      Hi, I looked at your video. Are you talking about the silver metal cover on the front side of the hard drive with a white label that says "Toshiba" on it?
      That is part of the old hard drive. You should not remove that cover. If you removed that cover, you would be opening the hard drive to access the spinning platters and probably damage the old drive in the process.
      If you want to use the old hard drive for extra storage, you can get an external enclosure or a SATA to USB cable.
      Just gently pull the copper colored ZIF cable off the back side of the hard drive (beginning of your video).
      Then slide the black and tan plastic SATA connector at the top of the hard drive (the top of your video) out of the SATA socket.
      Push the SATA connector into the socket on the new hard drive and lay the ZIF cable on the back of the hard drive. My old hard drive had a piece of tape holding down the ZIF ribbon cable, so I did the same thing on the new hard drive.

      Hi, if you can't shift out of park, that usually means either the shift lock solenoid is faulty or the brake pedal switch is not working properly.

    Hey i couldn’t find that thing that you stuck in there do I have to do it manually?

    • @Paul79UF
      @Paul79UF  3 года назад +1

      Hi Ben, it looks like I used a small Allen key (hex wrench) to push in the shift lock release button. You could also use a small screwdriver, a straightened wire clothes hanger or a straightened paper clip to push in the button.
      Here's the full Civic shift lock release guide - www.paulstravelpictures.com/2016-2019-Honda-Civic-Transmission-Shift-Lock-Release-Guide/index.html
      I hope you find it to be useful. :) Good luck.

    My car won't shift after the battery connect backward

    • @Paul79UF
      @Paul79UF  Год назад

      Hi, I'm sorry to hear that.
      If the 12v battery was connected with reverse polarity, it may have damaged the car computer. I would take it to a repair shop or the dealership. Good luck.

      Hi, what u did most likely fried ur tcm. You'll have to replace it and possibly do a relearn procedure. It's located on thr left side of ur battery underneath.

    • @Paul79UF
      @Paul79UF  2 года назад

      Hi Alex, that might indicate a problem with the shift lock solenoid or the brake light switch on the brake pedal. If those components have failed, the computer won't let the gear selector move out of Park.
      I haven't had to repair this problem myself, but I'm sure you can find some info online.

    Hello.if i do this when im double parking, anybody can push my car to move it right?

    • @Paul79UF
      @Paul79UF  3 года назад

      Hi, the shift release is only used if the car is disabled and you need to manually change the gear selector from Park to Neutral.
      I'm not sure about your double parking situation, but you could just leave your car in Neutral and engage the parking brake so that it doesn't roll away.
      I hope that helps. 🙂

    Does not work for 2018 accord

    • @Paul79UF
      @Paul79UF  2 года назад

      Hi Kay Dee, Yes, this is a 2017 Honda Civic. The procedure is different for the Honda Accord. What model year do you have? Do you see a small access cover on the gear selector trim cover? (Near the "P" for "Park")
      Here's the shift lock release procedure on my 2006 Acura MDX which might be the same as your Honda Accord -
      ruclips.net/video/kcLp-sieys4/видео.html
      I hope that helps. 🙂

    I did this and the car still wont move. Like the parking brake is engaged.

    • @Paul79UF
      @Paul79UF  3 года назад +1

      Hi Michael, does your Civic have the EPB (electric parking brake)? Is the battery dead?
      The parking brake might still be engaged. It can be released manually as shown in this guide for a Chevy Camaro - www.paulstravelpictures.com/General-Motors-Electric-Parking-Brake-Manual-Retraction-Guide/index.html
      Or you could jump start the car and release the EPB with the button.
