Useful to see it stripped right back. I've just cleaned and greased my cable up after only managing to get half the turn to starboard that I should be getting. Keep the videos coming, they are always informative.
Mine snapped when I took it out fishing today. Good thing it happened in the marina. I just moved it by hand across the water to the launch. Thanks for uploading this video. I now have a weekend project to do.
That was such a helpful video. I do have a boat but yet to go out on it. i had it on a pully system but it got beached so now having to check it all over. This has definitely helped me and your way of explaining things makes it so much easier. I hope the young fella has the enthusiasm that you have. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, very helpful. My cable snapped in a very similar way, luckily I was very near to my mates cottage. Went round in circles until I just turned the outboard by hand, I'm glad he didn't see my struggles 😅
Great video. I did mine today and for some reason I’m not getting full steering and only 3 turns on the wheel. Im wondering if I somehow messed up putting the cable in the helm.
Thanks for making this excellent video. Completely understandable and just what I was looking for . Is a rack and pinion Teleflex used on boats like yours with an outboard?
Great video! Recently purchased a boat and trying to get it ready for this year but steering cable is very tight. Quick question - when both ends of steering cable are disconnected from the Outboard and the wheel will the inner of the cable pull out to allow us to lubricate it?
Hi, is it still possible to stear the engine manually by hand when there is a hydraulic system mounted on the board please? I wonder if it makes any harm to the hydraulic system. Thank you.

How did you manage the 10 miles back to your home port with no steering? Great demo of the repair. Thanks.
