    Incredible explanation. Thank you. I find it very peaceful and calming, but I don't get the sense of bliss that maharishi talks about. Am I doing it wrong?

    • @jayf8308

      Now the bliss experience thing does not happen for me often enough even after two years of daily practice but the benefits are noticeable and even measurable in the case of my BP and resting heart rate. My teacher said not to get caught up in the gratifaction of the moment and that it will happen when it happens.

      @@jayf8308 thanks JayF. I find I get more glimpses of it now than 6 months ago when I wrote that. For example at work if I get stressed and then I decide to take a pause for 2 minutes of meditation then I find that very blissful. So I get lots of sweet moments like that. But not so much in the 20 minute sessions, that's just a focus on pure awareness.

      About 2000$...you don't need TM and to pay for it...there are many mantras you can use and several videos to help you. TM is just a money grab...watch this:

      The Meditation Trust is a registered UK charity making TM affordable for all, so you will find our course fees are nowhere close to $2000! Transcendental Meditation is very simple but as a result very subtle and delicate. It therefore cannot be learned from a book, DVD or online. Its effectiveness depends on the skilled instruction and guidance of a professionally qualified instructor who has meditated themselves for many years and undertaken extensive training, as directed by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. This, plus free support and guidance for life, provided by the Meditation Trust, will ensure correct practice.Trying to take a shortcut to understanding will almost certainly end in disappointment. Because the simplicity of ‘doing nothing’ is contrary to everything else we ‘do’ in our lives, it is very easily misunderstood

    If you have to repeat a mantra then you have to concentrate to an extent? Otherwise how can you repeat a word

    • @themeditationtrust
      @themeditationtrust  5 лет назад +3

      Hi Lt H, in this technique we are thinking a sound. We have millions of thoughts everyday which don't require concentration. But fully understanding this concept is the reason for learning on a 3 day course and having free support and guidance for life. Come along and learn! www.meditationtrust.com/latest-course-dates-venues/

      At the beginning you start to say mantra but after a few minutes or seconds(up to u) not you your mind repeats it spontaneously.
      Everybody must learn from a teacher. I try to learn it myself but after than i went a t.m. teacher.It was really different and worth it.

    • @jayf8308
      @jayf8308 Год назад

      to an extent yes but the idea is to allow your thoughts too. it is at least for a time like a seesaw. thought arises and we remember about the mantra. The Mantra reminds me to let go of the thought and the thoughts remind me of the mantra. It's the process that rewires the brain and brings about the benefits. That's the science of it anyway for which there is a ton of independent research. Now the bliss experience thing does not happen for me often enough even after two years of daily practice but the benefits are noticeable and even measurable in the case of my BP and resting heart rate. My teacher said not to get caught up in the gratifaction of the moment and that it will happen when it happens.
