COME SHOPPING AT A BEAUTIFUL GHANA MARKET ON A MOUNTAIN | COST OF FOODS | LIVING IN GHANA
We drove from Koforidua in the Eastern region of Ghana to Asesewa Market, located in the Manya Krobo district of Ghana.
On market days at Asesewa, hundreds of traders converge at the market. Traders from big towns and villages, flood the market with large quantities of fresh food items to sell at cheap prices. This has made this market a one-stop wholesale point for affordable foodstuff for years.
A majority of the market women display their items on table tops while a few carry theirs and walk around the market.
These sellers travel from all over the eastern region to sell here at Asesewa. They come all the way from places like Koforidua, Kukurantumi etc , and even all the way from Accra, Tema, Kasoa and Ashiaman to buy and transport their goods them to other markets.
Loved the atmosphere and weather here. I was impressed by the abundance of food items such as cassava, maize, yams, tomatoes, cassava dough, garden eggs, and other vegetables.
Lets find out the cost of foods here at this market.

My name is Jasmine and I have relocated from Sydney Australia to Ghana in west Africa as of the year 2020.
My parents are of Ghanaian descent and so am I although I was born in Australia. Here on my channel, my goal is to give you a real glimpse into what its like to live in Ghana, from the Ghanaian food, to the Ghanaian culture, to the Ghanaian lifestyle and everything in between. My goal is to satisfy your curiosity about Ghana and help inspire to explore Ghana.
My prayer is that these videos do just that for several African’s in the diaspora.
Follow your bliss because life is short, follow your bliss because human life has no intrinsic value, follow your bliss because everything happens for the greater good and follow your bliss because it has all happened before.
A market day at asesewa...I still remember the reading book during my primary school days...
Was about to right same..Need to visit this market one day very beautiful place
very calm market. nice video.
It might not seem like it from 1st world standards, but this market full of fresh, natural food is true wealth and abundance! Those mountain views on the way are everything! It is the same market style/infrastructure of the Caribbean.
Beautiful market with so many great stuffs and not overcrowded. Great content as usual.

I really enjoyed this shopping trip the market was packed with so many vendors. Your shopping list need to be prepared before hand so you do get overwhelmed by so many selections. Great shopping trip.
Thanks Jasmine for sharing. I enjoyed the trip and the market. Ghana and our roads though...some of those contractors need to be fired! !
Everything fresh and organic
Shopping haul!

Hi, are you expecting?
You didn't buy avocados
got some from the tree at my home in Koforidua 🥰
I see you don't have your cute basket bag
Haha not this time
Nice video, Asesewa is in the Upper Manya Krobo district infact I think it's the district headquarters of the assembly and they speak Krobo language and not Dangbe both languages are very similar but not the same.
Krobos do speak Dangme .
Dangme is the Mother language which includes ( Krobo,Ada gbi, Ningo, Gbugbla).
Did you read the book. "A market day at Asesewa?" Lol
Yes I did, my goodness. You are right,
Unless you never schooled in Ghana
What is the man on the speaker saying
Asesewa markerrrrrrt, please note the T is silent
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Eh when can we have better roads ☹️
😅
Better roads?? As usual when approaching presidential election,, hopefully🇬🇭🐵🐒
You have to collectively fight for it instead fighting among yourselves in the name NPP and NDC. Government fears the collective power of the citizens. When you are divided, the government is happy because they know that whatever they do, they will get people to support them.
😰💙 HO.......T..!! 🌼👌🌻🌺🙏🇬🇧
As an example, the Ghanaian government should standardize or spread some form of language interoperability. So many groups of people in one country cannot communicate to each other
Please, the whole of Eastern world has so many languages from ancient time ooh. We don't want any goverment to mess it up😀🇬🇭😘
What a load of rubbish are you writing here? Who told you that so many people in Ghana cannot communicate with each other?
Do you know about the history of Ghana? Every tribe has its own language, culture , and land. These tribes lived separately on their own land before the country gained independence and came together as one nation. This is why you see each tribe in Ghana has its own chief. The chiefs were the heads of these tribes before the country came together as one. The government has no power to redistribute these tribes in areas that they don't belong to. You see High schools/ Secondary schools in Ghana has boarding schools/campuses where students reside and go back home during vacations. The reason is because, the first president of Ghana, Nkrumah , thought it was a good idea to bring students of different tribes to live and study together to enable them to know about each other and integrate with each other and become friends so as to bring peace among the tribes.
You need to know the history of a country before you jump into conclusion on what you think should be done. Government has no control over where each tribe lives. They lived on their lands before government even commenced in Ghana. They are not items to be distributed around.
Jasmine, sorry for asking this, but, what do you do for living? could you do a video talking about that? please, don't curse me, i know you can say, that'snot your buzzines!
Look for previous videos. She already talked about it.
