Besides Mr. Hillman’s brilliant career in music, I will always have a tender spot in my heart for a kind thing he did for me. He was touring with Roger McGuinn in the late 1970’s, and I had an opportunity to interview them in the club’s green room for a local FM radio station. I did a full choke job upon meeting those two giants, and became speechless. Chris took my mic and recorder, and interviewed Roger himself! They did an SPA (station promotion announcement) and shook my hand. A painfully funny memory of a true gentleman.
I thought it quite funny that no one seemed to recognise this iconic classic until Chris started singing !. Being a child of the '60's some tune's you just know with the opening few note's.....
Chris is one of those MUSICIANS that never ran his mouth on Political Rants nor made much of his many great Bass & Guitarist skills and voice has impressed .... and along with Stills (Manasass) David C. & Gene C. & McGuinn (Birds) Flying Burito Bro.s etc .... always liked his style and talent. Many thanks for his class and contribution to great music. GBjj
Wish I lived in the good ole USA so I could go see Chris perform again. Haven't seen him since the days of the Byrds and he's now been able to shine as thegreat musician and singer I always believed him to be. Keep it up Chris one day I'll find a way be at one of your performances !! 🤞
I wish I could have been their to see him , this place , doseydoe is so epic for its small stage and old wooden walls for acoustic warmth of tone . 5 minutes from my home of the time . I missed the gathering
Todo lo que este en la estela de Hank Williams,Gene Autry,Porter Wagoner, etc. es bueno.Chris Hillman es mitico.Ah!,como no el gran Gram Parsons.Y viva Stephen Stills.🏜️💮🆓🐦
He does throw it in during the intro and instrumental breaks along with a bit of Mcguinn's lead line...nice playing. I agree, it's a cool part to play on the bass that really carries the tune.
Saw you in Richmond VA with the Rick Roberts Burritos. A drunk kept leaning on the extension cord on the edge of the stage, cutting out all yer mikes. HiTech. We're the guys who escorted him away. WE didnt beat him up. BTW great arrangenebt on R&R star. Chris you are one helluva guitar player. I know yer a mandolin virtuoso, and star of "The Pump House Gang". TomWolfe book.
The Byrds leadership didn’t use him up to his full potential. He could out pick any of the players except Clarence White. He could sing harmony, play guitar and mandolin so they stuck him on bass. He did an admirable job but he always looks so board. I’d have love to have heard a close harmony duet with him and David Crosby.

So magnificent that evening or night.Giants & Legends of music.Extraordinary.✌️
I can remember when Chris Hillman was a fresh-faced 17-year old playing for the Byrds. God, I must be old.
Chris Hillman has been one of my favorite recording artists since the 1960s.❤
wish he would tour again
@@kmslegal7808I agree with you amigo! ✌️

Music of the byrds, my favourite group of the sixties. What a true story of those days
Mr. country rock, such a talent.
Chris Hillman is the greatest guy of the Country Rock scene. I discovered his music when I was 15, now I'm 57 and still enjoying!
66 here ...

Love this. Saw Chris play with The Flying Burrito Bros in the late 70's in a small club...just awesome!
was Graham Parsons with him?

One more Byrds Reunion please!
Herb Pederson is an unknown treasure..
Yes indeed. Gram was the magic tho. Such a sad life. From Auburndale Fl to Harvard to to LA and the Byrds, Getting high with the Stones. WIld Horses.
Hram is a well known treasure
Treasure - yes. Unknown - hardly.
Such a skilled player, love his stuff. man sooo good.
Great rendition! Chris had his hand in BIG TIME on "Younger Than Yesterday."
Chris is right up on top of my list of best performers and musicians. The man is incredible!
dudes can still play and sing great..
Classic duo......a history of talent there!
I would love to see Hillman play, got to see mcguinn play and seeing him again in a few months, want to see Hillman though to
Saw Chris, Herb and John Jorgenson this week in a small venue. Still got it. A very special treat.

I saw him in Spokane.
Awesome! So fun to go back in time and memories.
Wow! Thanks for the memories, Manassas was a groovy group.

Don't forget his blissful harmonies in The Desert Rose band
Legend.
As good as it gets!
G to A G to A …love that progression to break out this tune
Excellent!
very good
Ironically from an era more focused on music than production and marketing. IMHO
It's great but I wish Hillman's fantastic bass line was in there, too. Ever try playing it? He actually reverses the chord sequence but it WORKS!

I never got to see them. :( Oh boy, cant go back. )
fab

I just love this. It loses nothing in the translation.
Remember Chris had a Afro hair when with manasass

bit of banter to begin with....gentle ribbing...makes it so real
Good Homage to Roger photo of you and your glasses. IN that photo you look like Julian Lennon with Roger McGuinns glasses.on.
Cheers
Sounds great. It’s hard to hit those high notes when you get older
Given the opening line to the song, isn't it ironic this is on acoustics?
THEY ARE MISSING CROSBY, THE MIDDLE VOCAL....................................
Probably saving quite a few points on their blood pressure
Who actually wrote this song?
Jim (Roger) Mcguinn and Chris Hillman
He should know he was in the Byrds.
Quarantine times
You must mean the “ plandemic “ .
Man so FROSTY
Stop talkin and start playin
Nah, it doesn’t really work on acoustics
I liked it!
