I’m usually indifferent to marble but this slab is literally gorgeous!! It’s so nuanced and has a unique pattern-and the colors 😍 You picked a winner!
Hey Drew, keep in mind that those kitchen lanterns are going to throw VERY yellow light all over everything! This will drastically change your paint colours. Red cabinets could easily show up as orange.
I was thinking the same thing 💯🤦🏽♀️. Perhaps he'll opt to change the amber glass panels, or find a replacement lantern with clear glass.

I’m concerned about the same thing too, kitchens need to be bright so you can see what you’re cooking lol I’m not sure the mood lighting is appropriate for kitchens Drew darling. I’m actually not keen on the lights you have chosen no pun intended to you Drew, I just don’t think they will match anything. The kitchen should probably be the modern part of your home Drew it’d be ashame to ruin the look of that beautiful marble, it’s to gorgeous to dull the grain colours down throughout the marble when you have gone to such lengths to get the marble placement the way you want it. Light that baby up Drew.
Also please don’t pick dark cabinets your kitchen will look like a dungeon sweetie, kitchens are not meant to be dark they look mediocre, unless it is hugely flooded with natural light it’s the only time you can get away with dark cabinets imo.
The floors look just stunning you have chosen very well the stain colours suit your home beautifully. Well done.

Great thought. I think the marble reads grey right now. I think green/grey Slate colored cabinets will blend w the amber lighting?

Floors & counter tops just wow! The craftsmen did such a beautiful job on everything! I’m so impressed with them… well, & not to mention your great taste! ❤️I love the lanterns you got for the kitchen! They are beautiful… I’m just not sure of the light quality for a kitchen! Style wise it’s perfect! I love the idea of the plaster finish! I have a friend who is a plaster artist! I have seen finished projects …. They are stunning! IT would be perfect for your new home! I agree everything is so beautiful. Although the amber glass in your lights are nice I feel like they are going to cast that yellowish light over everything and change your original vision. I’m wondering if you could get a clear reeded glass put in its place?? Just a thought.
Thankfully I have 6 recessed lights that provide ample amount of light at night (almost too much 😂) so these are purely decorative and I want to put a low wattage bulb just to illuminate the glass

Those floors - finished by magicians and a designer who is talented beyond mere mortals. The kitchen is also beyond belief. Not quite sure about the amber/yellow in the lamps' panes so am anxious to see them up and lit. Your home is going to be a true work of art!

That marble is BE-AU-TI-FUUUUL! LOVE IT! It should definitely stay the focal point. I think ornate tiles are going to compete with it and rob the attention that marble needs!

I think the stain company should name your 50/50 stain after you. It is beautiful! The marble sink area above it looks like a tray(?), and two arms/hands reaching for the tray(?), and it is a positively stunning result! I had purchased a slab, and my son cancelled it, and kept the money. My beautiful cabinets I had made are now gathering dust in the basement with the flooring. I pray there is never a flood. He stole the cabinet install money too. So it is so nice to see a person's dream kitchen become a reality. Makes me dream of what could have been. I had your excitement once, so it makes my heart swell with joy for you!
The colours of the floors are SO rich, it's incredibly beautiful! And kudos to the workers who are helping you fulfill your vision. I've been following the progress of this renovation and I can't help but notice how precise they are in their work. You guys make a great team!

The center piece of marble over your sink, from my perspective, looks like two hands reaching for a crystal 💙 it’s stunning 🤩
The floors look so soft with such a subtle sheen to them. Those gentlemen did a fabulous job with them. Wow. I love that you didnt tear them out and put down wide plank. This goes with the house so much better and it adds a nice texture. I realized when watching the marble reveal in the kitchen that a big reason why marble has become a bit ho hum in kitchens and bathrooms is because too many people opt for safe choices. Very subtle and used in the same same ways. THIS is anything but that. THIS is drama in the best possible way. The tones and colours and patterns and taking it so high up the wall and just .. well it’s just VAVOOM!! It. Is. Stunning. And it is so unique. Ive never seen slabs like this. Wow.
Oh- I just got it! Drew is designing this kitchen as a background 'theatrical set' for his RUclips/Instagram/other content. Yup now it makes sense; all the textures /patterns/surface finishes are to add color and background - just like a COOK SHOW - not a practical kitchen. My sudden insight came just now as I am baking bread and making a thick hearty stew- I thought THIS is what you want in the kitchen- a happy creative space with all the tools you need. My kitchen is a narrow galley like Drew's - but this is perfect for a REAL cook because everything is at hand. And I have to say you know a REAL kitchen because the cook has a radio/music player on countertop - lovely way to be in your creative' zone'.
I always stain the trim before I put on the wall.

THAT FOUNTAIN AT 12:32 IS GORGEOUS. Something like that would look so beautiful in your courtyard area - though I imagine it with different colors - when you get to that section of the updates etc. imagine it with a vintage sculpture. Ugh stunning 🥹

I am ALL for the reddish brown cabinets! 😍The first choice (cool toned brown) is also great. They match your moodboard inspo pics much better and the aesthetic you’re going for. While green is still gorgeous, yes it has become a little overdone and mainstream at this point.

Had to pause on the counter reveal, I think that corner looks really good and when everything is together, you won’t notice. When you stepped back, it doesn’t look bad or off at all! I love it so much!❤
LOVE the idea of green cabinets - it would being out the green tones in the marble so well. Though I understand about it being super trendy. I think a super deep green would be such a vibe though that would blend well with the pendants and the amber and gold faucet etc

Oh my gosh I nearly had a heart attack when you started staining the window trim over the marble with no plastic protection at the start! Looks so good.
I’m curious about his staining technique. I kept waiting for him to wipe them down after applying the stain. I noticed the same thing when he was testing stain colors on his floor. Is it no longer necessary to wipe off excess with the newer products ??

Hey Drew, The dark colored paint (whatever color) will make the kitchen seem smaller than it is. My kitchen was very dark and smaller than yours . . . when it was lightened up with paint it made all of the difference in the world. Also, the yellow light will change the colors as well.

Drew, you've got some of the best floor re finishers, that I have ever seen. Those guys know their stuff and aren't like so many other arrogant contractors. Not that many decent people, do this type of work, like they seem to be. Tell them Tim in Delaware said they did an AWESOME JOB!!

That marble is beyond imagination. You can tell this wasn't a quick slam to install, that they took their time to look at the veins in the marble and chose the best. Primo marble!! The wood floors are also exceptional.

Your kitchen looks so European, love the bookmarks on the marble. Just beware, marble is easily etched with any kind of acid. Vinegar, lemon, wine will also etch it. Get it sealed and keep up on the sealing maintenance weather it be every six months or a year. Lovely, lovely kitchen, Drew!
Sometimes I'm perplexed by your choices and then I see them in the space and LOVE what you've done. That's the difference between us mere mortals and a genius designer like you! Also, I see an upside down heart in your matchbook over the sink... Honestly, your kitchen looks like it was always that way!
