Great video and great information, Thank you.
Always mate.
Hey, great video! May I ask if you tested the filter on a wide angle lens and if so how did it perform in terms of any vignetting please?
I like the little sound effect on your titles
thanks mate.
have you tried their true color polarizers yet and would you be able to stack it on this one
Great Channel Peter !
Is a 1-5 stop VND enough to shoot on f2 with a Sony A7iV?
Hi Peter, have you seen the new Kolari R Magnetic Clip-In Filters? Iw ould love to hear your thoughts n these as can be used with any size lens and still work with traditional filters on the front of lens. Great idea i think,
How's this for photography?
peter please i have search everywhere but can't get a solutions, how can i adjust my mist filter 77mm on top of the nisi true color 77mm???.
it doesn't fit as the true color has different out put than the input it comes. you can put the mist filter before the nisi put you can't on top of it.
any help pleaze guys!!!!!
Glad I found this video before I bought Polar Pro ND Filter. Do you have any step up rings in particular you recommend? I’ll be getting the 77mm Nisi because my biggest lens (Sigma 85 1.4 Art) has that filter size, but I’m looking for step up rings from 55mm filter to use with the Sony 35mm 1.8 lens
I basically just buy the cheapest step up rings on Amazon.
If you could have played Floki would you done it?
Just FYI, the cap now has a cut-out so that the 'spigot' can remain in place. or should I say it does on my 82mm version. It would have been the easiest job in the world to create one anyway.
Tnx for the info. Does it have front thread, so one can stack another filter?
Hi peter, no it do not.
It does! You’ll have to check what the front filter thread is for whatever size you purchase, but for example my 77mm has an 82mm filter thread on the front.
Do you prefer the color accuracy of the Nisi filter, or the convenience of the Freewell Magnetic VND filters? Which ones end up being more practical to use?
Freewell
Which is better? Using variable nd filter or using 3 stop 6 stop nd filter and change iso for exposure?
Sony a7iv slog3 base iso is 800, which already add 3 stop above iso 100. Means 2-5 stop nd have only 2 stop remaining to adjust.
I prefer to use VND because it is easier to adjust the brightness on the go by turning the filter, than changing settings in the camera.
@@PeterMakholm Thanks for reply. If we leave easy use, which provide better quality video? Because some nd have colour cast or vignettes at wide.
I am gonna end up going with the freewell filter system
It is also a great solution. I have been using the freewell filters and they great.
They are alright, but they have a very strong tint.
Great video as always. Peter I thought the 180° rule referred to the angle you shoot a video for an interview or an over the shoulder type of scenario without crossing to the other side. I could be wrong but that's what I think the 180° rule is
Thanks. Yes that is a different 180 degree rule. I your camera has shutter angle. It will allow you to set it to 180 degrees. This will make sure that your shutter speed always is double your frame rate. And you do not have to change the shutter speed when changing framerate.
@@PeterMakholm i just learn something today. Kudos from Massachusetts
Do you actually use this filter? Have you noticed how much polarisation it has? It's terrible. I only wanted a variable ND, now I have a whole polariser that I can't get rid of :/
There are better brand than Nisi filter and cheaper, such as Haida and Kase. I bought the version 1 of this filter, i seldom use it and always kept in the dry cabinet. I have no idea why the coating of the filter broken, all little dots appear around the side of the filter, it is like the old lens coating fall off. Yes, this filter is cheap compared to PM filter, but the quality of the coating also not great, like i mention there are better brand out there than this NISI. Nisi filter has Poor coating and selling as premium products.
Interesting to hear. Thanks for providing your user feedback…
i just crank the shutter LOL
Classic mate….
what a filter DOES, not do.
