I think for STEM research is more important. I had 3.6 GPA which is definitely not “strong” comparing with those 4.0s. But I had 5 publications and participated in some competitive math contests. I would say the research experiences lead me to MIT math PhD this year. Also not just ur hair looks beautiful. You are stunning.
I would love to see a video about why you’re going back to the US for your PhD! I am so intrigued by the differences between educational systems! Good luck, by the way!! 👏🏻💕
Kaelyn, this may be a bit informal, how do you approach students and faculty especially with interviews, because, my experience has been quite bad. Graduate students even at Yale haven't been very supportive, they don't even reply most of the times. Only some faculties have replied but, they don't seem too keen or interested. Am I doing something wrong? Do you have any tips for approaching them? Thank you for your videos. They are very helpful. To give you some context. I'm a law student from India. I'm looking forward to applying for a PhD in South Asian Legal History.
Hi! So I'm definitely not Kaelyn, but i would say if you are reaching out in a respectful way and you feel like no one cares enough to respond or that they are ignoring you ... it could be a sign that the culture at that program may not be best for you. Of course ppl are busy all the time and may miss you email or messages so always politely follow up after a few weeks of waiting. But if they still aren't accessible it might not be a place where your want to go after all... you could also reach out to admissions or see if there are any student groups that have students who are familiar with the program to widen your net of who to contact, but always remember you want a school that fits you just as much as you fit it! I know that didn't directly answer your question but i hope it helps a little bit
Most of the time I would have interviews with professors first and if it went well I would ask if they’d be willing to put me in touch with one of their current PhD students
Thank you for your video! Very insightful. I was wondering if you'd be willing to make a video or share your personal statement template and what to include?
do you think applying with a 3.2/3.3 GPA is considered low for applying for a phd program? do they take into consideration what undergrad university you went to or it doesn't matter?

CONGRATS TO YALE BOO!!!
How do u reach the advisors at different grad schools? Who do u usually talk to? The prof or the advisors? Also, what will u say?
How were you able to get a hold of current graduate students? I’m struggling to get a deeper view into programs (like you said not much info online).

I have a personal statement video coming soon!
I was wondering about the same thing and was looking to find out if that video has been made... Thank you for all of the great content.

This is very much dependent on your subject!
Do u believe that the GRE score is very important for competing programs?
This depends on how the program weighs the GPA - every department is different!
Hello! I am going through this process now and would appreciate your insight in asking for and conducting these informational interviews! 🥰
I want u but I can't..
