  • In today’s video, we go in depth on how we created our new and improved kicker motor bar. We walk through all the steps and tools needed to make the bar, while explaining what issues we had with the old one.

Thanks again for the videos. I was able to make one in 1 hour then a other 1 hour to adjust
I cheated a bit used a 1/2" tube as a sleeve as I had more complex bend less space. Once I got two sides bent I brought them together inside the sleeve and welded it.
Ended up with a 3/8 heim joint it was lower profile with gease fitting.
    Thank you again

Thanks for walking us through how to make this connection rod. I need to do the same thing on my boat and your video was a big help on what to look for.
One comment on using dies for threading as I have done this a lot at work is to use a tap and die lubricant on the die and shaft and a die handle will help. We only cut 1/2 of a rotation before backing the die up and then cut again allowing the cut material to fall out. This seems to cut a cleaner thread and less breakage of the threads.

Glad you found this helpful. And a really appreciate your input and tips for cutting with the die . We will definitely use lubricant and only cut halfway before backing out next time 👍.

try using seasucker suction cups. One on each engine and connect the two with a bar that is cut to length. Works good and very easy.

Will have to try that, thanks for the suggestion!

When cutting threads use some oil and start the clockwise cut go full turn then back up 1/4 turn this drops the chips out of threads. continue full turns back up 1/4 turn then proceed process until completed. You can actually feel this helping while cutting threads

Thanks for this video. It really helps since I have the same boat (Sea Hunt 20 late 99s, right?). The high walls on the transom stumped me as to how I would tie the kicker to the main. It looks like you added a T to the fuel line going to the main engine to feed fuel to the kicker. Is that right? If so, confirming no issues with fuel flow to the main. I am guessing not unless you run both at the same time.

Glad you found our video helpful. You are correct, this is a 2002 sea hunt triton 202. Regarding the fuel line to the kicker, yes it uses a T in the fuel line and I have had no problems with it as I never run them both except maybe at idle. This was setup that way when we bought it. Enjoy the videos and let us know if you have other questions.

Thank you for your video! Very informative. Can you also tell me which kicker bracket you have installed on your boat? I am looking to replace bracket and I would appreciate your response. Thanks again!

We have a panther marine kicker bracket. Has been great for us.
