I am addicted to this brand of guitar playing. Carlos will always rank as one of the best guitarists ever.
You can tell when someone puts their soul into music. Gracias Carlos.
Good!
Gary Moore was like that, putting everything he had inside, into his playing. And you can feel every note..
Prince’s favorite guitarist. That, alone, speaks volumes about this guy
I love how Carlos can mix it up...passionate romantic solo, to rock, blues and wherever his soul takes him.
Carlos is special, in every way. Talent, style, humanity.....one of the best ever. Here with his talented friends, Los Lobos.
As far as I'm concerned he is thebest, never tire of his music
Something I notice about the way Carlos plays is that he uses silence to his advantage. Sometimes, the best parts of his solo is when he stops playing to let what he just played set in for a second. That's something that every musician can learn from, the usefulness of silence.
Eric Clapton famously said, it is the gaps that make blues great.
This concert is the greatest ever day in WATSONVILLE!
Amen. The space between the notes is very important.
Extronic - the best parts of Santana’s solos are always when he stops playing
I love this so so much I can listen over and over.SONYA
Santana is so iconic that you can recognize him after playing only one note
So true
Undoubtedly!!
La mejor intro que escuche en mis 30 años. Grande Carlos y Joaquín Rodrigo. Saludos desde Argentina 🇦🇷👍👍👍👍
An absolute legend
I could and can listen to him any time anywhere
Guitar plays the feeling that comes from the soul. Peace and good
Even the security guys can’t help but groove along a little. Goood vibes
Ha
Always gives me chills
Viví en esta época y admiro a Santana desde siempre....
P
I was born In Watsonville! Only been back there a few times. My grandfather taught a class at the Christian school there.
I never understood why Santana never made a jam or an album with David Gilmour. It would be unbelieavable;)
Ronaldo Thomé Júnior I’m glad I’m not the only who thought that!

Any speaker that tried to play that would melt and every woman in a 100 mile radius from the epicenter of the event would be spontaneously impregnated
Too many A players
It would be like heroin. Too far out there.
A mis 64 años Santana hace rejuvenecer mi espíritu.
Gracias x tomar en cuenta mls reflexiones
Y’all are the epitome of “the power of music” 🎶🎸🥁‼️

I'm 70 this month and this guitar just is Stupendous
The guy on the pale violet telecaster killed it!
who is that? he was incredible
La musicaa de Carlos Santana nos traslada a espacios celestiales. Gracias por compartir
Everytime this guy and his band come close to St Louis I go and see them. 1st time was in the '70s and just saw him again in St Louis with the Doobie Brothers 2 weeks ago and it was freaking unbelievable. He brought out the Doobie Bros and they did an awesome ad lib set of songs that was not rehearsed at all and they ROCKED THE HOUSE DOWN! Stayed til the last note! Man was it good! After they had played most of the night, his wife did a drum solo that puts every drummer I have ever heard to shame. She is a master of the kit. I have played in rock bands for the last 45 years and that lady can drum for me anytime. She is damn good! Loved it Cindy Blackman! You go girl!!!
Wow I'm went to Watsonville High School and never heard that Santana played at WHS. I was living in Santa Clara at this time of this concert and sure wish I was there.
My grandma is in her 70s but she was at woodstock not sure and she seen the beatles
who cares?
Wow no one cares
Seen him at Woodstock and Syracuse War Memorial. The Best. Seen him and Buddy Miles in Syracuse drag strip with Ten Years After and Deep Purple in the 60’s early 70’s
Damn...that’s three kick ass guitar players! Didn’t know the boys from Los Lobos could play the blues like that!
Ohhh is THAT who they are? I was gonna ask
That was me there on 6:45 with my mom :)
so cool
great mom!!
That must be a Fantastic story to tell
Prove it

Santana can swear and scream his head off without opening his mouth ... he uses his guitar to do that - I have seen the same touch with Jeff Beck too - incredible musicians

Just wonderful. I assisted in a concert in maracaibo - venezuela
Se me pone la piel de gallina con éste virtuoso de la guitarra!!!😍
The 2nd cat who played @ 6:00 did it for me. He came through clean...
Agreed. Not into straight pentatonic riff but he sorted it out
@@randallpaul7791 That wasn't straight pentatonic riffing. Heavily based there, but you could hear modes.
That's David Hidalgo. Badass player who loves a good Tele.
@@uglytuco3829 Thank you, That's that wonderful Tele Twang!
Hidalgo was the guy that day
I could just feel it when Santana started to play...

All geat art is about force and silence. Zen is always the way. What ever i think he his humbled by the music.
The gys playing with Carlos are Los Lobos ......... awesome guitar players in their own right.
Love that intro!!!Best guitar intro i have ever heard , it is sentimental as fck, i almost cry 😿
It is his adaptation of a classical piece called Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquin Rodrigo. You can also find a slightly different version of it on The Santana Brothers CD.
Nossa Senhora! Talentosos demais!
CONCIERTO DE ARANJUEZ DEL MAESTRO RODRIGO
MARAVILLOSA INTERPRETACION DE SANTANA DE UN CLASICO ESPAÑPOL DE TODOS LOS TIEMPOS
Love Santana. Greatest guitar ever.
With Los Lobos joining him here, Watsonville high school what a concert this was.
the opening, note for note, is from joaquin rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez
excellennt
Santana.... 1 of the guitar GREATS
Vivi nesta época e amo Santana
UM DOS MELHORES GUITARRISTAS DE TODOS OS TEMPOS.
I stumbled across this and was reading the comments about the differences between Rosas and Hidalgo. To me Hidalgo seems to be more at home in the blues than Rosas, also his tone is spot on. Partly because of technique, partly because of amp choice and never under estimate the warmth and growl of the rosewood fretboard. All my guitars have rosewood fretboards for that very reason...TONE and SUSTAIN.
Hidalgo is the name of the Indian guitar master with the blue tele?
Felling LIKE JUST KICKING BACK AND ENJOYING !!
I was one month old then, but I’m finally back here
The "guitar solo" portion is actually "Concierto de Aranjuez".
+EpicConcerts thats at the beginning
yes a d it's my favorite classical guitar piece. u know which came first arenjuez or Malaguena
Joaquin Odriozola .no
EpicConcert
It's adopted by Lebanese famous singer Fairuz, the song is Le Beirut...
Excellente ❤❤❤
you are really in a good way....keep going....I'm sleaze with you....its my word...end she is expensive
that G&l tele realy bring sweet tone , dream tone for blues player
Thank you!!! GOD bless you all!
The keyboard player is Chester Thompson he also played with tower of power
pretty cool moment at 2:30 Santana is setting up for the 12 bar progression and everyone comes to a halt, notice how he turns around and plays the backing track for his key because they have no idea whats next!
ACTUALLY, they picked it up for him... letting him know to *JAM ON...*
BUT STILL: total understanding from all musicians... in an instant. GREAT STUFF
VERY SPECIAL !! I LIKE ITS MUSIC thanks a lot
Santana and Los Lobos...what a collab!
Concierto de Aranjuez . . . like a man
Super, sua guitarra canta!
Bb estas escuchando en este momento?
