His formula is to copy his dad whom gave him his RUclips career and yet Rudy abandoned him. Typical Genz Kid who can't pave their own path without the nipple.
It was fascinating to see the Baja1000 like that. No course markers, no closed roads. That is insane and I now understand why it is considered so grueling with deaths almost every race. Great video Rudy. Thanks for letting us participate even for just 1 day.
Hands down one of your best videos to date. Great try and hell not to many peeps can say they have been to the Baja 1000 let alone competed. You guys rock brother...🤓
I hope you guys do it again don't give up!!! As someone who raced the 50th Baja 1000 in a vintage cj jeep it is a grueling race! We finished the 50th anniversary but dnf the next 2 races with overheating issues as well and cracked crank! There is the mint 400 that's in the states you guys should do if you want to get a shakedown of the jeep next time and then go back and conquer the Baja 1000!!!
As the saying goes "you guys got your ass handed to you." Still I think everyone gave it 110%. Win, loose, draw or crash & burn... there is nothing better than living your dream. Most enjoyable video on your channel. 💖
Great one Rudy and Janell. The filming AND editing was amazing 🤌 Fun while it lasted 😢. Now that you’ve done a small piece of it, the TEAM will go back and brainstorm the improvements needed for the Jeep and I’m betting this SAND MOUNTAIN OFF-ROAD TEAM will be back and FINISH the race👍🇺🇸
Hate to reiterate what everyone has said but seriously Rudy, this is the best video to date. I'm proud of you guys even getting as far as you did with all the obstacles you had. Can't wait for the vid next year!!! Thank you so much for the content. I truly look forward to every one of your videos.
You are right, the race is no joke. To take an untested rig there was really sporty. Ya’ll learned a lot and the team pulled together to stretch as far as you could. What an adventure.
It usually takes two or three attempts before you actually finish a Baja race. You keep trying and you’ll be hooked. The first time I met you in your dad’s shop, you were just building the Morrvair and I was returning to Washington from my race in Baja.
Having a beard is awesome! Just recently started watching your channel! I'm a derby freak and your dad's content is awesome so obviously yours is gonna be great too! As far as beard goes, it's yours, do anything and everything with it! You are blessed!😂 POUNDTOWN NATION ILLINOIS!
If I were to have seen an ad saying "baja 1000 video" I probably would have skipped it. But because it was Rudy, I stuck it out and Boy, am I glad I did. That was very nicely produced video Rudy. I wish the results were different but it looked like you guys had a lot of fun. I enjoyed the video so much that when the guys said good-by, I felt the emotion as if I were right there with them.
This seems like the Iron Man of motorsports. Winning the darn thing probably takes a budget of millions. But finishing the BAJA 1000 in a vehicle you built yourself has to be one of the greatest feelings of a lifetime. Great video, you learned a lot so hopefully you can eliminate those issues and try again next year!
There’s a multitude of classes so the lower class guys maybe not but the overall winner is sponsored by Red Bull and is in a million dollar trophy truck haha
Rudy this is by far your best video the quality of getting to watch the drivers work through the problems is awesome. You did great putting this vid together. I will co drive with u i absolutely am qualified.
This is the epitome of Rudy's Adventure and Design -- you met the name perfectly! Its been a wonderful treat watching you grow from your dad's channel into your own man! Thank you so much to you and Janelle for sharing your lives! I look forward to seeing Janelle start her racing career! Good luck you two!!
Hey, I know that local that was helping you when you ran out of fuel. His name is Alex. We've spent many of days in baja together with our families. Good dude
I would have loved to have seen Rudy drive! But that's the Baja 1000. It's a huge accomplishment just to finish it. I've seen amazing fabricators build incredible vehicles, take them to Baja and break down in 15 minutes, permanently. Looks like you had a great crew. Who built a great vehicle. I say do it again next year!!
I have to admit, when I saw this video was over an hour long, I was going to skip it. BUT.... Because I have always had a fascination with the Baja 1000 (and Paris Dakar Rally) I said lets see what this is about. Hands down your best video yet! I was hooked and would have watched another hour of it. Sorry you guys didn't even last one day but honestly, many new teams go through this. Now you know what to focus on to repair the Jeep. Get out and do some more local events. Fine tune it and get back out there next year with one goal... make it to the end. It doesn't make a difference where you wind up in placing or how many hours behind you are, just make it to the end. I look forward to seeing the future progress of this.
Thanks for taking us with you Rudy ! ,,, Anyone who know anything about the Baja Race knows it breaks vehicles !! .. Next time your team will be better prepared and have some experiance under your belts. I really enjoyed this one 🚙❤👍
You guys should all be incredibly proud of yourselves. There is nothing wrong with pulling out of a race before serious damage or injury occurs. Good job!
Really makes you impressed at how much those top trophy trucks can take. A great effort still sucks though 😢. I followed a small teams effort some years ago a really cool build you guys did better then they did I’m not sure they were able to start the race! The guy at the end was funny 😂
Since you guys are based out of Utah check out the Bonneville Off-road series! It’s a desert racing series with most races in utah (wendover, knolls, and vernal) also with races in Nevada and western Colorado! It’s a small series that’s absolutely mint for getting seat time. I’ve raced it for years in a class one car and our jeepspeed unlimited truck(it’s how I learned the ropes when I first started). I think it would be great for your team! Keep up the great work and best of luck
I raced SCORE and BITD for years and only DNF once. The goal is to finish. The position is nice but the finish is huge! Great job. Huge learning curve!
Oh you know he learned some much deserved experience and will come next time with a rig that he built or upgraded that will be suffice and hopefully he will atleast finish...🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️😁😁
That was awesome to watch,,,, especially the view face the driver and co-driver.... but yeah,,,, several break downs and noticing further damage was the time to pull the plug.... oh and nice editing on this episode.... This was a "Rudy's Adventure"
For the first attempt you guys did great! It’s not the Baja 1000 for nothing. It’s a brutal test of man and machine! You all can out with wisdom and the ability to try again! Enjoyed the video a lot. Being from stg and growing up in the desert racing anything I could down the AZ Strip I’ve always wanted to try the Baja race!
Oh my goodness this race is a vehicle terror. Speed over all those bumps is just horrific on every part of the jeep. Y’all learned a lot and really did as best you could. Was fun to watch. Maybe get ready for ‘24 or ‘25
Barstow to Vegas is a good race you guys should try, there’s also a lot of races in that area that are similar terrain that would be good for you guys to try. Any SCORE races really. At least you guys got a taste of what’s to come if you decide to pursue this endeavor.
first thing you need to do at 0:10 is show us that K5 real quick that's behind you -- saw comments on hair... partner up with the mil hair gel lady on that
Btw, The video production of this was incredible. The in the vehicle race video and audio? Was top notch. I don't know if you pulled your resources with editing and filming or whatever. This was a fantastic video and produced incredibly well. And I bet you still have sand everywhere and in everything just like back home! 😅😊
Bummer! Sucks about the overheating! Loved the race footage! It's great to see authentic footage and not just highlights like everyone else. That grille looks awfully narrow for the amount of air it needs to flow. Hit up the editor of The Autopian, David Tracy. He was a cooling system engineer for Jeep in a previous life.
What an awesome adventure that was. You should all be proud of yourselves for that build surviving almost 100 miles of baja with almost no shakedown time. Looking forward to seeing where all this goes...God bless!
Love the video!!! We were down there for the race. We have a house down south of San Felipe. Happy to help out if you guys need support down there!! Reach out
Wow what a great video, thank you Rudy and Crew. Yeah racing is tough that second guy that was driving was kickin ass man. Well hey work out the kinks and I really think you all will do well next year. Try to do more Pre running and test driving before you go next year. Thanks for the video guy's can't wait for the next one.
you guys live in the best proving grounds. cant believe you didnt get the bugs shaken out. better luck next year, really enjoyed this video, it was awesome!
Top notch video, enjoyed every minute! Sorry you had to pull out of the race early, but that was a fantastic run for your 1st effort, with the machine built in just 6 months! Video content, editing, and action was just gripping! Loved it!

Cool stuff guys . Defo think downfall was a major lack of testing the Jeep . Don’t think you can do too much . In the 80s we built a Group A Skoda for national rally championship. Once built . Sorry you guys had problems but the experience and friendship you all have is great. Just being able to do this must have been unbelievable. I will be definitely following you for a long time. Good luck in all you future endeavors.
Wow; what a trip, running the BAJA 1000 !!! Sorry y'all's rig broke down, but, I would imagine it would take at least a few months of testing a rig to work out the bugs so it would finish that course. Just glad everyones OK and the rig is still repairable. Hope y'all can all have the opportunity it try it again someday. Great video !!!

Rudy, that was your best video ever and you even kept up the family tradition of running out of gas.
That's hilarious 😂

You know how to make a small fortune in offroad racing?
Start with a big fortune!
Many men have become moderately rich from racing, they were billionaires when they started....
