Just another sign of the pussification of our society, the obsession with virtue signaling and fake compassion, and our collective addiction to litigation.

First, people are stronger now than they've ever been, mentally.
Second, idk if you actually read the article lol. Franklin has a psych degree. He is not a doctor.

@@lvli044 I did - they said he "meddled" because he pushed back against availability decisions. So what? And he wasn't revoking a kid's scholarship he was replacing it with a non-athletic. The fact that a doctor wanted a suicidal kid to continue playing D1 football makes me question whether or not he has a medical degree.

@@davidk7212 What grounds does he have to make availability decisions? Is he a doctor now? And suicidal thoughts aren't a chronic condition and a medical dismissal is career ending. Which could worsen the athlete's condition.
Also, you're one virtue signaling and offering fake compassion. You should learn what words mean before you use them, but you seem to weak to actually challenge yourself to learn.

@@lvli044 You're living in a fantasy world. He's the coach. Football is a huge business. Winning is job. The doctor's job is to be extra conservative about safety. Thus they both pull in different directions and rightfully so. In any case, Franklin didn't defy or over rule the doctor, and we only have one side of the story - the side of somebody who was fired and is angling for a settlement.

@@davidk7212 You're making like 3 different arguments that imply the weakness of the others. Calm down. 1. You're the one acting as there's one side to the story and it's the side we don't have, funnily enough. You're automatically assuming malice on the part of the doctor before we even have Franklin's side, you're taking it.
      2. Surely you understand the power dynamics that exist between the parties yess?
      3. The doctor's job isn't to be "extra" conservative. It's to decide what's in the athlete's best interest which often includes a range of options. If Franklin was going outside that range, that would not be the way this should go down.

I listen to you guys and the BWI crew for PSU football info. I appreciate that you two are willing to not just talk recruiting and gameplay, but also these type of issues. BWI is scared to death to criticize JF. I suspect they believe by doing so they’ll lose their insider access to the program…..

The players at Vanderbilt tried to warn Penn State before they hired this guy but they did it anyway, we are now unfortunately stuck with a guy that is just flat out shady and unproductive !!!

I just "love" how the newspaper goes out of their way to make PSU sound as bad as possible. A program that has seen "it's fair share of scandals." Really???? So ONE big scandal is supposed to be a long history of scandals? Bullshit!
(And no, JVP trying to keep players out of trouble for minor altercations--as all college coaches did in that era--does not count as a scandal.)

Justin King for the level-headed win, again. 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Edit - the more I dig into this story, the more I agree with Justin's irritation about it. At its core, this case is about a Dr, who is a disgruntled person that didn't like the way he was being 'spoken to'. Not sure what he expected from a competitive coach.
What he got was discussion and pushback, and his sense of superiority was offended by that. Just look at the language here: "my assumption", "he was angry", "we were pressured", etc...
Weak and lame, stupid tantrum by a guy with a superiority complex not getting his way. These kinds of people are so tedious.

The pressure of winning. The first instance, mental and emotional issue, is about the motive and Franklin may simply have been thinking about the player's health and safety and he knew he will not lose his scholarship. The 2nd instance is the constant dynamic between coaches and doctors and the pressure on coaches to win.
