I enjoyed the adventure! Combining the homemade MRE and camping video really works, more please!
Thanks! More to come.
You give us the mystery of the White River Monster, the MRE cook, and a nice review of Jacksonport State Park. That is red carpet treatment as far as I am concerned. Thanks!
Thank you! This was a fun outing
Also for your MRE videos ALDI has these really good large chocolate bar packs with 5 individually wrapped Bars they would be great in the MREs for your snack
Great idea!
The homemade MREs are what brought me to your channel but this type of content is very relaxing and interesting.
Thank you. I love doing this kind of stuff.
Arkansas has a lot of nice state parks.
They really do. Beautiful parks.
Nice, heard about the legend. Been through Newport many times extraditing prisoners, never camped in that area. Used to work as a Ranger on Beaver Lake, it's the first lake of the White River in Arkansas.
Very cool! You should definitely try to camp there some time.
That bathroom was the 1st I have ever seen that clean and stocked at a state park in my 47 years. Might as well be a 5 Star for state parks.
Absolutely
Good Sunday morning. It is smart to diversify in almost everything. I enjoy your presentation style. Contemplative and introspective. #iknowwhatexpirationdatesare #calmdown #armchairexperts
Thank you so much. I’m in this for the fun and truly appreciate those of you who are as well!
Came here for the MREs, stayed for the creepy camping. ;)
Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Love your channel!!! I live at Fouke, Arkansas. So I love when you check out things in our state. Will keep watching. 😀
How you gonna tell me you live in Fouke and not mention your cryptid?
I had already written that and sent it...when I thought..I forgot to mention the Monster..LOL@@dadbudgetadventures
Thanks for the adventure. My mother in law was from Arkansas. I would like to see more camping and "creature " watching/ exploring adventures.
And I would like to do more of those. Hopefully this will be well received and I can do just that.
Nice quick trip.
Here’s a challenge…
Build five to ten MRE’s using Costco or Sam’s Club, not sure what you have near you, with an average cost of $10 or less per meal. Same rules apply as previous MRE videos.
I have a Costco membership. Looking at doing one there if I can pull it off.
Great video. I live in Collierville. I figured you lived close when I saw the Bass Pro Shop prior to you crossing the river.
Well howdy, neighbor!
Whenever I hear about lake monsters, I always check if the lake has arctic char. I have no idea why, but they show up together a lot--Loch Ness, Champlain, Muckross, and the Chinese one whose name escapes me--just to name a few.
Looks like this one is an exception--couldn't find any here.
Interesting. Maybe he got lost somewhere along the way.
It would be cool to see you do a little tour of your camper setup! I know it's the basics, but still fun to see!
I show more of it in the Old Mike video but I might do a video just about the camper soon.
I love cryptids as well! Super cool video, would love seeing more like this!
Thank you! I definitely want to do more.
Of course the bathroom was clean. The Airstream and the pull-out RV weren't going to use them! You're the only one, Brother!😂 Just kidding. Wife and I hit a bunch of state parks in younger years. Connecticut has some great ones. New York also. Since we got south there was no need to go camping. We were living it! Love the outdoors. Enjoy your videos. Keep on! We'll be here. Gotta admit, you have a clever way of lighting your stove. Helps keep you away from flare ups. Good stuff.
Thank you. I’m glad you’re enjoying the content!
Loved the video. I really enjoy your personality, commentary, and the way you articulate and explain everything. I live in Utah, I love camping and the outdoors, so I enjoy watching others doing the same in their "part of the woods."" I think more camping with easy-to-pepare foods, camping tips, and tricks in your future videos would be something people would enjoy and appreciate. I look forward to more from your channel.
Thank you. I appreciate the kind words!
For real! I do not go camping to make a production out of cooking. I do that at home with all my supplies, spices, and cookware. My cooking is very minimalist when I'm camping - largely a byproduct of many years of backpacking.
I really enjoyed this. Would like to see more. I really like the camping food prep and cooking.
Thanks! I plan to do more of these in the future.
I would love to see more cryptid camping videos ! I just had the pasta roni that you had , my reaction was the same . Have a great weekend
I hope to do more soon. Thanks for watching!
Great video, thanks for sharing with us!
Also, love to see a fellow camper using a percolator for coffee!!
Cheers and safe travels
Thank you! I love my percolators. It’s a go-to if I have the choice.
great adventure
Thank you!
I definitely enjoyed this one!
Thank you. I had a great time making it.
Keep up the videos,MRE’s and adventures👍🏼
Thanks!
This was another great video. I haven’t ever heard of JSP. A neat destination and MRE.
Thanks! I’m glad I got to do this one. Found a park I’ll likely go to again.
@@dadbudgetadventures come to Tupelo and stay at Tombigbee State Park. Then show Elvis Presley’s hometown. We have more parks but Tombigbee is State Park.
I might just do that. Not too far away. Gonna be in Tupelo in a couple weeks.
@@dadbudgetadventures check out Trace State Park, Elvis Presley State Park. We have some nice facilities.
Traveling to a spot in Arkansas looking for "Whitey" 🤣 Can't wait to go camping this year. Last 3 days I've had the family out bike riding and picnicking.
Camping is an all seasons activity…unless you’re trying to talk the wife and kids into being out in freezing weather. That’s a hard sell.
@@dadbudgetadventures Yeah wife and boys 4 & 5 yo aren't up for it below 40° in the tent overnight. So limits the season time frame up here in Michigan. I expect boys to get tougher as they get older.
Cool video, I bought a case of those Nature's Valley Wafer bars from Sam's they're too good.
They really are
Love your videos
Thank you. Your support is so greatly appreciated.
👍 Great video. Thanks 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for watching!
Fantastic upload bud, so nicely narrated and executed 👏👏
Thank you so much!
Judging by the 3 sightings the "monster" looks like large floating branches. The large fish theory is also plausible
Having said that, I do like to keep an open mind
I really like that you've shown another cool cooking gadget and you did show a very good homemade MRE as well
Overall, a job well done.
Thank you. So glad you enjoyed it.
Teardrops, MRE's and River Monsters Oh my!.
Thanks for another solid vid. A further hike to AR than you here in FL, but seems to be worth a camping road trip.
So glad you enjoyed it. I need to do a long trip through Florida. Lots to see there.
Spot on vid. I did so enjoy your vid with the varied content. We are history nerds so our camping generally involves places of historical significance. Your campground review was really good. In the future as you pivot from MRE crafting, camp gear, camp ground reviews, camping gear, local history and lore, could be interlaced into a vid. Much as was done with this one. Remember, each video is done from your personal preferences, done with truth, as is experianced by Yourself at the time vids are made. That being said, as far as trolls are concerned, let them rant. Some persons have lost the ability to understand that what you do is done with kindness, and a servants heart. Remember, always smile, makes them wander what your up to. 😂 Enjoy the camp, see you on the trail.
Thank you so much for the kind words. I plan to do more of this because it’s where my heart is happiest. The MRE videos are just the vehicle to get me a wider audience.
The fish called a sturgeon can get very large. But it wont be walking around on land or making noise.
It will not. If it does we have a real issue.
good times there my friend
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video and review of the state park!
Thank you!
The sling chair is taking it one step too far. 😂
That thing is my absolute favorite piece of camping gear
I love it! ❤️
I was cruising Wally-World and noticed Libby's veggies in individual plastic cups. Ready to eat and good until 2025 or 26. Also, Bean Vivo has a chili good for about a year. Also, Miracle Noodles. Not sure how they taste. I will know soon though. That is all. Carry on.
Bean Vivo is going to be in a new MRE video this coming Sunday. Watch for it!
I will be there! Thank you for your hard work. I feel awesome now that I got a inside scoop. Well, I guess I have to share it with all you people....
Share away!
A constant struggle in the Philippines is avoiding sugar. The sweet stuff is included in almost every product. Few establishments have a loaf of bread that does not include sugar in the recipe. Our almost 12 year old now reaches for my expensive loaf of rye bread that comes from a custom bakeshop when he suggests we should make a tuna sandwich. Slowly, we are "weaning" the troops off of sweeteners. In the canned juice section of our local supermarket, nearly every product is labeled "juice drink." Pineapple juice is one of the very few exceptions, you are able to purchase 100% pure juice. The local taste buds say "but it tastes better with sugar and it is cheaper." This is OK, I will take a pass. More variety would be nice but not if we are "forced" to consume additional sugar. It takes work to build quality emergency meal sets. We draw inspiration from what you do here. Thank you for your excellent videos.
Thank you so much. That’s very kind of you.
The Jackson Newport Funeral Home Museum. When I was a kid ( seems like forever ago, late 60s-70s ) my Grandparents would take me touring around spots in Arkansas. I live in Texas, an would spend my summers with them. My Mamma would make my Pappa stop an Any " Roadside Antique " shop. There was a older couple that ran one of them that we would stop at, I can't remember if it was before or after Rogers Ark. The older man asked if my Pappa & I would like to see something special. Come to find out, he restored old horse drawn Herses. He had all kinds ! I wonder if some of those Herses were his. PS. Sure glad the " monster " didn't get ya !
That’s a great story! I’m glad too. Looking to get back there soon.
The monster is just Richard Simmons jazzercising through the river for his next work out video. After the MREs there's always camp cooking stuff if the camping videos like this catch on.
Hmm. That would be an interesting sighting
I really enjoyed this. Think it’s a good idea incorporating the homemade MRE’s into other videos that you want to make. Do you have a Rose’s or Maxway near you? I think they would be pretty tough for your MRE challenge
Thank you. I don’t have either one but I like to check out new places when I travel so I might come across one eventually.
@@dadbudgetadventures we have them in eastern NC so if you want some good BBQ feel free to visit us and maybe you can check out a roses while you’re here
I do some camping in Cherokee. Maybe I’ll look next time I do that.
Did you mention how much it cost to stay at the camp sight or did I miss it. I'm curious, you mentioned the cost of the firewood but I'd like to know how much it is to stay there and for how long. I guess you're not aloud to use the dead wood there which is weird because there seems to be a lot of it. Great video though, really enjoyed this one. God bless.
👍🧡✝️🇺🇸🧡👍
It was $32 for my one night stay. I don’t know if you can gather wood yourself, I didn’t look into that. There’s definitely plenty down by the river.
Good morning, I hit like before I even finish the video. Thanks again and have a great day 😀
Thank you! I’ll take it!
I've been curious about why Scarlett stopped making videos and stopped being in yours.
She got busy parenting and being an adult and it got hard for us to work out time to do videos. It gets hard to coordinate everything that’s involved between work and kid schedules.
What better way to demo an MRE than actually in the field. Keep it up!
I would say to branch out into camping and adventure videos. 😊😊😊
Honestly that’s where I was before the MREs caught on. Now I’m just wondering if that crowd will watch.
What a beautiful site! The romantic in me always hopes a cryptid is real, but I've had too many science classes to believe in them. Unfortunately. Doesn't stop me from enjoying the story though. And if you ever get to SE Ohio, there's another mortuary museum in Marietta!
That’s kinda the way I feel. I want to believe, I just don’t think there’s much to it.
I’m always up for a good mortuary museum!
I wish I had known this story when I lived in Oklahoma! I would love to try to spot a river monster or other Cryptid. Great story and video! I see all these awesome heat and eat items in videos and can't find them anywhere in my area for a decent price, it's so disappointing.
Thank you! Check the Dollar General. Great source.
@@dadbudgetadventures I'll try and see what I can find! Thanks!
I kind of wish I was on the outing the tear on but it would have been really really really really really really noisy crowded and we would have never gotten anything done everybody just stared at each other.... No it's cool that is absolutely cool I wish that during my camping days I could have had a teardrop camper I always wanted one and I know what to do with it I knew how to customize it so I'm envious but, but good luck to you wherever you go I love your videos man I really do good
Thank you so much. That camper has been so much fun getting it the way I want it. Hopefully I’ll have lots more content to show it off.
If i had to guess those facilities were remolded over winter...nothing that clean in northeast Indiana! Keep it up i the viewer like camping videos.
Thank you. More to come!
Man I did t realize you were that close to ar!
Right next door!
@@dadbudgetadventures I live in east central ar.
Awesome! We are neighbors!
Drive to Illinois and learn about the the legend of the Piasa Bird. There is a large image of it on the bluff that is how the indians described it at the time. You can drive up the river road and camp at Marquette State Park.
I will look into that! Thanks for the tip.
It's in Alton Illinois and you can also see the world's tallest man statue of Robert Wadlow in Upper Alton.@dadbudgetadventures
Very cool!
Very interesting. Like the mix of crypto-zoology, history and practical uses of MREs. They aren't just for shtf.
Thank you. MREs are for monster hunting too!
Familiar with the monster. About 150 river miles down stream. Those fish were probably silver or bighead carp (jumping carp) an invasive species
That’s a big ol fish
GREAT VID, ALSO WHO CARES WHAT U EAT YOU FOOD OUT OF A PAN OR POUCH, ITS UP TO U. THANKS FOR SHARING....Z..
Yeah that’s my thought too. Not sure why they get so hung up on it.
ITS A CONTROL THING I.M.O.@@dadbudgetadventures
What I thought was weird was that the bathroom stalls and showers had handicap bars, but how would the handicapped people get up those stairs if YOU had trouble with them
I didn’t have trouble but that ramp would be a bear in a wheelchair. You really gotta want to get up there b
The river monster is
💯×50%ABV.😂😂
I can say I saw SOMETHING. So I’ve got that going for me.
Nice video DBA,
That was a very nice bathroom. My wife and I were full time RVers for over 2 1/2 years, and we've seen some pretty nasty state and national park bathrooms.
We always travel with a "Toilet Kit" in our vehicles. I made a short video on it: ruclips.net/video/HvuVJJYtUPk/видео.htmlsi=N6rIk3Dc276zYu-B
That's the best time of year to go camping. Not many bugs to speak of, not many people etc.
I love camping in the winter months. Things are much quieter at the campgrounds.
@@dadbudgetadventures
True that.
Big ass catfish.
Biiiig catfish!
Oo oo that smell 🎶 😆 you'll have to make your way to Fl and get a 👃 of our skunkape whewee 🥹. I ❤ 🏕 👍
Note: I need one or two of those pots 😊
I so need to do that
