My copy of Mario 64 went missing for years, along with my DS XL, I'd say sometime around 2013. I had assumed they were put in a box somewhere and ultimately forgotten about, and I never really had the motivation to go digging through dusty shelves. One night in 2019 I was tasked with taking out the trash, and as I opened the lid to the dumpster, there was my DS in the corner. It was toast, having rusted from inside the screen, but Mario 64 was still in the game slot, and putting it into my 3DS made it fire up perfectly. The garbage truck showed up the next morning and hauled off my old DS XL, something which I've never held much regret over, aside from losing my access to playing GBA cartridges. But stories aside, I totally agree. I own a Switch, and I honestly have no reason to play it with my 3DS around. I can play my old collection of DS games on it, and they're always a blast. Slipped on ice and dropped it in the snow, it shrugged it off like nothing happened. Legendary handhelds.
I’ve been on all handhelds nostalgia trip. Prob spent around 1000 on all these handhelds in good condition and some modified with stuff like IPS displays or new shells or new speakers
I never grew up on the ds, I was with the 3Dds. Yet like a day ago I was thinking about getting a ds lite so I could play stuff in school. Mainly gba and ds games and hell get my friend to get one too and we could play local play.
Good bro, cuz emulated versions of games on other consoles kinda suck. It’s cool to play DS games on an actual DS. Sometimes it isn’t so bad, sometimes it is, and sometimes it is in fact better to play on an emulated copy (pc).
Im happy with some games I own that are now skyrocketing in price. But man the few I want are also getting insane. Order of ecclesia? Unlucky. Pokemon white 2? Shit out of luck
You're better off getting from Amazon one of those DS cartridges that uses SD cards, allowing you to load up plenty of DS roms and play them on either your DS or 3DS.
luckily i still have my ds i used for most of my childhood and found one ds lite in the box for 10$ at the thrift. i lost or had some of my games stolen sadly
I’ve been on the DS nostalgia for the past 5 years. Haha. I’m currently going through 3DS nostalgia.

I still see people with the 3ds at school.

And if you mod it, you could even play GBA on a dsi
That's funny because I just got the OG Mario & Sonic for DS
DS lives!
I just bought a ds before I watched this

no bc i’ve been spending all my time on my dsi recently
This is true , i wanted to play pokemon conquest the other day theres no reason it should be 130 at all im pissed
Look into buying the DS 208 in 1 cartridge. You could get a R4 card and set it up, but the 208 in 1 you just plug in like any other game. Super easy

Trust me on this… get an r4 card
@mally02 black, white, black 2 and white 2 (and in some cases HG/SS) don't run that well on most R4 cards. Especially not the fake R4 cards

Just get a 3DS and get CFW on it
Definitely more expensive than the DS these days, but has its own share of benefits
