Tony, your humility is just incredible! The more I watch Action Man (life-like hair/flocking, gripping hands) and Action Force (Roboskull, et al) I am indeed being swayed to the idea of Palitoy being the greatest toy maker in the world. Hasbro continues to abuse and destroy the brick and mortar action figure toy market.
Where Hasbro failed to keep the line relevant in the 70s, Palitoy thrived! Even though the deal with Hasbro eventually lead to the R&D department's extinction, they were indeed some of the greatest minds of their time!
You do great honor to the line by presenting beloved toys from your youth in such a way you are making adults and children alike fall back in love with a line that has been gone for approximately 30 years. Great job!

I had several of these figures. At The time to re-promote the line the figures were given away as a free gift with comics such as Roy of the Rovers and Eagle. The comic was around 25/30p whilst a carded figure would have been around £1.50. The figure didn't come on a card. It was in a clear plastic bag with weapon flimsy attached to the front of the comic. That week I bought several of the same comics as they had different figures on them. I recall getting a mixture of the Z Force and SAS figures. Best comic week ever. My best friend also bought Roy of the Rovers every week too and he didn't play with action figures and gave me his too. Excellent figures. I used them as my Endor squad to complement my Star Wars.

I would have been all over this line if they would have come to the states. Classmates would have bitched about the articulation. I being a military fact nerd would have busted out books and magazines to show the attention to detail. Plus the Baron and his crew have the cool+weird=awesome factor that I've been drawn to for all my life.
P.S. I reacted the same way when a friend came for a visit and handed me a bag of Masters Of The Universe.
Oh! The smallest weapon on the far right, looking a little like an artist rendering of a Mac-10 is from Robotech. It came with the good guys like Rick Hunter and Max Sterling.

The only Action Force figure I own, is the SAS Commando. I got him from a car boot sale. Of course, he had no weapon, but there's a company that makes beautiful replica weapons which are meant for LEGO minifigs - they are way too big - but perfect for 3.75" action figures. I decided that my Commando was going to have something special. The De Lisle silenced carbine fit the bill perfectly. Whilst I was waiting for it, he held a silenced Sten gun. My Commando now stands, proudly holding the De Lisle. And it looks right.

The Star Wars weapons were pack-ins for the 2009 Saga Legends line of figures and referred to as "Battle Gear." The cardboard pack was meant to look like a weapons locker. All of the weapons except for 1 were Clone Trooper accessories. The largest pistol was for Battle Droids. They started in 2008 as "Clone Gear," the locker had a blue stripe, and two of the rifles had paint applications. They dropped the paint apps and the box deco for part of the run until 2009 when they added it back in the color you received. All of the Saga Legends figures had the same assortment. In 2010 they renamed the pack-ins "Secret Weapons," dropped the box in favor of a clear plastic bag, and added two additional assortments of weapons which were randomly packed with the figures.

Palitoy did use some GI Joe figures and repainted them as theirs didn’t sit in vehicles as well as GI Joe. Also some of the vehicles were borrowed so the Red Shadows Hyena is a Cobra Hiss with a repainted Destro renamed as Red Jackal. Also the Cobra FANG was borrowed among others for the SAS helicopter.

Here in New Zealand the only way we got any of the Palitoy figures was when Battle Action Force comic and the affiliate comics like Eagle, Tiger, Wizzer and Chips actually gave away FREE figures. It was amazing finally getting hands on them after reading the stories in Battle Action Force. We didn't usually get the Freebies from the Brit comics so it was a MAJOR surprise! Happy days. Still got them too. :)
If people are interested in seeing what Action Force is about , here's a link to where you can read the comics digitally www.bloodforthebaron.com/comics/baf/index.html

@@georgeaitken2719 It was amazing as like I say we never used to get the "bigger" freebies . Getting home from school on 'comic day' and finding them included was fantastic!😀 Needless to say I bought a few doubles of comics that week! Hunted for a Red Shadow and Black Major but I didn't see any or other Ironblood forces 😢 Ended up with Eagle, Skip, Leviathan, Quickfire, and Z Force infantryman😆
