Agree with u on this and rarely watch tv shows or movies. I’m tired of being forced to watch a change in entertainment NOW that was done b4 I was a sperm in my Father’s sac. But have u ever considered how many people who by the color of their checkmarks had dreams of being given an equal opportunity/chance during those times?
The Military taught me very well as a Soldier and Leader (Bde 1SG) that u don’t try and change something immediately (unless insinuating or emergency circumstances) that’s been going on for a long time because Soldiers/people will fight for the norm. U gradually introduce changes while explaining why and keeping everyone informed of the gradual changes. Never force anything on anyone. Especially those that have been set in their generational ways.

If it's a mainstream movie and the vast majority of your paying audience is white and those white people want to see straight white people, that's what you give them... imagine that...That's what capitalism is and capitalism creates 'progress' and nearly every invention is due to that capitalism... There is nothing about the color of one's skin or checkmarks that stops them from being a studying hard in school and becoming a genius. That is where 99% of the opportunity lies. However, today, all we focus on in this country is the 1%. All anybody has to do in this country is go to school and get straight A's and you get a scholarship to a great school and you become a big success. Crying about not getting to work in Hollywood is BS. It reminds me of all the woman that want equality for the best jobs but want zero equality for all the hard jobs.

Only those who feel privileged or have had positive things passed down speak like u. And if u think all schooling is fair throughout the United States then u r beyond ignorant (not knowing). I agree 100% that education plays a big part in helping change ur life. Some other major key factors are environment, opportunities, motivation, and mentorship. And u do not need a two parent family for this to happen. U need a mindset and determination. Out of four kids in a mostly single parent (mom but knew of father) household I had that mindset after not wanting to live like I was as an adult. I grew up on the Northside of the Lou po but with a determined Mother to get out. If anyone has ever been to St Louis then u know and understand that it’s hard to get out of an environment based on who u are. BLUF…I broke the cycle and got out. My brothers and sister stayed in the Lou and continued the cycle. Even my Mom left the Lou, received her degree, moved to ATL where she retired as a top manager for Lucent Technologies. I left the Lou in 83 with the LORD as my Navigator and never looked back. 28.5 yrs active Army (1SG), Licensed Nurse for 35 yrs, MBA Human Resource Management, Masters of Education (Adult Emphasis), own home, 23 ft boat, HD Ultra Classic, GW 1800, and many other fun things in life. It took more than just education!

Especially when it came to children! As far as equal rights I’m all for it. What I’m not for and am tired of seeing is equal rights only when it benefits women. Equal rights mean everything is equal…job duties, workloads, Combat, and especially when it comes to equal justice for crimes committed. Women will always have my vote for equal rights as long as everything is equal across the board. 'The Expectation Gene' should be included, too. Recently watched the trailer, it's literally sooo beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. Can't wait to watch the full movie, but no details of screenings yet.

This is what Hollywood offers in 2024 . There are 14 films 10 of them have a woman main character . Then add a 68 year old Mel Gibson then a 84 year old Chuck Norris .
Maybe the issue is that most 'male' actors these days other than Cruise and a few others are pathetic little simps so you may as well have a female lead.
It is terrible. I'm a single mom and my son won't even have a movie character for a role model.

Pair that with the 2000 year old book with THEE main male role model, and that can be a winning program with, of course, conscious effort and integrity. Maybe a good father figure if possible.

Wow! A.I. is getting good . . . making movies now, imagine. I mean that one guy really looked like Mel Gibson gone to seed. But the multiple production companies and the plots that are just not "quite right" give them away. I know that movies these days are just bad copies of copies, but A. I. really overdoes it. It gets the promotional blurbs and the soundtrack "Buuuuuurrrraaap" sound down one-hundred percent. "This is powerful filmmaking on every level" . . . priceless!
