  • In this episode I'll show you how to disable the yellow surface flashes that happen when you hover over parts of a figure. It's enabled by default and not quite obvious where to find the option to leave us in peace. I made this video for Solomon, he has a great channel on many things 3D and DAZ Studio, check it out here: / solomonjagwe

Once again you solved the problem I had in a quick, succinct way. Daz really needs to get you on their payroll ;-). Hope you had a great Halloween!!!

Dang, I have been working in Daz for 12 years and I never knew this!! I will definitely watch your DS 101 when you post it to catch anymore stuff like this that has somehow just passed me by!

I'll put a link to the playlist in the description. My long term plan is to make a second series just about characters :-)

I can't decide what I like most about your channel... the informative content, your down to earth demeanor, or your voice... But even if I already "know" the subject I still usually watch the video because I still usually learn something.

Thank you. Your tutorial is straight to the point, easy to understand, and you don't ramble. Others should take pointers from you when posting tutorials or how to videos. Instantly subscribed to your channel and looking forward to checking out your other videos on DAZ Studio.

Perfect timing video, for me at least. I'm setting up everything on the new PC and this was something I adjusted about 2 years ago on my previous PC and forgot where the setting was located. I'm also not a fan of that yellow highlight though I do really like it when using the surface tool. Great way to verify what surface is selected before making adjustments.

I'm so glad it helped! And I totally agree, for surface selections this is great, I'm glad they've implemented it so that they always light up when you use the surface selection tool. I keep forgetting to post new videos to Discord - you've just reminded me. Hey and really good news about the new system coming together, I can't wait to see some more of your images!

@@WPguru I've been move and organizing data on the new 10TB drive hoping to get everything setup to make the switch to use it as my main system. Right now I'm just using a remote desktop connection to manage content on the new PC. I hope to be able to get back into DAZ in a few days!

AWESOME! Thanks for this very helpful tip! I wish you would do a full tutorial on all the icons on the tool bar (i.e. active pose, surface selection, spot render, etc) ! I have yet to explore them, but the few that I know are damned useful. Thanks for the great tutorial!

Usually (meaning probably just over half of the time) I like having that on, but you're right when up close it's a pain to have it illuminate. I'm probably too lazy to turn it off half the time and leave it on when I like it, but it's good to know how to do it.
