One note I'd add is that the wires for the switches you disconnect at 6:40 don't just pull straight out. You have to press the tab down in the middle for them to come out, much like an Ethernet network cable. The dealer wanted to charge $485 to do this repair, but thanks to this video I was able to get the part and do it myself! The genuine Honda part wasn't just the switch on its own, but the switch with the housing, so instead of messing with those four tabs like you do around the 8:00 mark (actually, you cut away, which means it's really hard to do) you just remove two additional screws underneath, press in on two tabs underneath the Brake Hold button, then pop the Brake Hold button into your new housing, then screw that in and reconnect.

Hi, I have a 2017 manual transmission civic. My parking break will sometimes (about half the time) not release and I’ll get a “break system” warning flash on the dashboard. When I turn the car off and back on it disengages fine. I can clearly hear the motor working fine. Do you think it’s the same switch problem you had?

my issue is every time I drive my car makes a beeping sound and my dash has (electric parking break problems and other isssues that pop up on the dash so if I replace the parking break hopefully it’ll take off the issues on the dash and the beeping sound
When I got the car is already in there , but I think if you have the sport model they’re come the red dash, I only know how to change the screen color on the infotainment screen.
Try to figure out first if your emergency brake motor is working before you do anything else, And if it is , try the one I did, change the emergency parking botton.
honestly it just happened to me outside the wendys parking lot, luckily i had food otherwise I would have lost my shit lol but anyway, all I did was wait 30 min or so, watched a couple videos like this, and then tried it again, it turned on, and then made my way to autozone down the road to have them charge my battery which was at 60%

Probably the problem is the handbrake motor , but I am not certainly sure.
Just had this issue happen with more alarms than just the parking brake. Charged the battery and everything was back to normal.
Does Advanced auto parts store have these parts? Or buy them from dealer/ on-line? I just want to make sure I get the correct parts.
I bought the parts in amazon, so far no issue.

Try to check your e-brake switch if it happen again , because mine get burn that’s why it stop working.

Try first unplug your battery, if the beeping sound will go out , if not change the parking brake botton, is not that expensive
