On scuba diving trips, these 10 knots can come in very handy! I know there are a lot more useful knots out there and a million ways to tie them. However, this is the absolute minimum of knots you should know as a scuba diver. Leave me a comment, if you miss a very useful knot or if you know cool tricks about how to tie them!

Hi Ben, 9:51 Sheet Bend, not band. I love the video. Reminds me of my scouting days where we were taught a lot of knots. Good to know that some of the knots I still remember doing, esp. bowline.

You’re right. Nobody including me ever recognized that. But I can’t properly change that now 😕

Great Video, but please be careful with the Quickversion of the bowline! If your Hand is wrapped in the line that possibly can pull on you (boat) you can get trapped and pulled into the water or hurt your wrist. I do the same with just the Indexfinger, but you have to pinch the rope real hard to hold whatever is at the end of the line without loosing the loop.
I like it, that you show the bowline in relalistic context, most people practice and cant remember what loop is for which purpose.

Yeah, that’s really a risk! Thank you for bringing that up. It’s worth mentioning!

Yes sure…most knots are used by sailors and arborists, too!
