- If the late 1980s and early 1990s brought the automotive world one thing it was front-wheel drive "sports cars."
"Sports cars" is in parentheses because, according to at least one of our staffers, the terms "sports car" and "front-wheel drive" simply shouldn't go together.
Grievances aside, the more important thing of note in this video is the youthfulness of Brad Diamond and Graeme Fletcher as they cruise in the 1989 Ford Probe-oh, and Graeme's outfit.

My dad had the GT, I thought we were so cool. Riding around with the sunroof open playing Keith Sweat, fast car he won a lot of races. He later traded it for 1995 Acura Legend.
I had a 1989 Ford Probe LX in college....loved it :-)
My dad had the 89 model. It was Beige colored. Automatic. It had the Sport / Normal Switch near the shifter. We also had someone install an aftermarket Cruise Control.
My older sister had the 1990 model. Red. and later she had the 1993 also Red. Had it for 12 years until the transmission needed replacement. So, she just got a different vehicle.
Own an 89' GT. Handles like a dream, for having original shocks that are worn.
My first car in tenth grade a red one just like that, till one day my brother and I was driving it when all of a sudden it was smoking from the hood we pulled over then it caught a fire I cried so hard 😭 I loved that car!!!! ❤Thankfully we were okay!!
Test drove a 91 LX a few years ago, it wasn't all that Japanese-like, in my view, on the inside. That car was white with a very red interior. Velour on the seats, red carpeting, red dashboard. It also had a wild, digital instrument cluster that I made sure to acquaint myself with BEFORE even starting the car as I didn't want to risk a breakdown from not seeing the warning signs. It also had the V6 engine (from the Taurus) and I think an automatic transmission...though I don't remember for sure.
I would probably have bought it, but it was for sale in a small town way out in the middle of nowhere.
Sweet car, though.
I remember my dad having one identical yo the test vehicle. I thought it was awesome as a kid.
89 Probe was the only new car I ever bought. Black, LX, 5 spd. with better wheels than this one has. . Picked it up in June of 88. It was a great car. Loved the thing. I remember we were in the middle of a drought then. I turned on the radio for the first time when driving it off the dealer lot, and the first song I heard on the radio was "Let it Rain" by Eric Clapton. Perfect song for the drought. ....miss those days.
Bought an 89 LX back in 1994. Fun lil car
Intense rash! 0:19🤔
Anthony Padilla’s first car!!
I had a white 89’ LX loved it! Also had a 1990 Mazda 626 LX after the probe so i could use the Probe parts perfectly on the 626
Mr. Eighty It says 1989 on the heading of the video
Mr. Eighty well there was only 2 different looking probes Since it only ran in production from 1988 to 1992 was the body we are looking at from 1993 to 97 was a different look and then after that it was canceled you can Google it
Mr. Eighty plus my friend has sold nothing but Ford vehicles,& he confirmed that the pic of the one your seeing had that same body look with very Minute changes from 88’-92’
Ford ultimately borrowed from the celica's design, and the final probe design is much different than the original japanese concept.
GL cause all I needed was a general Car but very good in snow and sporty Auto 3 speed over drive was great!
that is 1 BIG parking lot to do 0-100 K in
