    Today we’re going to talk about vitamin D toxicity and the signs you’re taking too much vitamin D.
    It’s important to keep in mind that the dangers of vitamin D deficiency outweigh the dangers of getting too much vitamin D. It’s also very difficult to overdose on vitamin D.
    Vitamin D works with other factors that support its function and absorption. Certain amounts of vitamin D can potentially have side effects but can be made safe by adjusting the cofactors.
    Magnesium and vitamin K2 are the main cofactors that help keep higher levels of vitamin D from becoming toxic. It’s also important to drink plenty of water.
    The side effects of vitamin D toxicity typically start to occur when a person is consuming hundreds of thousands of international units (IU) of vitamin D for many weeks.
    The #1 sign of vitamin D overdose:
    • Calcification
    Other signs of vitamin D overdose:
    • Kidney stones
    • Nerve symptoms (numbness, pain, or tingling)
    • Excessive thirst
    • Excessive urination
    In my opinion, it seems that many cases of vitamin D toxicity occur because of a person consuming too much vitamin D2-not vitamin D3.
    There are some big differences between vitamin D2 and vitamin D3. I also don’t think people will see the same benefits after taking vitamin D2 that they would if they took vitamin D3.
    A few things you need to know about vitamin D2:
    • It’s not as effective as D3
    • It’s not as bioavailable as D3
    • It’s not as studied as D3
    • It doesn’t help prevent fractures like D3 can
    • It does help reverse rickets (in infants)
    • It has a different effect on depression than D3
    • It doesn’t affect the immune system like D3 can

      I wondered this. Dr Berg you regularly recommend 30-40,000 IU a day for autoimmune conditions...that would put one in the 210,000 IU per week area? How long should you take these daily amounts for?

    My doctor prescribed 50,000 D2 for me about 10 years ago, which didn't help me. I researched and found out D3 was better. I let my doctor know that she prescribed the wrong one and that I was taking the better version D3 (which I still take to this day). She just shrugged. That was my last time seeing her. Always do your research.

    My husband was going to the VA for his medical treatment. I was always suspicious about the level of care he was getting, so I started going with him. The day that the female NP who was supposed to be taking care of him prescribed 50,000 international units of vitamin D2 in one dose for him I let her know clearly that that was not right. I told her D3 was the kind we needed to take and it needed to be balanced with K2 and magnesium. She threw such fit you can't even imagine! She stormed out of the room, back in, out again, slammed some drawers and some doors and then screamed at me that I wasn't a doctor and I didn't know anything and what made me think I had a right to prescribe medicine! That was the day he quit going to the VA, and I went looking for other medical help. Apparently that is the standard dose the military prescribes for all its people who happened to have a vitamin D deficiency. It really opened my eyes to the dangers of letting anybody have control over your body. And it really made me highly suspicious of how the military machine treats our wonderful men and women in uniform

      I noticed that reg family physicians have no knowledge of vitamin d3 and other vitamins. The only thing they know is to push big pharma drugs for the pharmecutical cartel. Disgusting!

      Agree with you. We had bad experience with VA hospital, they don’t care about your health and well being. The doctors and nurse there are the worst!

    I'm a young guy, 23 years old. I use a lot of my time inside, not getting nearly enough sun light. I had a blood test done, because I was feeling very depressed, and my blood came back with dangerously low levels of vitamin D. I now have to take supplements for the rest of my life, but they have had a significant impact on my health. My sun rash is gone, my skin is looking better and my depressive thoughts have subsided substantially. Mind you everything else from my blood test was tip top, so it is absolutely mind blowing how just a low level of vitamin D, can have such massive negative impact on the body.
    Edit: Also, I'm from Scandinavia. It is very dark here most of the year, with limited sunlight hours. A lot of scandinavians actually suffer from low levels of vitamin D, and I would encourage any fellow scandi boys/girls to get it checked, if they haven't already.

      I'm 70. I found out in about 1978 that taking d3 can kick the blues down the road. It can also take swelling out of your legs. For swelling I would take d3 then drink water and lie down . In a few hours the tightness and heavy legs were gone. I was about 120 lbs so no I didn't weight too much . I just swell in hot weather.

      Well, I got a pop-up advert for Dr Berg's own brand Vitamin D3 right under the video! So, he is selling something. That's not to say he isn't talking sense or is wrong in any way but he's definitely selling something.

    I've been taking 5k everyday for a month. My levels were at 17 and I had severe brain fog along with sleep apnea. I had 5 doctor visits and it wasn't until my 5th visit where my D3 levels were checked. UNBELIEVABLE! Thanks again Dr.Berg.

      @SiddHealth I use a CPAP machine now because I have a big tongue but I have slept much better even without using it. I also take B1, B12, and Omega-3 to make sure I get all the essentials in.

      Got my wife entirely off meds and reversed her bone decalcification. They never said anything about D2 vs D3 or checked her levels but they prescribed calcium and D2 for her ostio problems. She was eating kale so was getting a little K2 but not D3. She is dark and wasn't getting any sun due to her Meds making her skin sensitive to UV. Then her thyroid blew up. They didn't test for Iodine. We finally gave up and now I'm her autodidact naturopath with help from Dr. Berg and other internet sources. Next I'm going to introduce us to NAC supplementation. Her eye doctor was shocked at her eye health at 71. We seem to be reversing some of the aging done by rancid vegetable oils. Since eliminating all refined seeds oils from our diet our inflammation has totally been eliminated. Healing will take years though but at least we have halted the damage.

    A warning, get your levels checked. Most people are deficient in Vit D, which can cause many diseases and problems. It is the sunshine vitiman. Most people who died from covid at the start of the pandemic were vit D deficient. Get your levels checked by your personal doctor. the chances are the average person needs more Vit D3. I used to get colds and flus all the time, but after getting my blood tested 5 years ago and was found to be defienct, the doctor gave me an extremely high dose for a couple of weeks, and now I take 5,000 units daily. Still no more colds or flus. I did not take any of vaccines or boosters and I am not on any other prescription meds. Take back control over your health. That is why blood tests for your vit and mineral levels are so important. Learn how your body works so you can make informed decisons about what to put into it.

      @@Topdealmaker yes, although you may need to make adjustments up or down. Listen to your body. Just turned 71 and have taken supplements most of my life. No major illnesses, on no medication. Think; what did people do for millenia before pharmaceuticals?

      I had to ask TWICE for a vit D level ordered. She didn't include it in the initial blood work! And then when the results came back; they didn't want to tell me the level! (Why???) Demanded it, and it was 40, the low end of normal.

    I've supplemented 20k - 25k IUs of Vitamin D (and K2) daily for fifteen or more years. No side-effects. Perfectly healthy at 66.
    Let's remember; in our natural, sunny tropical - equatorial environment, in our natural state (much less clothing), our skin would produce 20k IUs of Vitamin D in less than half an hour!
    That strongly suggests our optimal daily intake must be many tens of thousands of IUs. And, when you consider that we have Vitamin D receptors on every bodily system, you understand why we need significant amounts of Vitamin D to function healthily - and likely to stave off degenerative disease.

      That's a lot. I've been taking 4000iuD3 +K2 + c + zinc + Quercetin for 3 years. Unjabbed and never had covid or any illness in that time. This video sounds like trying to scare people off vit D3 because it gives you a strong immune system. A large dose is good if you are initially deficient but 20K+ seems a lot to me, you have to take a lot of vit K to balance that. Get your levels checked at a doctor and read up on the amount of K you need.

      @@susiewood5329 20,000 IU probably isn't enough for optimal health. Every system in your body has a vitamin-D receptor. And, to repeat, just half an hour in moderate summer sunshine equates to 20,000 IU.

    Just started taking D3 and it's made a huge difference for me. I'm happier, less stiffness despite eating foods that I'm allergic to, overall well being has been better. Taking around sixteen (25mg) per day D3 with one K2. I am not as tired, as well.

      25mg?? The unit mg means milligram. I think what you mean is microgram, which is written as µg. 16 times 25µg = 400µg = 16.000 IU.
      "one K2": How much µg does it contain?

    I started on vit D3 plus K2 supplements after watching this channel. And I do feel a difference - less fatigue and better sleep - both of which are enormously significant to one's well-being. We do not get enough sunlight anymore due to lifestyles and job commitments. We hardly walk but get all tasks done by driving around. Rarely if ever by walking around. With the good, beneficial benefits of natural sunlight. Reality of today's lifestyles.

      You should take these at different times not together. They use the same receptor.
      K2 needs to be dosed accordingly to how much D you're taking.

      Will taking BOTH Vitamins D3 and K2 SEPARATELY be More Effective for one's health and body?
      I personally have been on Vitamin D3 5K IUs Daily for Decades and have Switched to a Vitamin D3 WITH K2 Supplement for about a year and a half now.
      Also, Your Separate Dosage of Vitamin K2 is QUADRUPLE the Dosage (200 mcg K2 for 5K IUs Vitamin D3 / 400 mcg K2 for 10K IUs Vitamin D3) Versus what is being Dosed Together (50 mcg K2 for 5K IUs Vitamin D3 / 100 mcg K2 for 10K IUs Vitamin D3).
      So Is MORE Dosage of Vitamin K2 Better and More Effective for one's health and body?

    🤔Well this makes complete sense to me. I was one of those patients that was prescribed the 50,000IU of D2 once weekly. My blood kept being drawn but my numbers kept staying low. The very first time it was 7! It never went up much more, only to 12 with 6 months of the dosages. I kept feeling worse. I stopped going to that doc (more than just because of that reason tho😳) & started taking D3 with K2 and gradually started feeling better. As I’ve stated before I recently added B1 (after watching Dr. B video on it) & I feel like I am FINALLY starting to slowly but surely get better. Just this week I’ve been able to start back exercising regularly without exercising one day & bedridden the next several. I’ve actually done 5 days in a row plus during stormy weather, which I could absolutely not of done before! So I’m still on a wing & a prayer here but I’m flying again at least. Will I be able to soar again? Idk, but I sure want to!

      @@tomunderwood4283 every time in recent years that I’ve consumed those, I get so sick afterwards (lightheaded, heart races, slightly lethargic). I used to love liver & onions. Years ago I made it regularly until cholesterol issues. I also used to take a supplement (a liquid, can’t think of name rn) that had cod liver oil in it, but I can’t take it anymore either. Idk why? Same with turmeric, ginger & some other things I used to be able to consume but no longer can. Fibromyalgia does some crazy stuff to the body! My gut is sooo much better now than it was a few years ago. Foods finally stay in my gut now long enough to absorb nutrients. In 2019, that was not the case at all! I felt like I was dying & every doctor I went to was not helping me. I just kept getting worse! I finally started going to a holistic specialist & got online researching everything I could get my brain to delve into, and now I’m listening to my body & getting so much better.
      Btw I do take vitamin A & iron in a multivitamin that I take daily.

    I had to beg my doctor to check my vitamin D levels. I'm and older black woman living in Seattle. Mine came back at 13.6. It apparently freaked him out enough to send me an urgent message. I just happened to be in the office for a visit with the foot doc. My doc is like I've never had a patient with a level that low ever. I knew it was low but not that low. When he asked for a reason I said everyone with melanin in Washington should be tested, then corrected it to just everyone in Washington, even those that live and work in Eastern Washington especially during the winter months.

      My level was 6! I was sleeping 18 hours a day, extreemly depressed, severe headaches, I take 50,000 weekly now for the last 10 years my levels are about 17 for the passed 7 years. I cant do sun because I am at risk for cancer. I had it once

      Interesting! I guess the melanin prevents the Vitamin D absorption from sunshine. Never realized that! I moved to Oregon from sunny So Cal, so I started taking Vit D3, but now I tell all my friends, but particularly Latino and Black that they are more vulnerable to lower levels than whitey-me.

      I'm in bham Washington. My Dr said 5 years ago the sun isn't enough in our state. Shebsaid take 2000iu, but inwas already taking 2000iu d3, and I was 23. So I started 5000iu, still low. Beged Dr to take my d levels again. She said everyone is low and medical won't cover it just take. D. So I went through ultalabs. Bought my own online. I was still low taking 10000iu d3 from Dr. Best brand. Now I take 10000iu morning and 5000iu night. I will buy my own blood lab again. I'm in my chart as high anxiety and hypochondriac. Dr's play God. I'm 40 mother of 5 and white. Doctors do not care about preventing just about get sick and pop pills. I'll pray for u.

      My niece is a primary care doctor in Massachusetts. While she was still attending Columbia medical School in New York City in 2009, I impressed on her the importance of vitamin D based on my own experience. I got the expected eyeroll. She's completely turned around now and vitamin D deficiency is the first thing she suspects in a lot of her patients.
      The downside is she's not going to get a diagnostic fee for a diagnosis where the cure costs $10 a month with no prescription or specialist referral. She's getting increasingly frustrated with how the system is not working.

    My pharmacist told me that I should take my D3 with a fatty food meal. I've been taking 5,000 IU of D3 every day since 1999 and have NEVER gotten the seasonal flu since.

    I get my D3 from early morning sunshine while tending my garden before I started working at 11:30, and my D3 score is within range. Thank you Dr. Berg for giving me a better understanding about my health. My pcp really does not explained these stuff other than just prescribing medication, running test, etc.

      It depends a lot on your skin color and age, too. The lighter your skin, the better your skin converts sunlight into vitamin d3. Also, your ability to convert sunlight decreases as you get older. By the time you hit about 70 years old, you've lost 75% of your ability to convert sunlight.

    Magnesium and vitamin K2 are the main cofactors that help keep higher levels of vitamin D from becoming toxic. It’s also important to drink plenty of water.
    The #1 sign of vitamin D overdose:
    • Calcification
    Other signs of vitamin D overdose:
    • Kidney stones
    • Nerve symptoms (numbness, pain, or tingling)
    • Excessive thirst
    • Excessive urination
    In my opinion, it seems that many cases of vitamin D toxicity occur because of a person consuming too much vitamin D2-not vitamin D3.
    There are some big differences between vitamin D2 and vitamin D3. I also don’t think people will see the same benefits after taking vitamin D2 that they would if they took vitamin D3.
    A few things you need to know about vitamin D2:
    • It’s not as effective as D3
    • It’s not as bioavailable as D3
    • It’s not as studied as D3
    • It doesn’t help prevent fractures like D3 can
    • It does help reverse rickets (in infants)
    • It has a different effect on depression than D3
    • It doesn’t affect the immune system like D3 can

    This is mind-blowing, Dr. Berg. I'm recently trying to get off of topical steroid cream, and was having "TSW" (Topical Steroid Withdrawal) which is the worst thing anyone can go through. I' m taking 20,000 iu/day now, and I'm still red and itchy from my skin's blood vessels constricting. This is what the reaction people have that keeps them on it. Now that I know D3 acts like cortisol, this is life changing. It's only been a few days, but my skin isn't cracking ad oozing like it does by now. Please do a study on this and get the message out there!

    I did this. I figured it out myself finally and quit all but 600 iu. It’s good now. When you’re older with a few things wrong with you, it’s hard to know what you’re doing wrong.

    I was only taking 400 IUs of vitamin D3 when I had to have a breast biopsy that turned out to be benign calcification, but I was taking 1000 mg of calcium as prescribed for post menopause. I then stopped taking supplemental calcium and upped my D3 and K2.

    My MD was shocked at my daily 10k iu dose which I’ve been taking for several years (I’m mainly indoors year round). Had my levels checked: 56ng/dL (w/in normal range). Without this dose I don’t think I’d even hit 25 or 30ng/dL. My bone density is great for my age group, too. I refuse to take prescription supplements such as Boniva (causes MORE fractures in women!) but use the following bone health regimen, instead:
    5,000iu D3/mk7/k2 combo pill (2 x per day)
    50mg Zinc (2 x per day)
    600mg of powdered calcium in my morning coffee
    2-4L of fluids (water, tea, sugar free lemonade, bone broth, etc.)
    *Note: it’s important for women to know that even though bone density naturally decreases after age 30-35, you CAN change that decline. All those studies and charts show what happens if you do NOTHING to intervene. What is not often said, except by honest people such as Dr. Berg, is that proper supplementation, occasional weight bearing exercises, low blood glucose/insulin, a decent diet, reduced stress, and adequate sleep, can and DO significantly effect and increase bone density/flexibility. Right now about half of all women over 75yrs suffer serious fractures due to poor bone health from lack of accurate info and big pharm meds, many die from complications. But more and more younger women are affected each year. Please pass on Dr. Berg’s info to every woman you can.

      @@thestuff4321 Definitely important for both bone health and primary calcium regulators (Vitamin D and parathyroid hormone). A diet chronically deficient in magnesium is certainly considered a risk factor for osteoporosis, as are smoking, diabetes, certain pharmaceuticals, high alcohol intake, sedentary lifestyle, and the standard American diet. Again, chronic is the key word. The vital nature of this mineral to several body systems is also a very good reason to check vitamin and mineral levels annually, if possible.
      I did not include this in my personal bone health regimen as my magnesium levels are normal. My diet includes several mineral rich foods, such as bone broth, dark green leafy veg, almonds, etc., a very limited amount of processed foods, and none of the other osteoporosis risk factors I listed earlier. Please note, though, that taking too much magnesium has some unpleasant side effects. Acutely, too much Mg causes nausea, cramping, and diarrhea, and may even effect your blood pressure and the electrical activity of your heart. If you keep your Mg levels chronically high (provided you can tolerate the aforementioned side effects which worsen over time), you also risk bone mineralization defects. Unlike Vitamin D3 where you’d have to take upwards of 100k iu or more per day for weeks to experience side effects, it is important to know which vitamins and minerals have much narrower windows of safety - especially for those suffering with any degree of kidney or liver dysfunction.
      IMHO, supplement your diet with vitamins and minerals if you need to. But, first, assess your needs with a blood test. Then, arm yourself with complete and accurate information regarding your levels, why each is important, what you can do to improve them, and any limitations. Aside from all that, the easiest way to manage all the different nutrient a body needs is through an intentionally high quality diet; just ensure a daily intake that is highly nutrient rich while at the same time severely restricted in processed foods, sugars, alcohol, and (if at all possible) OTC/prescription pharmaceuticals.

      @@fatoumfatoumeh The need for supplements has very little to do with reaching certain age brackets. Think of it more like a tool we can use to fix suboptimal vitamin/mineral levels most often caused by certain risk factors, such as diet, smoking/drinking, stress, genetics, pharmaceuticals, activity levels, hormonal changes, chronic illness (such as diabetes, hypothyroidism, cancer, etc.), and so on. There really isn’t some general or generic age range at which men and women suddenly need to supplement. For instance, a sedentary uncontrolled diabetic in their early 20s is gonna have significantly worse labwork (therefore a greater need to supplement) than a relatively healthy individual in their 40s or 50s who exercises occasionally and keeps processed foods to a minimum. But that diabetic may have better vitamin/mineral levels than a strict (lifelong) vegan in their 30s with an ideal body mass index living in Seattle. I only noted bone density in relation to age since most MDs and RNs still subscribe to the outdated and disproven concept that bone health declines irreversibly after a bone density peak in the late 20’s to early 30’s, that pharmaceuticals are required to slow (not stop or reverse) the decline, and dangerous fractures are simply the price we all pay for reaching any age above 65 or 70. Plenty of research and anecdotal evidence is readily available that disproves those myths. Every person is different and risk factors change over time, as does the degree to which risk factors affect us. Nowadays, anytime over the age of 16 is a good time to begin assessing annual vitamin/mineral labwork.

    Dr Berg , it would really helpful to speak on the blood levels … I take 5000ius for years and my
    Blood level of D3 on my blood test is over 100 . Dr told me to readjust my dosage to get my level between 60 and 80

      I want to know the answer to this too. Me and my wife had been taking 5000iu for years now, and her recent blood test came back with her level around 80, and her doctor told her the same thing about adjusting her dosage. As far as me, I haven't my blood d3 levels checked yet.

    Yes sadly this happened to me by taking too high of a dose. I was ignorantly taking 50,000 IU when I should have been on 1000 iU daily. I started feeling really off, confused & extremely tired. That’s when I got a Vit D test & was high. Fortunately I’m still here to tell the story.

    Been taking around 4-6k since early in the pandemic in addition to zinc vitamin C, and some elderberry. Not only have I not caught covid, but my seasonal allergies have all but vanished. I've been on 6-8k for the past year or so, and going up to 8-10k if I've ever had a sore throat or been near someone sick. When I used to get a cold, it would last like a week or two, but since the vitamin D supplements it'll maybe only last 2-4 days.
    When you say D3 is vital for the immune system you're not kidding! It's literally changed my life for the better.

    Dr.Berg I'd request you to make a video about the diet during Dengue fever esp for people with low platelets & particularly G6PD deficiency cases. Actually it's widespread (Dengue fever) in our area ie Pakistan and there are a lot of myths among the community about using papaya and all that.

    I had toxicity taking only 5000 to 6000 IU’s/day which resulted in elevated liver enzymes. I was advised to reduce the IU’s to no more than 3000/day. After following my doctor’s advice for three months, a repeat liver enzyme check showed a reversal to normal liver enzyme levels. I will add, that I had also been taking the necessary co-factors you list.

      your high level may been due to a liver problem high liver enzymes liver issue or medication they can go up and back down or even be normal with liver disease even with end stage liver disease so i would not just blame the vitamin d matter fact if you have low vitamin d your liver could even be the cause for it and liver disease could be why you reached toxicity because your liver is not working right i been doing 50,000 iu every 2 weeks to once a month for almost 10 years if anything my level enzymes are on the low side most times anyways liver issues could be fatal if caught early the liver can regenerate just wanted to comment you can have your liver check in more detail Fibroscan - fibro test ect to help rule out liver issues

      Hi Rich, I am a CH sufferer too and currently trying the Vitamin D regimen. I am 1 month into it, still no results though I understand it might take a while before D3 levels get to the pain-free zone (or at least significant improvement).     I've been taking vit d2 for years since I discovered my level was 17. I had pain in my bones, falling out hair, dry cracking skin and teeth, depression among others. I take 50k a week. With in a month almost all my problems disappeared. I also take 5k vit d3 along w vit k2 daily. Hard to quit a good thing. But... I will monitor it, thanks.

    Dear Dr. Eric, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us and make our life better. I am very interested about the importance of vitamin D intake and its benefit as I live in the UK where unfortunately during the fall/winter (and not only) there isn't much sun light. On the top my immune system is also very week during the cold season, with the result of getting sick very often. I've been watching multiple videos of your about this topic and I only understood that the you recommend vitamin D3 with a 10 000IU dosage, alongside with the K2 and magnesium. My I still did't understand If you need to take it every day or not. How much and for how long. It would be great if someone could help please.

    Dr. Berg, fat soluble vitamin A is also an important co-factor. The Weston A. Price Foundation articles on vitamin D discuss this. This is one reason they recommend cod liver oil as the vitamin A to vitamin D ratio is around 5-10:1

    Hi Dr.Berg, My doctor was given 6 injections of Vitamin D3 of 6Lacs units per week for 6 weeks, because of that My level raised to 126ng/ml,then I was having nervous system symptoms as you mention, then i stopped it from last 4months , now I feel better level reach to 80ng/ml but my thyroid triggered. Vitamin D toxicity can cause thyroid issues. Also are vitamin D toxicity effects permanent ? Please help

      "Also are vitamin D toxicity effects permanent ? " No. Don't get any more injections, try 5,000 IU vitamin D3 oral dose with 100 mcg K2 and see where your levels are after a few months.

    My level was measured at 9 when I was younger. I had broken my hip around the same time. Been taking 10,000 IU per day for the past 6 years and now I am at 60.

    For months I was taking 40,000 to 50,000 iu. Of D3 per day for depression. Later on, when I had my blood checked I was told my D levels were in the normal range

    I was taking 10,000 IUs of Vit D3 for about 6 months. My bloodwork said I was toxic at >126. My doctor had me stop taking it and my levels dropped to 39 after 3 months. I am back on 5,000 IUs of Vit D3 daily and will monitor my levels. Thankfully, I was taking 90 mcg of K2 when i was in toxic range, so my calcium levels were normal.

    Thank You for the chart. Wish I had seen this chart while I was megadosing D3. (Lupus/MCTD and then Covid). Was listening to advice saying auto immune patients could take 200,000 and it would t move Vit D levels for months. I ended up in hospital for 6 days with hypercalcemia. Only treatment was saline drip.
    Easy to avoid. Get Vit D level tested.
    Kidney doc had no idea what K2 does. So frustrating. I was shamed for the entire stay. While being allowed to choose fettuccine Alfredo, milk, pudding, ice cream, cheese because I was on RENAL diet(no salt). Lol. I refused to allow them To give me heparin shot every day(interferes with K2) and they wouldn’t supplement K2 while I was there. My Vit D was over the Max limit of 600. Took 6 weeks of no supplementation to get it to 232.
    Get tested. Get tested. Get tested.

    I started/ changed my D3 dosage from 20,000 per week, to 40,000 per day, and then per your video 80,000 per day about one month ago. My trigger finger and morning inflammation disappeared in four days. Since then I am also taking 3200mg of Potassium Citrate per day. I am off of Allopurinol and Gout has not returned, my blood pressure is stable. I feel as though finally I am treating the cause and not the symptom. I visit with my Rheumatologist in a fortnight, and will be very interested in what he thinks. I have suffered for years, and had trigger finger surgery in 2014. Now looking back I could have treated trigger finger with vitamin D3. You really cannot imagine how grateful I am for your counsel. Sincerely, James

    I have been taking vitamin D3 + K2 for several years (plus zinc, magnesium).
    I started when the pandemic first emerged. I wanted to make sure my immune system was as strong as possible (I am now 79).
    I knew, of course, that normally we manufacture vitamin D in our skin with the action of sunlight.
    However, not much chance of that, muffled up in the winter - if we go out at all - in northern latitudes.
    I take 4000 IU a day, which is much higher than normal intake, but definitely well within safe limits.
    By the way, when you have an infection, your body uses up vitamin D in combatting it, so probably good to increase the dose a little to replace that.
