- Like the rest of the world, the gap between Bengaluru's rich and poor is widening. How does the city deal with the consequences of this fact? What is the step taken to help the city's homeless, and has that step worked?

Thanks to the DH team for bringing news that is not from the mainstream.
To all those volunteers and NGOs 🙏🏻
Good to know BBMP is funding few shelters.
Absolutely
This is what journalism reporting should be
Wion is my go to and I hope Wion has programs about grassroot people and what are their difficulties. I am very suspicious of organisations who give aid but have ulterior motives _ eg. Converting or stopping anyone from escaping control freaks. You see some organisations doling out food and clothing but not getting the people skilled and getting them into jobs. Instead some organisation gets fat salaries at the hands of the poor
This is a glimpse of what journalism should be and we need more of this
I congratulate Deccan Herald for broadcasting social issues concerned to poorest of the poor.
this is called responsibility..This initiative serves 100 of people, which is appreciable...
Thank you, Lakshmi, Asha and everyone involved in the upkeep of the programme.
They are good people
Hi this is a real problem globally.I wish that everyone come together to erase poverty and homelessness from the earth.thank you for your work
the solution isnt to erase the current homelessness, its to get to the route cause of why ppl are getting homeless in the first place and to erradicate that problem.

Mahalakshmi is smiling and speaking so sweetly despite having a husband that threw her out and doing a physically exhausting work daily.
Yeah , She is really inspiration for people to work hard every single day , I have conflicts with my mother , she told me to get out of house and look for another house. looking for another house . Many parents dont care about children.
Mahadevi lady full respect
This is really inspiring, let all those homeless live peacefully and earn as well. If this is done ward wise then no one will be homeless 😊
Thanks DH team for making a video about this. As a person not originally from Karnataka, I wasn't even aware that the city provides homeless shelters
I'm learning a lot about my city from these DH videos. Thank you for making and sharing these important stories, and keep up the excellent work!
You city!?
Thanks to the DH team for bringing news that is not from the mainstream. Thanks to who are the people behind the initiative.
We can't choose where we born...so just help who ever needs
ತುಂಬಾ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಅಕ್ಕಾ ಒಳ್ಳೇದಾಗ್ಲಿ 🙏
It is encouraging to see this kind of news covered. I am also glad to see that shelters are being created. Perhaps more shelters could be created in all areas where they are necessary. Volunteers could help in creating shelters. Unemployed people could be given jobs to clean up the streets, plant trees. maybe patches of land could become vegetable gardens. Bangalore can become a model city for the rest of India to emulate. Garbage free garden city with no homeless people.
This is lovely. Congratulations on some serious journalism, DH!
I really appreciate the reporting that is coming from DH! Keep it up and please continue to report on real news
Good job, Deccan Herald... Continue such stories of the unknown Bengaluru
Excellent reporting. Look forward to part 2 of how these ended up homeless and if we can do something to help
Having worked in one of the NGO's before I really understand how difficult it is to convince people to leave their comfort zone (alcohol, money, drugs etc..) and come live in such shelter homes... So in that regards well done to Lakshmi and Asha👏...
As far as people go I would really urge them not to encourage beggars however harsh it may feel 🙏... Then only those people value such shelter homes and change or the samething would keep continuing...
What do you mean by money?
@@akIndia10 money by begging on streets
One should really appreciate this kind of stories on main stream news media. DH Bengaluru is doing a great job bring out many small but meaningful stories which can never be seen otherwise.
There could be a lakh population living on the streets in cities like Bengaluru, I wondered if anyone cared about these people..
They appeared to be the living dead lying around unhygienic inhumane living conditions . But initiatives like this are much required to bring awareness, give them confidence and bring them an opportunity to live a dignified life.
Great job from the govt. n other NGOs, much more needs to be done in this regards to bring in a societal change as this population could be in lakhs as mentioned earlier...
More support and strength to the NGOs working tirelessly across many streams.
Beautifully done.. Heart warming one side plus feel a Lil sad.. Hope every one on this earth has access to a sweet home to go back too one day
There should be some info on how to help such noble initiatives.

Great respect to them for doing such a noble job and great repect to DH for covering their stories
True journalism👏👌, good information to know Bengaluru also provide homeless shelter like foreign countries not only that convincing them to come to the shelters is really challenging👍👌
This is one step closer to smart City... thank you for taking this decision
Good work by Deccan herald team letting us know these real stories
A good initiative by BBMP and the NGOs. Even if they are working, let them stay there beyond the max time given. Maybe they can take a small fee from such people who have employment. The Govt should open more such centres and take financial support from all the big corporates in this city.
What an excellent report! I love DH stories like this.
Kudos to the team who made this story 🙏
Thanks DH team for this wonderful initiative in bringing to light the efforts being made top provide night Shelters to the Homeless. This is a massive problem and needs the Politicians and Leaders to spend some part of their time for this problem. Afterall, this activity will not bring them Votes.
Excellent work!!
Inspiring..!!
What a journalism, hats off
its very unfortunate to have such persons in our society, let's help them to contribute something good 😊
Every city needs to follow the footsteps of Bangalore ❣️
Salute to Mahadevi. She inspired me today. Thank you
How I can help financially some of these people who want to go back to their native ?.. really touched by positive approach and keeping beautiful smile on their face🙏
Great work, DH!
Thanks team to let us know there is one shelter like this
😮 Mahadevi🙏 . Thank you for the video
15 years back T Subba Rama reddy, ex MP of vizag started this shelters and helped 200 + people who are homeless.
Good work
Our government must support these homless people.
Hats of to all you help them
There are many lessons to learn from the pandemic & these brothers and sisters are the responsibility of the society till they return to their sustainable and respectful places.
Over all i have a great respect for Bangalorians they will manage it.
My good wishes & prayers 🙏.
Excellent initiative...
Beautiful initiative by bengluru 🙏
The power of humanity!
Hatsoff and Punya kelsa idu❤
🙏 Good job we support this
but Why ignoring people to come because of fear unknown people and Big city if they are facing something Nobody can help so
What a social responsibility
Please keep a record of what new government is doing in karnataka and make people aware of it
🙏💐 Best Wishes to NGO employees and the beneficiaries of these assistances 💐🙏
Also there are many charity scams which also originate in Bengaluru. I personally get scores of phone calls from random organisation basically misleading and extorting money. Guess people ultimately have to use their discretion
Excellent work by BBMP
Inspiring❤
Great work
Good work ❤
Good initiative
Good Decision!
thank you
Very inspiring
Fabulous job
DH is upholding the true essence of journalism in this age of Godi..kudos
Even if having such huge tax payer base in the city. Govt should justify such tax paying people by providing a decent society where these people get to live and overall image of city will also improve .....
Govt should incentivize businesses to hire such people .
I agree but for every 1 rupee Bangalore sends we get approx 39 paise. The remaining goes to North India
Good work, the madam should accompany a cop 🎉🎉
Other Metros should learn from Bangalore, God bless you DH team and B'lore
Nice
Encouraging work
Respect to asha maam 🙏
Kudos to DH
Too good

Maybe I’ll join soon!
I never knew something like shelther is available, seeing so many people on streets l used to feel very sad.
Love u guys
You know a women is serious with her work when you see her pinning a Pen to her hair. Mad respect Madam.
In Bangalore, even a beggar earns 50k -100k per month. I read somewhere
Request for similar Video for kolkata city.. Many homeless ppl there but i dont any siilar initiative.
HOMELESS SHELTER IS A BASIC RIGHT. GOVERNMENT SHOULD OPEN MORE FOOD BANKS
❤
I know d pain of not owning a house.. It pains deeply wen U stay in ur inlaws house.. I'm simply going vt d flow.. Just waiting to close my eyes..
This is IBlUR ,banglore night shelter.
Like to help, join hands
All situation in India Same
I'd like to monetarily help the shelters. How can I help?
Is there a portal where one can find information related to shelters around them. If I take my example if I meet somebody on the road asking for help and willing to get back on their own feet, no matter how much I want to, I can't help him in any other way except handling him some money.
Bangalore is not a foreign country so that you can focus a news on homeless, you will find them all over India
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks to DH. one thing govt(NGO)they need to give identity & need to provide training or awareness of pension system like NPS what they small amount earned will be helpful after 60years which may they get pension of every month.
DH ❤❤❤
