    Hi I know it’s been a while since you made this video. But I have this flash and was wondering if you know how to enable High speed sync? Thanks

    How do you turn on the backlight on the 685? One of my flashes has the backlight and I must have somehow turned off on the other.

    Hi John. I just watched a couple of your videos about the YN685, trying to figure out how to enable HSS. I've tried just about every option on the flash panel, but can never get SYNC to appear on the FN buttons section of the screen. What am I missing?

      did you get the yn622 tx controller or a standard cheap trigger?

  • @Connor_Dempsey
    @Connor_Dempsey 6 лет назад +2

    You send triggers a few times. I would say instead, you still need a Transmitter but you do not need Receivers because the Receiver is built in.

    Excellent video mate im glad I stumbled upon it. Quick question I would like to ask? id like to use it for HSS off camera, so if I understood correctly I won't be needing trigger on camera and receiver on the flash? the yn622 will do that for me correct or im wrong ? thanks mate

      The flash has its own built in receiver mate.You can also use the flash has a trigger or use the yn622n trigger I do have a video of setting this up.

    Is there a way to turn of the pre-flash involved with this setup? Also has anyone experienced delay/lag when firing off your shutter with the 622-tx transmitter? I have a nikon D7000

    I did see this question asked but, I still can't figure it out. I'd like to use a 685 flash on my camera to trigger another 685 on a stand. I shoot with a d600.

    Good Evening John. Many thanks for sharing this video. Just researching flashes for my Nikon D750 when I came across your video. It was great you were reviewing the flash I am interested in but you also happen to own the same camera too. I am all but sold on this flash but I have one concern before buying it and that is: How well does the flash sit in the camera hot shoe? Kind regards Adam

    How does this compare to the godox tt685? Nice review

    • @dkeithcollins
      @dkeithcollins 5 лет назад

      Go with the Godox tt685 and Xpro transmitter.
      Yongnuo are fine on their own but don't work with other units. They also do not have optical trigger.
      The Godox tt685 and a Xpro trigger work with Flashpoint Xplor 600, AD200 and probably others as well. The also have optical triggering built in.

      I have a Nikon D3400. I purchased two of these flashes and a YN622-TX wireless controller. I can have the speedlites on different channels and control the power output for them individually. The Nikon D3400 doesn’t do high speed sync but the flashes are capable of it. These flashes are the only model I’ve seen that can zoom to 200mm.
      I bought umbrellas and stands. The flashes can operate remotely with the controller so you can do just about anything. I put the two of them on the kitchen table and took photos of a pocket watch. I make sure the flashes are in wireless remote setting. I use them in manual all the time so I can control the power output. I used it with TTL mode, but it is always more light than I need. I can also set the camera to do rear curtain sync,
      The reason why you can’t do high speed sync is the camera itself has no commander mode in the flash menus to select auto.

    Mine doesnt work! The blue light wont go away, even though the batteries are fully charge or the flash is off. Its just shuts down for no reason. But before its shuts down there are letters that pops up on the lsd like P.L and a battery sign. I’ve been trying to fix it but still it doesnt work. Help please 😔
