Lia and Lucy Block Race the Baja 1000, for the first time EVER in a Can-Am Maverick R

- The Baja 1000 is incredibly tough, unforgiving, and has a steep learning curve - perfect for us to attempt for our first time ever, right? Can-Am Offroad gave us an incredible opportunity to race here in a Maverick R last November, and we couldn’t say no. We called it Project 43: in memory of Ken Block, the whole reason we even considered doing this race.
It was an adventure, to say the least. So we made this mini-doc about the journey. We hope you enjoy it!

Man, with the whole mass exodus going on at Hoonigan, Its great to know that the legacy of Ken is still burning white hot. Godspeed Lia snd Blockhouse Racing.

Would be interesting to get a Block family take on Hoonigan and the big changes.
Do you know if they have to reduce the size of the team because sponsors may have left?
Ken Block was the reason why they all financed Hoonigan ! Nothing against the family, they are doing amazing, especially after tragic events. But maybe this is an obligation, a common decision. Unless there is more public information, I wouldn't necessarily judge the people involved.
I really hope the world embraces Lia like the world did Ken and she keeps strving to be as good as her dad was. She has the talent she could if she really wants it

Well, let's be fair. She got famous thanks to her dad, but her dad built his career over decades.
So expecting her to be at his level of success at the moment is really asking too much ! She needs to grow up as a healthy teenager, become a young woman, become a great sister for her younger siblings, etc... She has a lot on her plate for a young woman of her age. Let's just be patient and not put expectations on her.
What matters in the end is that she grows the way she intends to.
@fabr5747 very fair point and i agree. Absolutely want her to be happy more than keeping all the fans happy. Can still hope it works out that way cause itd be awesome but totally ok if she doesnt. I guess thats part of the fun and the journey to see where it goes :)
As someone who has watched you all for years, starting with just Ken when it was just Ken, the kids really won the lottery twice with you Lucy. To have Ken as a dad is a once in a lifetime event, but then to have a mom who is just as bad ass, is amazing. Things might have ended with Ken if not for what you two created and built
It is awesome to see the Block family out there having fun. It will also be a pleasure to watch the racing world learn what Lia can do! You've got a bright future girl! Looking forward to seeing more of Block House Racing!
My daughter is 8 so I know how proud Ken is. He will forever be by your side, especially when you’re sideways.

I hold massive respect for the entire Block family, from Lucy for being an amazing mother and driver, to Lia for pushing her limits, making it into F1 academy and winning not only rally, but also Baja 1000! And to Mika and Kira, for your dedication to UTV racing. You guys are an inspiration to, not only me, but a generation of racing drivers. Keep pushing it!

As the sun set for Ken, it is nice to see Kira and Lia grow in their own right and show two things a great team can help win races and that family wins hearts. I am excited to see what they do in the future! Block House Racing where family overcomes adversity!

Good for the Missus! I too lost my wife a few yrs back, much earlier than I ever thought I would. I never imagined it but , life has its own destiny. I take inspiration from his wife and this video , not only carrying on, but for truly engaging and enjoying what she's doing.
A beautiful woman and her family keeping it all together. Thats a pretty awesome heartwarming thing.
In my own way, After 4 yrs, I took my Wife's Lil Toyota and decided to off road it up, always with her in the back of my mind. So far it's brings me solace and in a way peacefully connected, I talk to her often when wrenching & driving.
The Toyota people seem to love it, everywhere I go people give me thumbs up..From hard core to novices..people smile and This video, and the women's smiles remind me of my own👍

Ken got me into watching rally racing and all the activity that he was doing during the pandemic. Glad the block family is continuing the legacy and building a new era. My heart is full. Ken was to racing/extreme sports kind of what Steve Irwin was to nature. Losing him created ripples across the human spectrum. To see you all so brave and excited and willing to pick up the mantle and carry forward is amazing. It comes with a cost. It is a burden. Lucy, I’m so glad to see you show your children that if you work hard at what you love then you will be happy in life. At 46 I wished I would have done something with cars in my life. Yeah I make really good money, live by the beach in Florida but it’s because my high position at work. Instead of running a large division I would rather be working on cars daily. I have my toys but work comes first or I don’t have my toys. Your Husband and you Lucy inspired me to make a change in my life. Thank you.

It wasent only someone in my life that passed on,but there were 3 other very heavy things,so its been hard to even pick my head up far enoughf,to look out the window.

I love this, such a strong family, much love. Ken block has been my hero and inspiration for every thing I do in life since I was really little, about 3 years old. I looked up to him as my superhero, and also a positive male role model bc I never had one. My dream is to be creative and follow my passion and I will do anything to be apart of racing. KB43ever❤️

The entire Team did absolutely amazing, Great drive by all. Shame about the suspension damage but that Maverick R looked to be taking the punishment extremely well. The suspension definitely got worked. Well Done BHR!
