- It's "jailbreak Friday" at dukes.me/hazzar... ! Today's clip is from the 1st season Dukes of Hazzard episode, "Double Sting." This is one of the more elaborate schemes the Dukes pulled to escape hospitality of the Hazzard County Jail. Thing is, they weren't even locked up - they were kept there under quarantine orders, due to a bad guy in the downstairs jail faking a disease. The first season of the Dukes is easily the best season of the show in my opinion. It was much more creative, innovative, and a little racy. While it's true that the season was tamed slightly after the first 5 episodes, the characters and were never as dumbed down as they would become in the remaining seasons of the show. In my opinion, turning the Dukes into a dumb show with repetitive storylines for kids was a big mistake.
shelton705 yeah unfornalty the cast cooter roscoe told the producer to clean up the foul language and not add any drug sex. or violet acts in the show since they found out that kids were watching the show what ashame the Georgia episode's were so much better
charger master I agree, and the first season didn't have any fake scenery like the other seasons. Still one of my favorite shows.
@@chargermaster8740 It was also largely cuz the network moved them to the 8pm time slot where stricter rules about content came into play compared to 9pm. The Georgia episodes were definitely the best though. No green screens, 100% filmed on location, and just racy enough to be fun, but never offensive.

No! They were quarantined because it was part of a plot for the robbery of the Hazzard Bank. A trio of crooks named Wendell, Irving, and Tom Colt staged a plot in which Colt did a hit and run on Bo and Luke while he was driving his blue sedan and the Duke Boys were in the General Lee. Bo and Luke ran into Colt in the Boar's Nest and engaged him in a fight for grabbing at Daisy, and Rosco arrested all three of them. Once he was in jail, Colt pretended that he had caught bubonic plaque and Doc Petticord quarantined Colt, Bo, Luke, Uncle Jesse, Rosco, Enos, and Boss inside the jailhouse. While Wendell and Irving robbed the bank.
Colt later revealed to Bo and Luke that he had a severe allergic reaction to poison ivy, he had apparently stuck a piece of poison ivy underneath his shirt sleeve which gave him a rash, and he faked other symptoms like dizziness, headache, fever, etc.
