Bonnie was married to another man who was in prison at the same time as Clyde. They were a real couple who robbed banks in the 1920s. They were shot and killed by law enforcement officers in an ambush. Faye Dunnaway played Bonnie in the Bonnie and Clyde movie of the 60s. Faye went on to do Broadway Theater shows where she failed to even win a Tony Awards. It is a play on words on that line as well since Bonnie was a failed actress on the stage as well. Bonnie won this whole battle all by herself since she was the one being savage while Romeo is a simp through this battle.
Oh really?! Wow, this is the first time I've heard that Bonnie & Clyde were a real life couple and that there was a movie about them. I guess you taught me my something new for the day. It makes much more sense now why they were shot at the end of the ERB. I feel like the women on both sides did much better than the men. I like a few of the lines Romeo had, but Clyde was a total simp when he told Romeo to go and handle his Missus.
@@katherinejaymes2579 Both couples "ended" the battle the way their stories went. When Romeo thought Juliet was dead, he killed himself to "be with her forever". Then when Juliet came back and realized Romeo was dead, she killed herself as well. This is also the reference Bonnie and Clyde have for the bar "Cause if these lovers cross me, they're gonna end up seeing stars" = Star-crossed lovers = "phrase describing a pair of lovers whose relationship is often thwarted by outside forces. The term encompasses other meanings, but originally means the pairing is being "thwarted by a malign star" or that the stars are working against the relationship." And then as mentioned, Bonnie and Clyde were in Louisiana when the police ambushed and killed both of them, pretty much like that. Their getaway car had holes in it, and they took it on tour around the US in the 40's. Bonnie's parents refused to allow Bonnie to be buried next to Clyde. They were buried in different cemeteries in Dallas, and Clyde was buried next to his brother (who had also been in the Barrow Gang.) Also, the amazing line by Juliet "He will do upon thine dick what you have done upon your toe!" -- So when Clyde was in prison, he didn't want to do the hard labor on the chain gang, so he CUT OFF 2 TOES with an axe in hopes of being transferred to a less harsh prison. The huge irony of this was that not only did this cause him a permanent limp, and he couldn't wear shoes while driving....he was released on parole six days after doing it.
Everybody missed the first line, when Clyde says "I'll handle this darling, I'm known to fire some BAR's". That line had two meanings, 1 bars as in rap bars, and 2 as in BAR's, as in Browning Automatic Rifles, a machine gun that was fully automatic that you couldn't buy today if you wanted to. His gang robbed a lot of banks and became folk heroes for it during the great depression, when everybody hated the banks, and they were notorious for using BAR's in shootouts with police. It wasn't until police finally bought the same high powered weapons that they were able to actually kill them in the end.
Thank you so much! You're support means a lot to us. Yes, 600 already. This is soooo much fun. 😄 It's been great meeting a lot of awesome people (like yourself) from all over the world. It's mind blowing to know that people are watching from other countries! 😲
For me, Juliet is the dark horse of ERB honestly. I thought this matchup was going to be weird . I thought that Romeo and Juliet couldn’t possibly have any chance of dissing Bonnie and Clyde using old English after Romeos first line. Her bars were so hard and unexpected; yet still retained their Shakespearean eloquence wench with the neck of a chicken You’re not a true romance You’re just a conjugal visit Oh, but that’s not even your real husband now, is it? And then the last one, “what irony is this?the lead role shot down by a failed actress” Bonnie and Clyde do have my favorite line of the battle “spit sick like a plague on both your houses” but Romeo and Juliet took the match for me. The joke at the end is that Bonnie and Clyde were shot to death in a gunfight when the police finally caught up with them Also; If you guys do pause the video at points in these reactions, I’d suggest just going back a little bit before the pause because there are a lot of ERBS where it’s actually the flow makes the punches rather than just the bars themselves. You’ll get way more out of these guys’ vids of you do. It’s also more fun for us when you guys watch them and catch the goodies!
Hey, Andrew! Thank you so much for the thorough comment. We love chatting with people! When someone first told us about this rap battle, I thought the pairing was somewhat weird, since these couples are so different. However, Romeo and Juliet really surprised me! I too would say that they (especially Juliet) won. The lines you mentioned were probably her best lines. Romeo did quite well when he mentioned Bonnie and Clyde shoving their chicken sh*t a... back into their ford! From what I can remember, Bonnie and Clyde didn't impress me as much. So, I don't think I have a favorite line from them. They were still fun to watch though! Ohhhh. We were wondering who shot them. We LOVE your tip for going back a few seconds after pausing the ERBs! Thanks so much for suggesting that. We'll be sure to do so during the next erb. 😀
The ending is in reference to the fact that the police shot Bonnie and Clyde which is how they died right after Romeo & Juliet died they way they did in their book so that means back then police shot white people for crimes unlike today

Bonnie met up with Clyde by being a conjugal visit to him in prison. At some point, Clyde cut off his own toe as proof of a kidnapping I think.
