- Venture capitalist, Bill Tai, has been at the intersection of venture capitalism and innovation since the early days of Silicon Valley before the orchards were replaced with technology company corporate headquarters. He joins Real Vision’s Raoul Pal to provide his uniquely qualified perspective, having experience on both the technology development and financing sides of Silicon Valley. Tai and Pal discuss data science, Tai’s explanation of the “waves of innovation,” and where Tai sees the next wave of innovation currently developing. They touched on it lightly, but the question of government oversight needs to be addressed. We can have all these kumbaya moments of virtual communities and everyone getting along, but taxation and regulation will affect any system or systems that get big enough to show up on the radar.

The value of the petro-dollar based on our need for oil. Great insight. I can see the sense of an "electro-dollar" as a next stage of that. But there is still no such token attached to a service we need. I'm looking for a token to be attached to a service I need. I don't see one yet.

Wow.. fantastic interview! Bill is a true visionary. Can't wait for the future. (Blockchains can't scale for global participation and remain decentralised though. The base layer architecture needs a do-over, cos Layer 2/sidechains etc. scaling solutions are clunky and inefficient, and ultimately not the answer).
The base layer (btc) will be fed by Lightning, Liquid and XRP
51:37 How very interesting, there is much gratitude present for my habit of going off on tangents, and finding this. I have been considering that, my focus I refined in 2011 to leave tv and gaming to begin a mission to connect with like minded (more or less) heart centered people to build friendships with, and that moved from the comments to a weekly show, to a brand ambassador for an empowerment label in England as my 29 year plan ended a little early, I connected with one who opened the door to circles of friends that were actually interested in my opinion, relationships grew rapidly in number, as the second mission began, to Spotlight Angels.

On the edge. Such innovative conversations is where the 'sizzle' happens. The last time I reviewed such a conversation we were discussing innovations of Block Chain expressed in digital contract resolution. I got so intellectually excited I looked around to invest and discovered it's only market presence was in Bitcoin at .87 cents. Glad I invested in it, but sad some idiot pushed it as a currency. Sold into the frenzy around $18k. Isn't that just the way. A new path forward appears then it gets hijacked by pump and dumpers. It's rather like discovering the wheel, then the population spends it time flipping it end over end to the destination. Keep up the great work RVF
