Julia Child served for the United States in France during WW 2. She was part of what we call the CIA today. Julia was trained in French cooking after the war which is why you hear the French words in her rap. They are mainly cooking terms.
Her lines about the 30 year timer is when she attacked his anger issues when he was abused as a child and 30 years later, he became a huge douchbag.
The part about the Big Bird is that Julia was tall when she was alive, and Miss Piggy is about her body shape and her cooking with butter.
I gave it to Julia on this one since she dropped the mic. It was a way to tell Gordon to shut the hell up. Plus, there was an episode back in 2010 on another show that Gordon Ramsey ate Rocky Mountain Oysters aka Bull Testicles. So, that last line was also a sharp insult to Gordon.
Erb definitely does their research when writing these clever bars for battle!

The "Michelin Man" reference was taking a jab at her because she was overweight. Google an image of the Michelin Man, and you'll see what I mean.

To really get in the depths of the Julia Child references go watch "Julie & Julia", a lot with click on her life being mentioned, especially about France and why she holds it to such high regard.
For the Michelin reference, it has a double meaning. It is a reference to the Michelin stars, which they award for excellence in cooking, as well as the mascot for the tire company.
Gordon called Julia "Big Bird" because Julia Child was close to 6 Feet Tall (so many men had to look Up to her, literally), and he called her Miss Piggy because a lot of her recipes involve the use of Butter.
@The Bog 'Ole Yes, but he mentioned Miss Piggy in the same line so he was comparing her to Sesame Street and Muppet characters.
@The Bog 'Ole I also remember him using that term on his show "Hell's Kitchen" when a customer inquired as to why Gordon had such a sad look on his face and he replied "I am in a kitchen with a bunch of Muppets". This was the first "Black Jacket" service, so contestants that had previously been on opposing teams now had to work together in one kitchen.

Being that Julia was a spy (CIA ) for France ol Gordon would get schooled on the Mic and in the yard. I guess really in order to get how bad she stomped him you have to know some stuff about Julia and some context on how she carried herself as a person.

Michelin decided to put out pamphlets to draw people out of their homes to take day trips in order to sell more replacements.
The pamphlets described place to go and things to do easily.
One of these things was going out to eat while at the attraction or area of entertainment.
They would rank the food options in the area.

Oh my. I've never heard of or seen this show. Going to have to look into what it was about. How can a show with a name like that have anything to do with cooking? Not surprised though. He says that word a lot.

My problem with Gordon is he just kept taking cheap shots at her appearance. Julia got him where it hurts and where it counts; his personality.
I can agree with that. Since reading y'alls comments, I understand both sides' lyrics much better. Sounds like Gordon only mentioned her appearance and took a couple jabs at the health (or lack there of) of her cooking. Julia seemed to really dig into his history and his character! Julia for the win!

And I remember on Yahoo News a few years ago there was an article about a young chef who wrote to him about the difficulty and frustration he was going through trying to get his foot in the door.
Ramsey's response was actually very encouraging and understanding. He even offered to hire the guy on a trial basis.

@@katherinejaymes2579 Given the state of YT copyright enforcement these days, pausing often is the safest course. Now I know that ERB creators themselves won't, but the way YT applies the rules is so loose, some middleman could swoop in ("hey, it';s free real estate"), and strike a whole bunch of channels into oblivion before they get stopped...and once channels get deleted, they are difficult if not impossible to retrieve, especially if you've got a small sub base (meaning, not in the 100's of thousands). Better safe than sorry!
