Ordered mine from B&H January 31 and got it delivered 10 days later. It’s not super sharp as my Leica lenses but I’m getting interesting shots with it. It’s “cheap” and why not, give it a try!
I've been using the 35mm version for a few months now and I looove the rendering from this lens. If it is a branch from a cinema lens company then I would totally see that. Primarily using it on M camera's but I did test it out on the ZF with good results (using the voigtlander adapter). It is a little quirky with the focus lock and the close focus is a little odd just because there isn't much in terms of focus throw in that range, so the focus moves a lot with tiny adjustments. I don't mind the focus lock, I am used to it from using other lenses that also have it. Honestly an underrated M mount lens. I find that is gives really great sharp in focus results while still retaining some vintage rendering and nice fall off.
Glad you’re enjoying it! I think I’m settling on the LLL 35mm whenever that time comes, but man they’re making it tough. What M bodies are you shooting on?
I ordered from them directly in January and they said it would be early Feb for delivery. I mailed them towards the end of Feb to see when it was going to arrive and they now say they hope it will be early March (their sales page says late Feb delivery). It seems they're having a lot of issues supplying the lenses and hopefully not leaving us direct orders at the back of the queue. Your comment not to order directly is worrying! 😅There's no stock with B&H either so I can't cancel and just buy direct. Looks like a great lens even with some of its weirdness, thanks for your thoughts on it. Hopefully I'll get mine in the next week or so otherwise I'll have to go with the Voigtlander 28 1.5.
I would check again with B&H. They shipped mine in two days just last week. Thypoch was very quick and respectful about refunding my money when I was concerned it would take even longer.
I ordered mine in mid Feb and recieved it a week later in late Feb directly from China. Since the last digits of the SN of my copy are in the los 300, I assume it is from the First batch. I would sugest, reorder and cancel your First purchase
@@tobiasschmidt1662 oh that's weird, where are you based? I'm in the UK. They told me to order through B&H and then cancel with them if B&H managed to fulfil it first as they can't guarantee me that it will be in the next few weeks. Seems a bit mad.
Are you using CineGrade? If so, maybe dial down the halation. Other settings seem to be dialed down since the "film look" CineGrade normally provides can't be seen. Other than that, great video - great review :)
All stock Photoshop and Davinci Resolve plugins. Try to keep it fairly subtle, but it’s only 8 bit so that may contribute to fragile footage. Appreciate you watching!
100% it’s supposed to have a stop there, then a bit of a jump. In practice, it takes knowing that will happen and can get a little finicky with a close focus adapter. Almost better to let it stop at .7 then move the helicoid
It’s pretty compact without the hood. Maybe twice that of my Elcan, without going to check dimensions. I think factoring in the body it’ll be on though, there’s not much of a perceived difference when carrying it. I ended up putting the squared hood back on it and leaving it on after this video.
Yeah most of the references I am seeing are with the hood on. I've got a sigma FPL so all lenses look big on it haha. Good to see more people doing reviews of this lens.@@LIGHTHUNTER.D
Didn't you catch that he said (at about 1:57) he's had a Black Pro Mist filter on the lens for all the photos (pretty strong one by the look of those lights in the garage photo). The little black speckles on the Black Pro Mist mute the sharpness and promote haziness. Just like the hazy effect the video shot in his studio has.

Glad you’re enjoying it too! I prefer a cinema look to over contrasty sharpness personally.
I ordered as soon as it was available on bh, got it 3 days later it’s a fun lens. Got character wide open but sharpened up stopped down a bit.
Love the classic rendering and the design is very interesting. Thanks for the review.
Appreciate you watching 🫡

@@LIGHTHUNTER.D the M10-p and M5.
@@wheezzy101 killer setup! If TTArtisan goes a different direction or doesn’t do an M rangefinder, I’m saving for a full M10-P setup.

Good shots, you're doing alright keep going I got 100 subs first year! (well I was goofing around)
Thank you! Long way to go

i guess that stiffness for close focus is for rangefinder users to understand the rangefinder cant accurately shoot past .7 meters

How is the size feeling for a manual focus lens? I feel like I look at it and it just feels big compared to everything.

What camera are you using, maybe I missed it…
Nikon Z7
Pictures aren't that sharp, it's a bit worrying
Plenty on my end. Always have to consider RUclips compression and being rendered in a 4K timeline. They’re 47mp files.

You don’t need a cheap Chinese lens
Cope + your loss
You don’t need it, but you certainly want it ;)
