I am a 2016 Olympic Alternate and former NCAA athlete and have deferred my senior year at the University of Utah to come back to elite gymnastics and try for a spot on the 2021 Olympic Team. This channel documents my journey and gives insight into the life of someone preparing for the Olympics!

When she said that I was worried she'd be telling us about a major problem at practice or in warm up. Glad she felt better by the competition.

ok, so I had no idea you forgot your routine after the full in. I just watched it again and you seriously cant tell. I LOVED the new music and routine. It suited you really well. I thought you looked stunning, leo makeup all on point. I think you did extremely well considering everything you went thru behind the scenes. Looking forward to Nationals!

That’s crazy I never would have guessed you forgot your floor routine. I thought you looked solid! The skills are there (the crazy thing is you still have some upgrades in your back pocket), now it’s just about cleaning up and perfecting over the next couple months! You got this!!!
whatever happens, as a mom, a gym fan, i am super proud of Mykayla!!! mysef and a younger coach at our gym (who also iwatches NCAA) are totally pulling for her! i lived in Mesa in mid 2000s and saw her on local news as an itty bitty all the time. have always read about her career; and honestly, gotta say, i wasnt the biggest fan....until she went to Utah--this is where the pride comes in. such a joy to watch this young lady mature into such a beautiful young woman!!! i am a proud Skinner fan!!!! GO MYKAYLA!!!!!!!!!! YOU can do this!!!

I really love your beam routine and your vaults are medal worthy. This was the first time i've seen the new floor routine and I loved it. I am most excited for your bars though, there is a crazy amount of strength and skill going into that routine and it's so awesome to watch. I truly believe you have got this. You're exactly the kind of girl the USA team needs.

Hi from Jonas's dad! I think that was my first cameo on MyKayla's channel. I'll be at Championships in Fort Worth and the Olympic Trials in St. Louis, so who knows? I may pop up again briefly in a future video.

It’s crazy to hear the behind the scenes because I would have never known you felt sick or that were rushed or that you forgot part of your floor routine! With all of those odds stacked against you, you still KILLED IT and I’m so proud of you 💪🏻❤️

That's an amazing floor story, hope you can look back on it and laugh, it's kind of hilarious, especially since you pulled it off. And I love your floor music so much! It was my favorite music of the day!! Congrats on the incredible vaults, and congrats on keeping your head on your shoulders. Love how you manage to be honest about the hard/bad stuff, and still keep your eye on the prize and feel optimistic. Thanks for being so transparent with us Myk! And thanks for explaining what happened after the full in on floor. I was totally vibing to your Polish floor routine and then you just kinda danced a little jig and then did a leap pass and I was like 🤔 but great cover up still I would’ve just stood there😂. At least you still hit every routine but beam and while dealing with what sounds like food poisoning and dealing with you Achilles? Once the judges start scoring your vaults correctly you’ll be unstoppable 💪🏻

Does USAG ever tell you your execution deductions for domestic meets? I felt like the scoring was really inconsistent and that the execution score they gave you for your Cheng made no sense
I think it's a fair assumption they do not. Their lack of transparency regarding other matters leads me to believe that.

You say it all the time but it's so crazy seeing the height difference when you and Jonas are standing! It's so easy to forget when you're both sitting on a bed or only one in the shot at a time.
