price range) Subbed :-)
The Cayman is an amazing drivers car. I had this very decision to make, albeit a few years later, as I am not rich enough to afford brand new cars of this quality. I love the Cayman, but I can only afford one car, and the OG M2 was my choice. It's 95% of the driving ability of the Porsche, it really is not very far behind, but I needed rear seats, a bit of luggage space, and it is so much fun at normal speeds.
Nice video! I have the Cayman GTS, and a good friend is considering the M2. Although now he's leaning toward the TTRS which is no good because I already have a friend with a TTRS, I need a shot at a M2 :) All three are great cars that go about their business very differently. I wouldn't fault anyone who picked differently, but I think I'll stick with my Cayman. I came from a STI and I think I'm done with turbos for a while. Mid-engine balance is joy and that flat six sounds better (to me) than anything cheaper than a Huracan. But yeah that M2 is sweet and I sure would love to try one out.
So I've been through your exact dilemma, with a PDK Cayman GTS at that. I sold the Cayman because it was "too good" and "too easy". I got a Boxster Spyder, despite living in Boston (we get at least as much snow as Utah, and 9 feet just two years ago). Where the Spyder is where I want it is A) the manual makes me feel much more involved B) losing the roof adds a bit of necessary discomfort and anxiety (particularly top down in winter in sub-freezing weather) and C) it has the same section width as a base Boxster despite the 3.8L, so it moves around rather easily when you want it to (which is why I passed on TWO Cayman GT4 allocations -- wider, stickier tires and aero grip).
Best review you guys have ever done. Todd, wonderful work on the editing. I adore the music at the 2:34 and the cuts that go along with the melody. Paul, what a great problem to have choosing between those two. I loved the video; it really grabs attention in the first couple minutes. And Paul, Todd is right. It's not an "and." hahaha
I have a gt4 and a 1m, and this review really spoke to me. But, if/when the wife pushes for one to go, I won't hesitate cutting the 1m. The two are brilliant, modern hot-rod underdogs, but the gt4 is a pure driving experience directly connecting me to the wheels. I completely support its title as ECOTY.
I swear every time I watch this channel I like it even more. This is like that incredibly good restaurant that's only visited by people who truly enjoy great cuisine, this channel is made by true car guys for true car guys.
You guys are as good as it gets, period. This comparison was even more useful to me now than it was two years ago. I'm confounded that the comments are from 2-3 years ago. Every red blooded sport car fanatic should be curious about this face off / battle. This is a relevant must comparison for anyone that loves handling and lives near twisty roads. You have adeptly put into video and words how I feel and what I think about Porsche vs BMW reviews. So well done.
I loved the sequence with music and detailed views of the cars. Great editing Todd! I'm a little surprised by the brake comment on Porsche. I've always felt they're truly progressive so the more pedal effort the more brake. Whereas BMW M cars have great initial bite but doesn't feel as firm when standing on them. If I had to DD one of them the choice is M2 but with a JGC as your DD I have to agree the CGTS is an event, looks better and arguably better balanced. Lastly Porsche has better built quality and it isn't immediately apparent until one spends time in one.
Guys, I really appreciated the detailed review for these cars. Honest, personal and insightful. I too like the M2, and BMWs in general. However, I know the feeling of the driving "experience" one enjoys from the Cayman. Both great cars, but I'd go with the Cayman. Based on your passionate reviews, I just subscribed.
Starting at 11:17. Dude.... Your crazy to not want to FEEL what the tires are doing. Go to the track in a car with hydraulic steering like an E36 M3 and get to the limit. You can FEEL when the grip starts to go away in the steering wheel. You can feel everything the car is doing through the wheel. It's amazing and the way ALL sports cars should be. So sad the EPA stepped in and now we have crap electric steering. Bottom line is I have lost some respect for you after that comment.
I agree with you, but maybe that just isn't what he wants from that car, i think what he was trying to say is that in this instance he valued refinement over feedback... not what i would want, but i can see his point.
It's weird but since I realized in a simracer how much information the steering wheel can provide I appreciate the hydraulic steering of my car even more.
Agreed. I also think they're wrong about the feedback in the M2. Does it have the feel of an E36 M3? No. Is it completely devoid of feedback as they claim? Also no. It's far better than, say, the 235/228. On the track and autocross, while I'd like to feel more, I can definitely feel when the front end is starting to wash out. OTOH, the back end...That's damn near telepathic.
I'm curious, is electric steering so prevalent because of regulations or is it because every car manufacturer wants it as a feature? Would it be possible to make a car today with hydraulic steering?
DAMN YOU 96 DEGREE LATTE!!! In all due honesty, what people need to take away is that you guys are literally dancing on the razor's edge with this comparison. The depth and application of your knowledge to a video like this should be awe inspiring to everyone that watches. It is to me, and I thank you for that.
Excellent video guys! I just bought a 997 and am looking forward to adding an M2 (will never let go of this 911) when my kids outgrow the back seats. Looking at those 2 cars together as a potential garage makes me look forward to having the problem of choosing between a Porsche sports car and an M2 everyday!
I'm back here 7 years later and it's happened. This summer I added a 2018 Long Beach blue OG M2 6MT to go alongside my 997. Had a detour with a Macan S for several years but decided I wanted something more fun, with a manual, since I don't need child seats anymore. Well, the M2 has delivered fun in spades! What a joy to drive, and so different from the 911. It makes you want to just hoon around everywhere. Perfect street car for me. My only regret is not having bought one sooner. Just thought I'd share, not that anyone's looking.
Very important. I've seen all types of car reports and by far, you guys are the best. You're been honest and I can tell. Thanks to you guys, in getting BMW M2 2018. thank you guys!
@@krasnaludek298 You need to compare them to similar offerings from BMW. I love an X5 but there's a reason I paid a bit more for the Cayenne instead when we needed grocery getter.
I had Todd's impression when I test-drove a base Cayman, vs. later taking one out on Porsche's test track in Atlanta: it is a bland, muted experience at normal speeds. So I got an S2000 :) I imagine the GT4 might solve that problem.
As the prior owner of 6 BMW's and 3 Porsches, I can say the Porsches always felt like solid blocks of granite while the BMW's always felt like solid blocks of plastic.
This is the best heads up video I've ever seen. You two are more interested in the debate than in being broadly entertaining or staying on script. I feel like I've driven both of them now, thank you. Liked and subscribed.

I love your show!!! I look forward to every Thursday!!! .. M2!!! PS. You have to drive the JCW GP2 before winter...2500lbs,6pods, Kv700 tires..track chasi!!! 218 HP! (only comes in manual) drive it on your back roads!
Thanks for another great video. My M2 just made it on to the boat so this helps prime me for that experience. Had I not been able to get an M2 allocation my plan was to look for a Cayman S. Have a great time in Europe
I literally could not think of two other cars that i would rather own today. These are real driver's cars that place balance and enjoyment above raw power output. I currently drive a 370z with 6mt and while it is no Cayman gts, it was the closest I could get at this point in life with a wife and 2 kids. Viva la driver's car & viva la car dreams
That said...and Also for what it's worth. I would put the 370z sport brake package up Against just about anything I've personally driven including a Cayman S, m4 and corvette
Have watched over 20 M2 reviews. You two are the most enjoyable watch. Love the switch-back-and-forth format. You guys don't try and "act". Just a relaxing conversation tone. Discovered the channel today.
Found your channel today. I’ve been considering the Cayman GTS, and your reviews and candor have all been extremely helpful. Keep up the good work guys!
Great video and worth the wait. It's interesting to hear how there was no clear winner. The production value of these videos is some of the best around! I'd watch this with the audio off simply to take in the sites.
First time watching you guys (I was linked here from Bimmerpost) and I've got to say - mega video. Nice camera work and commentary. By the way, I didn't know Utah was so beautiful.
I just wanted to express my appreciation for both this channel, which is wonderful, and this episode in particular, which was especially poignant for me. Like Todd, I was, and remain, a big fan of the FRS. I bought mine new in 2013 and over the last four years it's evolved into a dedicated track machine with racing seats, a quick release steering wheel and a six point harness. It's really a giant killer at the track and I've been as far north as Mont-Tremblant Quebec and as far south as Road Atlanta. But the car is just not practical, or for that matter, livable on the street anymore. It travels between track events on an open trailer. And I'm stuck with my daily commuter when I'm not on track. (When you drive a Honda Fit every day, let's just say the FRS feels plenty fast.) The car I really wanted as a weekend car was a Boxster S. In fact, I've wanted one since first seeing a preproduction prototype on the road in Germany back in 1996. But a mortgage, kids, a college fund, etc, it was just out of reach without making too many other practical sacrifices. And just when I thought I was getting close to a 2-3 year old 981 being a possibility, the 718 arrived and drove the prices of 981s (and even 987s) skyward. Thanks Porsche. So about a year ago I gave up and decided if things went well this year, I would order an M2 in the fall. And I watched this review at least a dozen times. I almost felt as if I was sitting and living vicariously through the two of you, trying to figure out what to do. Over the last 2 months it started to bother me. As nice as the M2 is, and it's infinitely more practical [than the Boxster], I realized it wasn't exactly the car I wanted. And it would be crazy to spend almost $60K on what was basically my second choice, and for a 'weekend' car at that. But I'm thankful in that it made me realize that perhaps the car I really wanted was the Cayman. And by pure chance, I found a 2016 Cayman S for sale, sport chrono package, sport suspension, manual transmission, and only 3500 miles on the odometer. And it was expensive. But still workable. (I suppose it's to my benefit that my first color choice was yellow and transmission choice was manual, and this particular car sat for a while with no takers, as most people in the market for one, would walk right on by that combination) But it was exactly what I was looking for. So after 22+ years of dreaming, I am now a Porsche owner. And I want to thank you both for helping me make this decision by essentially presenting this exact question and debating it with precisely the balance of reason and emotion that I would myself. For what it's worth, up until a few years ago, my first choice would have been a Lotus Elise, and I think it was a brilliant car to replace the FRS. But I just don't think I could live with it every day or put up with it's idiosyncrasies as a road car. Consider me a loyal fan for life.
Wow, thank you. This is a fantastic encouragement and endorsement of what we do. We're thrilled to hear you found the right car for you and we hope you enjoy that Cayman for a long time. Congratulations, and thanks for being with us!
I would probably choose the Cayman. It's just so beautiful, and the build quality is so insanely good. The M2 may be more practical, and I love practical cars, but the Cayman just seems like such a more high-end product.
A year ago, I decided to upgrade from my RX-8 R3. After extensive research, I narrowed down my final list to the 987.2 Cayman S and M2 (other cars that I originally shortlisted were the C7 Corvette and 997.2 911 CS). At the time, I had driven several Caymans and loved them, but had to make a decision without getting a chance to drive the M2 as they weren't out yet. Since this is not my daily driver, I went with the Cayman and have no regrets. That said, if this my only car, I'd likely go with the M2 as it has the extra seats for the kids. I'm in total agreement that these are two of the best driver's cars available today. Thanks for the great video!
loved this vid, with lovingful lovettitude lol, for me the no-brainer would be the Porsche for the sound, engineering, PDK, uniqueness, induction and brandname (initial quality, sale price, etc.) but I see your points of view and respect them. dreams happen, and come in a first world problem package.
Great review guys. Interesting about the power delivery. I found the DCT to be just the opposite in my review. Immediate power everywhere. I also couldn't help but compare it to a Cayman. Both great cars! BTW, you guys were my inspiration back with your original Cayman review. keep up the good work.
Love Everyday Driver! Stick with the Porsche Paul. The flat 6 is beautiful, PDK is very nice, but everyone loves manual. Beautiful blue color. I love BMW just like you, but even if its an M..Porsche makes proper sports cars and I'd take a Porsche over a M powered BMW anyday.
Great review men. Of the 2 I'd get the GTS but in a manual. Currently I have an Stronic GTI, Stronic S3 and a manual Boxster S. If I had to choose 1 car it would be my manual Boxster. Long live the manual.
Every Porsche will become a classic in a 10 or 20 years. BMW just has been churning out family cars with body kits recently. Not that much soul compared to Porsches.
I hate to be defending the BMW, but Porsches aren't guaranteed classics. The 924,the 996 series carrera and to some extent the 914 never really became classics. They came and went without any permanent influence. Very few considered the 914 to be a true Porsche, the 924 was always considered to be a worse 944,the 996 is the most hated Porsche of all time
It may sound crazy but some people have really started to appreciate the 996 design lately and who knows if the value drop is already beginning to slow down and even turn around. There are even some who think the original Cayenne is a future classic. We'll see in a few years how it plays out, keep an eye on the regular 996 prices.
996's are cheap as hell where I live. See them as low as 20-25 grand Canadian in great condition. Honestly 997's haven't held their value super well either so far. And you can get some Boxster models for around 10 grand now in good running order.
LOL so true, there will always be fewer M2s than Cayman GTSs for a start. Of the Caymans, currently, only the GT4 is going to be a future classic. The GTS is not going to be one, sorry. Anyone who thinks so is going to experience a tulip bulb correction before long.
You're looking at classics all wrong. Just because it isn't a gt4, doesn't mean it won't be a classic. The e30 325i is a sought after classic even though it's not the flagship that the m3 is. The gts obviously won't fetch the same value as a gt4 but it still could be a classic
Hi Everyday Driver. Let me start by saying I think that your reviews edge out Motor Trend as my favorite reviews for cars on RUclips. Iam actually licky rnough to say that I'm faced with the first world problem that you guys consider in this video with an additional variable. the 2013 TTRS. I'm currently cross shopping a used Cayman GTS, a new M2, and a used TTRS. I live in Michigan where the roads are pretty crappy and the winters can get kind of dicey. I also grew up in California and am still coming to terms with the possibility of needing to own two cars and the idea of making six payments a year on a car stuck in the garage hurts my soul. Furthermore, I'm currently in an apartment with one parking spot. Right now I'm driving a 228i xDrive with snow tires in the winter, but every single time I get in h this car I miss the manual. Alot. Currently the TTRS is the front-runner for me but I wanted to know how you guys felt it stacked up against the other two. Really looking forward to hearing your input. I've test driven a manual Cayman S and loved it, test drove the TTRS and loved it too. I'm putting an offer down on a TTRS but am definitely having concerns about selling myself short with a compromise. Finally, the availability of the BMW M2 precludes a test drive it so I'm kind of going off of faith and what I'm hearing in the reviews. Thanks, hope to hear from you.
Check around with your nearby BMW dealers. I live in San Antonio, TX, and BMW of Austin has an M2 available for test drives. It has DCT, not 6 speed, and is a pretty amazing car.
Thanks for the video. Price vs performance is key here. I could do the Cayman as well, it would be my second cayman actually. I'm at the junction of decision on these two cars myself. I want them both but thats a pipe dream. I was at the BMW dealership yesterday and if I want on the list I can take delivery in March 2017. (5th on the list). There is a 2016 Cayman GTS at local dealership in racing yellow for $96K ouch !! But I need to pull the trigger soon. Love your vids you guys !
How do you feel about the cars now about 6 months later? I'm faced with this dilemma myself right now. My M2 arrives in 4 weeks but I can't stop shopping for a used cayman gts. Any insights?
How can you watch this video with the awesome landscape, the sunshine and all that and not realise how wrong they both are? That road is screaming for a Boxster ;)
1.)Todd, I think BMW as a brand makes an exceptionally overconservative driving aid system. My guess is that's necessary because a majority of their buyers don't realize that's they're rear-driven. 2.) Paul, that's not a "first-world problem". It's a "First world, unmarried, no kids problem"! 3.) Todd, thanks for sticking up for us guys fighting the good battle to keep cargo shorts alive! Great review as always. My pick is the M2.
Porsche all day everyday. M2 if you didn't have another practical car but for a dedicated sports car? mid engine NA flat six every time.
Obviously I decided to fund it by selling the G-Wagon...I'd say it's because the Porsche was worth a lot less but it's more or less because It was my first car and I'll never sell it
...needless to say it would have been way better idea to buy $1500 crusty old subaru for the winter.Maybe it wouldn't be so bad with different coilovers/struts to lift it up 6inches or so otherwise it gets stuck in most parking lots up here because they're either knee deep in snow or basically skating rinks.

I used to drive E92 M3 and I thought that's great sports car. But I recently got 981 GT4 and I immediately felt this is the real sports car.

Totally agree. I only watched MT DCOY for Randy Pobst.
The M2 costs $100k+ in Australia. "Affordable for a regular person" ... not me.
EverydayDriver is a seriously underrated channel, even with 163 612 subscribers.

thorandmoljnir imagine the 981 Boxster. Same exact thing as the Cayman, except it’s convertible and weighs less. Now that would be fun!!
I wanna thank you guys for putting the weight of the car not only in pounds, but also in kilograms. It helps people who are not from the US to understand some characteristic of the car.
You should be from the US. Nobodies fault but your own.
@@Frip36 We can cross with the caravan on your Southern border.
@@Frip36 smh. People like u make me embarassed to be from the US.
@@Frip36 yeah its just funny ;) not serious.
These guys need so many more subscribers. Their content is so well done. Their cinematography is up there with the pros!
Definitely the cinematography is definitely a treat to watch!
I've owned an M2C for two days and I'm truly blown away with what BMW has accomplished. Excellent vehicle 10/10.
The Cayman driving experience is on another level - as long as you don't need passenger seats
I made this choice and I don t regret mine. More expensive but Porsche keeps its value way more than a BMW over here in Europe and that counts too. People are about "yeah but the M2 is cheaper", ok true but look how fast they lose their value.
Not that true in france m2 are still pretty expensives
You both clearly have a deep passion and knowledge about cars and are able to accurately describe what your thinking in a way that gives the viewer great insight into the products your testing. also your video editing and shooting really keeps you engaged.... great job👍
Great video. I just took delivery of my Cayman GTS with a 6 speed and X73 suspension, and plan to keep it forever!
Have you considered trading it for a 718 GTS 4.0?
I picked watching this over Motortrend's best drivers car. Unmatched quality and perspective from these guys 👍
They are much better because they are honest reviewers
but yet they are trying to rip off top gear failing horribly to do their own thing...they need to change it a little if they want more subs
It's great that you like this, but similar to the conclusion in this video, it's not either or but can be an and. You can watch both you know.

two amazing cars. I currently own an M2 just like it, Long Beach Blue, manual trans and I use to own a 2008 Cayman S.
Glenns Car Collection
how is it? any problems?
M2 or Cayman S?? And why.
As a Cayman gt4 owner considering an m2 daily driver, I appreciate this video.
You guys have a fantastic channel. Every new video gets me excited and fuels my passion!
GTS no question
was waiting for this. great video
ditto!
Currently drive the E92 M3 with full suspension. I drive an M4 and drove the M2 at Thermal club race track, everything about the M2 was amazing in stock form, can only imagine the potential with upgrades.
How's the e92 compared to all of those?
Brilliant video & channel! Totally agree as a current M2 owner, last month I spent a few days spanking a Cayman GT4 through Europe's best roads and it made my M2 feel very ordinary... I'm looking at used Cayman GTS's now (GT4 is way out of my price range) Subbed :-)
THis is my favorite channel along with savageese and driveopolis, PERIOD. NO other youtube car channels can compare.
Savagegeese Gang
I really enjoy your videos, your down to earth reviews and your approach and everything.
The GTS is so underrated, shadowed by the great but pretty over the top looking GT4. Plus the engine and sound is so much better than the new 718
I have a gt4 and a 1m, and this review really spoke to me.
I'm going with the M2 if it was my only car. Cayman for a weekend/toy/date car.
This channel gives some of the best reviews on RUclips. I appreciate this channel very much. Thank you!
OTOH, the back end...That's damn near telepathic.
come on guy, what they want is a car that make them fast, they ain't true petrolhead ....
I'm curious, is electric steering so prevalent because of regulations or is it because every car manufacturer wants it as a feature? Would it be possible to make a car today with hydraulic steering?
The tone of your videos is great. I like it much more than the path Motor Trend has chosen to go down.
Great car. We bet you’ll love your M2. Thanks for watching!
A Porsche will always feel more special than a BMW
Wrong; have you seen some of the bland offerings like the Cayenne & Panamera vs. their price counterparts at BMW? You’re delusional.
@@krasnaludek298 You need to compare them to similar offerings from BMW.
I love an X5 but there's a reason I paid a bit more for the Cayenne instead when we needed grocery getter.
@@krasnaludek298 i also prefer bmw but how do you get offended by personal preferences
@@krasnaludek298 rather have bland than BMWs having problems every year.
Facts.
Digging the new music tracks--cool series of shots/music at 2:32...well done as always guys!
Please give us an update on the Cayman comparing it to the 2020 Supra you drove. Planning on shopping in this class next year.
Have a great time in Europe
you guys have the best intro in the business, makes me really happy to be a long term subscriber
I would put the 370z sport brake package up Against just about anything I've personally driven including a Cayman S, m4 and corvette
as much as I love the M2..... to my eyes the GTS is and will remain one of the best sportscars/ drivers'cars ever!! maybe a real future classic !!
Well done. Worthy questions and well reasoned conclusions, unlike so many comparison tests.
Glad you found us! Thanks for watching.
Great video and worth the wait. It's interesting to hear how there was no clear winner.
The production value of these videos is some of the best around! I'd watch this with the audio off simply to take in the sites.
Got goosebumps at 2:37 when you synced the violins to images of the cars. Bravo.
Great review first time subscriber 👏🏽👊🏽
Glad you found us! Thank you for subscribing and commenting!
wooww my 2 favourite cars are in the same video!!! I would have a big trouble to choose one if I could buy one of them.
(When you drive a Honda Fit every day, let's just say the FRS feels plenty fast.)
The car I really wanted as a weekend car was a Boxster S.
Was just thinking I haven't seen an everyday driver video in a while.
We only missed a week lol
Hah I wasn't thinking you guys were late just that I haven't watched one of your videos in a while.
Slacker! lol
Hey it's not my fault that MT and C&D decide to do their massive road tests Aug-Sept. :)
BigHeadClan It's true. I spent my morning watching MT as well. Just razzing ya ;)
todd makes the best metaphors and analogies. simply wonderful
Go back and watch yourself you were happier in the Porsche
Excellent comparison. You guys deserve a lot more subs !
It's such a shame that you can't order a new 981 anymore. Truly an amazing car.
I'm not a needy person, but I want your roads...
I love this show ! You guys are the best at showcasing cars, hands down. No B.S. just driving and telling it like it is!
I would probably choose the Cayman. It's just so beautiful, and the build quality is so insanely good. The M2 may be more practical, and I love practical cars, but the Cayman just seems like such a more high-end product.
the gts is the easy choice for me! the way the car gets out of a corner is just pure for a driver
Incredible job as always. Astounding quality.
I had 60k and I was ready to get myself an M2. Then I realized, where I live, they were charging 110k for it (base)
Great review! In the market for a 718 S and love these reviews. Keep up the good work!
Love your channel guys, thanks for the great videos!
You guys always deliver, please never stop making these great videos 👍🏼
Haven't finished watching yet but I'm loving the music so far. Especially at around 2:30. You guys did a great job filming this
Motor Trend needs to take some tips from you guys. This is phenomenal work! Better than MT by far! Thanks for the awesome review!
Great review guys. Interesting about the power delivery. I found the DCT to be just the opposite in my review. Immediate power everywhere. I also couldn't help but compare it to a Cayman. Both great cars! BTW, you guys were my inspiration back with your original Cayman review. keep up the good work.
Great job guys. If the GTS was stick, it would get my vote hands down. But PDK GTS vs 6MT M2? Yikes, good luck picking one.
Love Everyday Driver! Stick with the Porsche Paul. The flat 6 is beautiful, PDK is very nice, but everyone loves manual. Beautiful blue color. I love BMW just like you, but even if its an M..Porsche makes proper sports cars and I'd take a Porsche over a M powered BMW anyday.
they guys have unrivaled production value for a youtube car show. amazing.
The Cayman GTS is grossly more expensive now. :(
The cheapest Cayman GTS for sale in the US right now is 74,000!
Todd & Paul, you fellas are great hosts! Entertaining & full of information. Great video!
I'm a fan!
Keep both!
Easily the GTS
Right now I'm driving a 228i xDrive with snow tires in the winter, but every single time I get in h
this car I miss the manual.
Another great video guys! I always enjoy your channel!
Great video guys. Can't lose with either car.
wow. another great review guys. I wish I had your job. you two are living the dream.
How do you feel about the cars now about 6 months later? I'm faced with this dilemma myself right now. My M2 arrives in 4 weeks but I can't stop shopping for a used cayman gts. Any insights?
quemepaso04 I am in a similar situation, what did you decide?
Such a Great Vid Guys!! "Win-win" is the perfect description of these two honey's.
I agree. A great video. I do love both marque's, but right now I'm going with Porsche.
I love this channel. Thanks for putting out all these quality videos.
