I know how to make Teemo more of a menace. He throws a mushroom somewhere, let’s say next to a dragon pit. If Teemo uses his E and runs on top of it, he should use it to bounce off of it.
Right? Like even as a Nasus main I'd much rather see a Teemo that I can E spam into oblivion than a Yone that can still one-combo me even when withered
if Teemo was released today, they would definitely have added his E to his passive, made Q apply the same dot, give his W the dash, and then give him a whole new E
@zaphrodbblbrx that doesn't exactly fit his kit though... what about keeping the shrooms, but increase their blast radius, and make them apply the damage and blind from Q (that would be disgusting tbh)
@@staren1991 Not a bad idea tho, mollusks and mushrooms has one of the most varied poisons in the world like some level of temporary blindness. besides the blind would be useless if most enemies are AP/AD casters.
No one plays teemo because how nerfed he become post "rework". Remember that both Q and R used to have a 1.0 Ap ratio and R used to stack damage, unlike now that only refresh the timer. This means that back in the day when Hp were around 2-3k hp, 2 "well" placed mushrooms could kill you if you were playing anything that wasnt a tank. Thats the reason of why teemo was so hated and why everyone stopped playing teemo after the nerfs.
you pay so much mana only for some of them to deal only a tiny fraction of its full potential cause of the 'reset/refresh' mechanic. Once somebody is low, you don't have enough mana to finish them off. But still very fun for URF tho.
They put most if his power in Q blind because RIOT hates fun. Literally the worst, most unfun to play against thing on the champ and they buffed it out of all things
If the rest of the team aside from ADC knew that they need a tank and still decided to lock in whatever they wanted, then I will ALSO lock in Teemo and build Heartsteel tank build on him. Tanky enough?
@@MagicIsNotRealWhoops not really since you dont have engage power like lets say shen, malphite or mundo. teemo is un reliable built as tank even if you can 1v2 fine, but you still play like your ranged..
As a top main, i always tell people who tell me to pick a tank this: If you wanted a tank, you could've picked one yourself. You picked whatever you wanted and so will i
@@UnspeakableFerret I believe a squishy champion top is fine when you're playing an anti carry! but Teemo and most other squishy top lanners fall off in team fights it only takes the team to throw down one good stun and your gone. With actual tanks and good bruisers its not game over for them when they take one stun and they can keep fighting or run away their choice either way a team need engage or someone to tank some stuns etc when bad obj calls or fights are made
so true, just like hidden support passive: collector, before 10 minutes all support champions have the collector passive allowing them to almost guarantee take the kill on enemy adc
I mean this champion effectively has 2 abillities and 3 passives(While new champions have 4 complex active abillites + 2-3 complex passives)... So that's that...
@@Jay9966 i don't think it would help because his damage would be nerfed. And if that happens, he will objectively be a worse quinn. Teemo strength comes from really high ranged dps. If he has actual peel then he loses definition
@@fantasticalthoughts Well maybe we move less towards short ranged high dps and more high mobility poke. Teemo is a versatile champ, nerfing some damage is okay if he gets something better in return. As it stands pure ap damage teemo is really hard to succeed with in teamfights and people that can tank a few shots and stick to you. which covers a lot of situations. Having a dash would make him better in more scenarios and if I have to sacrifice some damage for that, so be it.
he got nerfed more than 10 years ago, and has been getting buffed over the past 10 years due to dealing with censors which did not exist before, and people forget when he showed up once in worlds and they nerfed mushroom timer from 10 minutes to 5 minutes cause 10 minutes was half the game time and meant it lasted nearly entire game when placed...
@@palwatcher6903 Don't need to know how to. If you need ad, buy ad items, if you need ap, buy ap, if you wanna be tanky, buy tank items. He is versatile. But there are quite a few champs that can fuck him up in lane.
as a teemo main, I can see with 100% certainty, it never gets old. The thing about teemo is that he is macro heavy. Meaning that as long as you stick to macro you could play basically any role with any items. And, since teemo's damage is based on auto's and doesn't need to scale much, you don't have to fall off damage. You would be surprised how much damage a full tank teemo can do
Im a teemo player so I may be a bit biased but. His low playrate may have something to do with the fact that every toplaner these days has dashes, cc, damage despite building tanky, enough innate durability and sustain to ignore any kind of poke he can deal, has better waveclear, doesn’t have to worry about blind cuz they either have a way to wait out the timer or still deal enough damage to kill you with abilities, and also scales better. And even with all this toplane is still his BEST role.
Teemo supp is actually quite nice :D obviously not one of the best supps but blind max vs adcs in insane and his shrooms are a decent vision/zonr control tool
try him as support with full cdr. and nashor is optional. kinda different gameplay. but if u r main teemo u can use his mushroom to their full potential to control dragon. and south/east jungle. and thanks to the busrty nature of adc currently. ur q would be great to save ur adc. 3 sec all it takes.
As a Teemo player, I do it for the DoTs and the fun of proactively setting up traps in common engage/disengage paths. There's something incredibly satisfying about fade-away kills, or letting folks 'escape' you because you know you already mined out the direction they're headed and the kill is basically secured. The key is knowing those paths and adapting placement strategies to where a given enemy team seems to be focusing their energy. Plus sometimes just shrooming lanes so they can passively push.
This is definitely diabolical and a lot of fun but once senna gets umbral glaive or the enemy team gets more then two sweepers this strat is gone. I think his r should be like cait traps actively usable in fights becuz they arm quick. And then if they don’t get interacted with after 20 seconds then they stealth and increase activation range. Also leave behind a miasma like Cassiopeia to make a zone that damages
@@marquistf1996 If the enemy team is popping their sweepers shroom-checking rather than clearing wards, that's part of the job done in and of itself, and if they're doing it often, that's when I shift more shrooms to lane-defense. Even if people are too paranoid to walk in the usual paths, sweepers can't catch ALL of them, and the rest can really slow down anyone who might attempt to split-push a wave.
Every teemos favourite placement spot, the jungle gates in and out of the enemy base since chances are someone is going to go running through one at low health at some point and will just die to the shroom. Love doing it myself. Also nothing like facing an evelynn and watching her loose half her health to a shroom and need to base ontop of being revealed especially while setting up to contest objectives like dragon.
I actually really enjoy having Teemo as my toplaner when playing jungle, most of the people who do play him are 1 tricks, besides you don't need a frontline for an objective fight if your Teemo sets up around the area early with a lot of mushrooms making taking the obj so much less risky
The teemo hate is so weird. I think people are just following the crowd tbh. There’s so much other rage inducing crap in this game. Would you rather fight 6 item teemo or 3 item kayn? The question is rhetorical. There’s only one answer.
@@marquistf1996It's his identity that players created that Riot kept. That champ is already dead and I won't be surprised if they introduce a Teemo v2 soon.
I am so happy Vars you mention wild rift here. I would love to see your opinion on wild rift as a whole gameplay wise. From a game designer's point of view, how much of wild rifts differences to PC is beneficial to the longevity of the game or vice versa
@@icedacream true but you can go in depth in that field as well. You can talk how certain changes change how things work, look into which can work in PC if ported and altered to increase champion interactivity and skill ceilings. Like how much would karma's gameplay change if her iteration from WR was ported to PC.
Altho both are toxic, you can't compare the other version with Zhonyas boots, QSS boots, GA boots, Spell Shield boots, heal boots, shield boots, *AND GRAGAS ULT BOOTS* (except for the damage), you could be hugging your turret and just one hook you will be sent to their towers with the gragas/xin zhao ult boots(no kidding the map is so extra small but the skill ranges are all the same like blitz hook) It's made for sweaty duo try hards using emulators.
@@keithcalacday5255I don't really play wild rift but from what I remember the reworks were fine. It's just faster paced league that's easier to play like having healing fruit in lanes
Teemo was the reason I even started playing League. He still has a special place in my heart and I play him every now and then, in every role. I realized he is a decent jungler. And he works in mid too, at least in the elo I play in.
As a teemo main, he requires setup to get kills. Shrooming areas with high enemy movement traffic can set up kills easily. So hard shoving waves and then setting up shrooms in fog of war gives him a heavy advantage against most enemies. While liandries is a good mythic on him, he doesnt really need it. His shrooms were nerfed to simply be utility via slows. Rushing Blade of the Ruined King gives him much needed sustain, and then throwing riftmaker or rageblade into the build as your mythic gives you more dueling power. But I find going grasp into tankmo to be the most effective route in most games. The build I usually go is Berserker Greaves into BotRK (or Hullbreaker), into Titanic, into Rageblade. If you fully commit to simply splitpushing, Runaans and Deadmans as your last two items fully delete waves fast enough to pressure towers hard while giving you the movement speed and tankiness to get away once the enemy collapses on you. Teemo is one of a few champions that can itemize for most situations effectively, and can trick your enemy laner into building the wrong resists if you start with an ap focused starter item. If you are up against a team that relies heavily on healing, Liandries into Oblivion orb tends to be the best option in my personal opinion. Teemo really only wins games by drawing pressure and stalling out games so your allies can get their items, or by split pushing. He has a steep learning curve, because you need to know every matchup perfectly as well as know how to space effectively while paying attention to the enemy jungler's pathing. If you can make it to lvl 6 without dying, you should be able to fully control the toplane wave like no other champion can. If you die pre-6, you will have a very hard time against alot of the most common matchups. Remember, as a specialist, Teemo's job isnt necessarily to kill the enemy laner. As long as you can push them out of lane through residual damage, you are denying them experience and gold and that is a net gain. Getting kills is just a plus when it comes to gold, but has the downside of putting an early bounty on your head. Once you have you laner by the balls, you need to focus on shrooming the river to help your team control rift, and later, baron. Now for a few notable matchups: 1. Nasus: Ban him if you can. He WILL outscale you. No, you won't be able to effectively deal with him after he hits lvl 6 and it only gets worse the longer the game goes. He WILL run you down, its not a matter of if but when. 2. Malphite: If you dont go Grasp into this matchup, its going to be difficult. Tankmo will shove him out of lane and will take his tower pretty easily. Just make sure to let your team know when he leaves lane because he will become desperate. 3. Jax: Jax loves touching anything small, just like CookieLoL. He will crush you if he gets his hands on you. A Q max first will give you leeway to stay safer against him, but he will eventually outscale you if the game goes past 25 minutes as he is a better teamfighter. Knowing where to place your shrooms is vital in this matchup to allow you to space effectively if he jumps on you. Set those shrooms up in advance. 4. Illaoi: Dodge the damn E. Its that simple. Trade around that cooldown, and preferably take Grasp or Press the Attack. Phase Rush is also optional. 5. Akali: Again, dodge the damn E. Your spacing has to be top tier in this matchup or you will lose. And then your team will lose because there will be a rampaging Akali. You wont get help 99% of the time because she is a slippery bastard. So pick teemo into this if you want to suffer. 6. Garen/Darius: Probably the most common matchups. If you dont place your shrooms correctly, they will run you down. Its that simple. Work with your jungler to shut them down early. I recommend running phase rush into these two, and preferably ghost + Flash for kiting and rundown potential. Your main goal should be to make sure they dont get plating gold. 7: Gangplank: Grasp is a must or you will get poked out. Again, he will outscale you so work with the time you have. Play around level advantages and stack minions so your jungler can help you dive him early game when he is at his weakest. 8: Irelia: This will be a hard matchup. If you dont dodge her E, you will die. Every time. The enemy jungler will gank for her. So be prepared. Shroom under your tower to at least attempt to trade kills. Keep her away from the plates as well as you can and make her your team's problem later. Vamp Scepter and dorans shield is all she needs to make your poke worthless. Best route is just Q max. 9. Volibear: Q max and press the attack. He cant stun you that way and will take more than enough damage over short trades to make his life hell. I recommend Ghost and Flash to make him uninstall. 10. Mordekaiser: Again its all about spacing. Dodge the E. Once he has ult, run for your life. Use shrooms to keep the wave from crashing. Hopefully this helps new Teemo players and the people wanting to crush Teemo in their games. I will update the matchup list if people ask for specific matchups. Have a wonderful day.
I always felt teemos real strength is map control. The amount of vision the rodent gives me possibly game changing by itself, the fact that said wards do damage is a bonus.
Is why I prefer to play him as a support :x shuts down the adc, provides vision and map control, scales into a monster if they don't end before 25 mins or they feed me any kills. Noice.
Because champs like Teemo is outdated and all newly released champs are BROKEN with 2-3 dashes that resets every kills/attacks, omnivamp, invincibility, etc
@thugxheuer its more of a passive swap, his e is his passive and his stealth is connected to his e, which is like a micro dash. Its the same movement speed as walking and distance traveled, but it puts you in stealth when you combat roll
@@purpledabs yes I'm aware of it. There are features that don't work well in Wild Rift that's why Riot continues to innovate ways to make QOL "better". Teemo doesn't even feel like Teemo in WR 🥲
You say he hasn't been actively nerfed but I remember when his shrooms were an actual threat. Now they are just annoying and the worst thing about them is the slow and the way you can delay minion waves with them.
A thing I really like about Teemo is the objective pressure he can create with his shrooms . Dude can solo secure a dragon or a baron , that's very cool imo
These guys have clearly not played CDR shroom Teemo. It will take all 5 enemies having a sweeper to get from their base to a drake or baron fight without hitting multiple shrooms, and clearing shrooms will likely slow them down enough to just take the objective while they are trying to get to you. Shroom pressure late game is insane and forces 5 sweepers, and even then they will still be cursing you.
@@Anonymizer_uk Pop a scanner from the entry of your jungle from red top or blue before blue bot, will last till you are at baron , CDR teemo , good luck not being 0/30 and actually dealing any damage with your shooms over the magic resist that exist and the 1000 bubbles , you can have any tank or bruiser just walk over every single shroom and still hardly feel it. If it takes you 5 scanners to clear shrooms , it is not teemo being good , it is your team being beyond awful
Fun fact: Long before Wild Rift existed, there was a Teemo rework on PBE, which was Wild Rift Teemo for the most part (his W had no dash). But because player didn't like it, it never got shifted to the live server.
Your video does a very good job at demonstrating how old Teemo's animations and model is. The closer the camera gets to the ground the worse it got....
if teemo was released today his e would be his passive and it would also slow enemies by 5%, his Q would apply the passive, his W would have a 300 distance dash at the start and would refresh on kill, he would get a new E that has an infinitely stacking passive, and his ult would execute according to the infinitely stacking passive
I disagree on your assessment of his ult. If you have a charge when you engage and they decide to go in, plant one on a nearby enemy minion for an easy trigger. It has a substantial aoe that can disincentivitize people from engaging. And often early people misjudge the damage it does giving him a shocking amount of damage in full engages
Rework idea. His shrooms are swapped to an ability, then his R becomes an active ability that you press (even when dead) which "arms" the shrooms with more poison (aka damage) and makes them undetectable by scanner (however not completely , it shows the ! mark above the player so he knows a shroom is nearby he just cant destroy it and know where exactly)
I’ve very recently come to enjoy Teemo jungle. Mostly because I can ignore my teammates and focus on objectives and carry via dragon souls or baron fights in my shroomed up river
Teemo should have always been a jungler, as his theme and kit looks like its built specifically for damage over time on monsters, stealth ganks, and jungle control/scouting, rather than being a ranged top. Switch his and Yi’s positions, Yi should be the duelist in top.
I remember the mushroom rework, it was so good, it let me bounce mushrooms across the lane into the enemy laner if I didnt care too much about my wave control at that moment.
I love playing teemo, have him at smth like 200.000 Points. Recently got into Wild Rift bc i am traveling a lot. I actually really like what they did with him there! Poison is on passive, Q is normal, with W u go invisible for some time (instead of standing around), and his E is a dodge roll (like in Dark Souls) with an increasted movment speed afterwards. In my mind that errases most problems the champ has in league, really enjoy playing teemo assassin
I play Teemo exclusively as a support, which sort of mitigates a number of his problems, but really highlights a different one, Chemtech Rift. The giant area, rapid respawn sweeper plants serve to make Teemo support nearly unplayable in the matches that RNG dictates that the enemy team doesn't even need to buy a second red trinket. Teemo support in the later stages lives and dies purely off of setting up mushrooms as a series of extra spicy wards around important objectives, but if you don't practically walk into the enemy base on a suicide mission every minute you just lose all of your setup to plants. It's miserable, and while it effects Teemo regardless of position it's just one extra nail in the coffin.
@@xdesolateone8564 Well in this exact scenario I'M the support, and yes, I get red trinket because as Teemo, mushrooms are just spicy wards. The point is that Chemtech Drake's Rift variant actively screws over Teemo harder than any other champion in the game due to his ult being hard countered by the vision plants and being by far his most usable ability in the late game, and wether or not you get that rift is pure RNG that you don't get to know until 2 dragons are already down. Not only that but it screws you over regardless of which team is dominant in regards to the objectives
I always like to think that all existing punishments are exclusively targeted for Teemo (eg. ARAM) due to overwhelming complaints from him in the past, which obviously is the fun factor of the game.
a suggestion : you made videos about "new champs 200 years or good design ?" I'm not sure you've done it but...how about a review of those champs now that some time has passed ? I'd like to hear more about Gwen, Nilah and Bel veth ^^
Man we sure have come a loooooooong way back from the days when Teemo was almost universally and unequivocally considered *_"the most annoying/infuriating champion to play against"_* - times truly have changed, and the tiny mascot really hasn't kept up with the pace - now his just another champion on *_the long list of badly aged champions that just...... exist_*
I am a proud Teemo main… I only run maximum burn builds for my shrooms so I can inflict maximum mental damage on my enemies with guerrilla warfare tactics.
I totally get that, but tank teemo has a unique charm. People love to run up to him thinking it is an easy kill, then they run in horror as they realize they don't do damage to him.
Nah, it's the sadistic joy I get from the visible frustration I cause. My vast and lush neckbeard quivers in glee when I see salt in allchat. My necks vibrate from the bellylaugh I wheeze out when the angry slurs begin. The laugh intensifies to a pleghmatic cacophony, that makes my fedora fall, when I see that they leave.
"very high number of play styles" are you saying that because he can build attackspeed and ap? the fuck are you smoking, thats just two builds, his "play style" doesnt change.
@@ich3730 I play Teemo and it's very nice, you can take almost all runes in the game. Want to collect dark harvest like Pokemon? Go ahead. Poke with aery or comet, also viable. Sometimes fleet or phase rush comes in handy with dangerous opponents, so you become a slippery fuck. Lethal tempo against immobile, press the attack for short trades, grasp for more of a bruiser build...
My favorite is taking Warmogs Armor on Teemo. Turns him into a true rambo. Cause I dont need to kill my op if I can stay in lane longer and push towers more frequently. thus pulling enemies away from my allies to chase me. My Teemo strat is to waste enemy time and resources.
To make Teemo viable Change his auto-range from 500 to 550-575 His W now activate with a mini-dash (very small)(cannot jump over walls) and goes into stealth for 1-2 sec like Pyke. So he can activate his passive speed buff. I wonder if those change would make Teemo broken 🤔 EDIT : before i saw the end video with the dash. WOW lol
This would be a good start but honestly not enough. R needs to be an active ability not passive. like cait traps. Every other yordle has a good ult or a super ult. Teemo should be the same.
You either buff his range and keep current kit or give him the wild rift stuff but keep his current range, both at the same time would make him too annoying
Teemo is my #4 champ of all time, and i have to say that I enjoyed this updated video, as it far more accurately puts into words his problems. It's always frustrating when i tell people teemo is garbage, but they don't listen. There's a certain poin where you get in flash range with each auto, and become vulnerable to a ghostless darius or voli literally flashing on you at lv 3, and your own flash isnt enough of a disengage because they can slow/stun you to negate your W, and Q is only able to buy 1.5s (havent played in a month so forgive me if i got the duration wrong) at rank 1.
As an EX-LoL player I've always had a love-hate relationship with the game, mostly due to unfortunate timing. Every time I had found a new character and play style I enjoyed a change was rolled out that completely removed it from the game. When they introduced the ability to ban players from using certain characters I decided to never go back given how bad my luck had been. To this day the only build to survive all that was the Tankmo build. Using Frozen Mallet it made for a simple and reliable game play. I was surprised to hear a Tankmo build had been used in the championship. I will never return to LoL, but I'm glad to hear it still exists
Hey Vars, i really like that you're remaking your old "why no one plays" videos and i was wondering if you could look over kalista again, it's been 2 years since you uploaded it and a lot has changed about the game and she recently got a quite big buff. Oh and thank you for your great videos btw ! :)
Teeming is one of my most played champions in League and everything you've said is completely valid. He can become much more effective in neutral than just a poker with the cool down in q being so good but overall a slight change in kit would be completely fair. The change that was done in wild rift was suggested for main league but eventually scrapped, im unsure why this wasn't implemented as I think it was a wonderful change to keep the spirit of the champ while also updating them.
As Teemo main since Beta, I do agree, he needs some sort of disengage. Playing him for years I always felt exposed when going in. Move Quick just seems useless in the grand scheme of things, Teemo having a dash/roll would help a lot. Even professional players who main Teemo have to play him defensively, where you have to place your mushrooms ahead of time to guarantee and escape route. Because your blind dart will not save your ass, and this is true in the video. Unless you can poke effectively with your Blind Dart and toxic shot combo. Most of the time you have to save your blind dart for when they do close the gap. Hit and run strategies like Press the Attack or Summon Aery are your go to runes. Your secondary is purely optional on your playstyle. As Teemo has no range and I always argue he needs a bit more rage for his basic attacks, he gets decimated by Ryze, Darius, Mordikaiser, and Kasante for example. If they can mediate the damage or gap close you, its grey-screen. In team fights is where it gets interesting and with being able to throw your mushrooms into the fight, Teemo becomes essentially a grenadier. Throwing mushrooms in the thick of the fight becomes a huge psychological game as when those land, the damage will decimate the opposite side if they do not move, they have to disengage or its death by dot. Teemo is defiantly one champion that is hard to master, but once you do, everyone will start buying oracle scanners to find your mushrooms. When I Play ranked with him Teemo provides to the team with reconnaissance, essentially those mushrooms become wards or proximity mines, place them in front of Dragon or Nashor/Rift Herald. Teemo does what he says on the tin. He is a scout and information is key, to know where your enemy is at all times. Placing Mushrooms in key places is paramount as vision is essential. Eventually if the enemy team does not buy scanners or pink wards then they are at an information disadvantage.
We used to have runes & items with Dodge%. Those days TankTeemoTop™ was a very fun build. His inherent global taunt combined with 'blinding' people and making them chase you through a mushroom laden forest.. those halcyon days..
My brother in Bielzebub, this demon is in every game I play. Either feeding on my team, or if I go top he is against me. What do you mean, nobody plays ?
This video was written by someone that doesn't main Teemo. There's a big difference in most of these points between someone that plays Teemo and someone that mains Teemo.
@@marquistf1996 That's true. I just couldn't help mention this though being a Teemo main myself and knowing how to deal with most of the problems he was listing off that Teemo DOES have. But most of those problems can be worked around just by knowing the champ. Hell I even play Teemo mid and win a lot of unexpected match ups just because I play him so unorthodox. And if I get a lead the enemy team will never claim a dragon.
The only people that main teemo dont know how to play the game cause they either Auto lose lane Get a lead but lose anyway because teemo doesnt scale Crush really bad low elo players and win because of the skill gap, which doesnt make the player good in the beginning.
@@TomfooleryVAyou are one of the very few who's accustomed to playing Teemo and can play very well and I admire you for that. However, Teemo gameplay is not "constricted" to a certain high-level demographic like you who likes telling others they are not good at this which may be true at times. It goes for all, even for low elo. Remember, it's all about numbers.
I know I saw someone looking at a PTR version of Teemo that was great but that was about 2-3 years ago. Then when you told about the Wild Rift Teemo it hits me, that is where his PTR changes went.... But yes, I am a Teemo player whenever I can
as a teemo main i've been using it as tankmo, health/ap teemo. Ironsteel with Demonic Embrace mythical, then runes are Grasp and Blue Runes (storm and mana ring is the only thing I need to sustain) and Using Defensive Runes like double armor or double mag resist or hybrid depending enemy comp. This is how I mitigate what the video mentions due to the problem with range.
Teemp can't trade, but his trades are fantastic. He is a champion that forces you to all in. You can't just hit him a few times and back off because he wins the trade with piisons.
not a LOL player but hear me out just for theory crafting sake proposal : - make his ult only can have 3~5 in an given instant (earliest mushroom will disappear if placed a forth/sixth mushroom) - when triggered have a burst of medium ~ high (something significant enough) damage DOT within 2/3 sec, then cliff drop the damage to something neglectable or no more DOT - when the mushroom pops, it effect a medium size radius (like 2/3 of what he have now) - remove the slow or only slow when mushroom pops purpose: - trying to keep his identity for zoning - ult will act as deterrent for diving with low health - making the ult more pro-active to use - faster kill time - harder to kill someone far away (at least in theory) potential over sight: - making him over-powered XD - no time to react on the ult - making him more annoying to deal with - it is already an early version that was rejected or reworked on Idea just came to me after watching the vid, only have 30 minute to think on it, if there is something similar then i guess we think a like :D
Big oversight in this video was failing to mention the big nerfs he got as part of his "rework." This is why hes got so many buffs, because he was ruined
I find teemo does best after laning phase as a split pushing anti jungler. Place a bunch if shrooms in the enemies jungle as the wave pushes up, steal buffs, take towers when you can.
Yeah, Teemo into Evelynn can just be hilarious as one shroom and she looses her primary method of engage (her stealth) as well as, most likely, half her health.
i think you're missing the plot a litle bit on the zoner class and mixing it with an artillery mage. in boxing we have a concept called ring generalship. it's control over where and when the exchanges are taking place. zoning isn't the same as kiting, as poking from range. it is the control of space as a means to an end, and that doesn't always mean you want your enemy far away.

I know how to make Teemo more of a menace.
He throws a mushroom somewhere, let’s say next to a dragon pit. If Teemo uses his E and runs on top of it, he should use it to bounce off of it.
You know it's bad when you'd rather see Teemo in your game than *cough* Yone
And I say this as a top main
Right? Like even as a Nasus main I'd much rather see a Teemo that I can E spam into oblivion than a Yone that can still one-combo me even when withered
As a sion main, id way rather see teemo over an aatrox
bro i dont think anyone cares about facing a teemo since they graduated from bronze. he is just a useless champion. yone is def wayyy worse
I fear a Teemo on my team more than a Yone on their team
I rather fight yone than teemo.
Teemo isn't useful but he lives to ruin your game.
if Teemo was released today, they would definitely have added his E to his passive, made Q apply the same dot, give his W the dash, and then give him a whole new E
@zaphrodbblbrx that doesn't exactly fit his kit though... what about keeping the shrooms, but increase their blast radius, and make them apply the damage and blind from Q (that would be disgusting tbh)
@@staren1991 Not a bad idea tho, mollusks and mushrooms has one of the most varied poisons in the world like some level of temporary blindness. besides the blind would be useless if most enemies are AP/AD casters.
oh actually thats what happened on wild rift.
E dealing damage to target AoE, amplified on poisoned enemies.
His W would reset on kill and he also would get a stacking passive
No one plays teemo because how nerfed he become post "rework". Remember that both Q and R used to have a 1.0 Ap ratio and R used to stack damage, unlike now that only refresh the timer. This means that back in the day when Hp were around 2-3k hp, 2 "well" placed mushrooms could kill you if you were playing anything that wasnt a tank. Thats the reason of why teemo was so hated and why everyone stopped playing teemo after the nerfs.
I remember the tier3 shrooms with 600 base damage, it was glorious
you pay so much mana only for some of them to deal only a tiny fraction of its full potential cause of the 'reset/refresh' mechanic. Once somebody is low, you don't have enough mana to finish them off.
But still very fun for URF tho.
They put most if his power in Q blind because RIOT hates fun. Literally the worst, most unfun to play against thing on the champ and they buffed it out of all things

@@MagicIsNotRealWhoops not really since you dont have engage power like lets say shen, malphite or mundo.

If you wanted a tank, you could've picked one yourself.
But his e is one of the strongest passives in the game

@Jay9966 so irritating when playing against teemo on wr because of ability changes.
At least he is useless mid and late game

I think when his Ult became just a 'refresh' than stacking onto itself, where it all started.
he got nerfed more than 10 years ago, and has been getting buffed over the past 10 years due to dealing with censors which did not exist before, and people forget when he showed up once in worlds and they nerfed mushroom timer from 10 minutes to 5 minutes cause 10 minutes was half the game time and meant it lasted nearly entire game when placed...
I remember that nerf, it fucking sucked when it first happened but I understood it was way too good at the time for just warding.

Isn't he getting an ASU next year? Usually those lead to a short spike in playrate.
as a teemo main, I can see with 100% certainty, it never gets old. The thing about teemo is that he is macro heavy. Meaning that as long as you stick to macro you could play basically any role with any items. And, since teemo's damage is based on auto's and doesn't need to scale much, you don't have to fall off damage. You would be surprised how much damage a full tank teemo can do
I would love to see a video talk about different champions who got their kits changed in wild rift
For example: karma

He does mention it at 13:30 though?
and kassadin, along with lux, who just had a mini rework, and janna, who is abou to be kind of reworked. soraka, too
Im a teemo player so I may be a bit biased but. And even with all this toplane is still his BEST role.
its onyl his best role because he cant harass anyone else...
Teemo supp is actually quite nice :D obviously not one of the best supps but blind max vs adcs in insane and his shrooms are a decent vision/zonr control tool
@@qayxswedcrfv1 Yeah it's real nice... for the enemy team who picks a cc support
Let's not forget that most new top laners also can generate shields to eat his dmg like Camille, Ornn, K'sante, Sett, Mordekaiser (rework).
try him as support with full cdr. and nashor is optional. kinda different gameplay. but if u r main teemo u can use his mushroom to their full potential to control dragon. and south/east jungle. and thanks to the busrty nature of adc currently. ur q would be great to save ur adc.

Everyone gangsta till wild rift teemo-vayne invis dashes into your adc ass and bursts you down while blinded
Now for a few notable matchups:

Noice.
I think teemo in wild rift is a cool design for him. Giving him the tacticle roll on e/3rd ability is a nice touch

So thr enemy team has a total of 0 scanners that are free?
Literally a free item that usually 2-3 enemies get counters his ult completely. Such an op ult, wow.

Buy a second red trinket? Is your jg and sup not running oracle?
@@xdesolateone8564 I think you need to re-read what was written.

To make Teemo viable

It's always frustrating when i tell people teemo is garbage, but they don't listen. There's a certain poin where you get in flash range with each auto, and become vulnerable to a ghostless darius or voli literally flashing on you at lv 3, and your own flash isnt enough of a disengage because they can slow/stun you to negate your W, and Q is only able to buy 1.5s (havent played in a month so forgive me if i got the duration wrong) at rank 1.

To this day the only build to survive all that was the Tankmo build. Using Frozen Mallet it made for a simple and reliable game play. I was surprised to hear a Tankmo build had been used in the championship. I will never return to LoL, but I'm glad to hear it still exists
As teemo main i thank you you revisit him
Hey Vars, i really like that you're remaking your old "why no one plays" videos and i was wondering if you could look over kalista again, it's been 2 years since you uploaded it and a lot has changed about the game and she recently got a quite big buff.
I expected to find other fellow teemo mains arround. to point out he is forgetting that teemo has faced so many garens he mastered the bush tactics
Vault is less of a "get off me" tool and more of a "get me off you" tool
*Looks at the pick rate.*
*Looks up*
Never underestimate the power of the Scout's Code.
Its interesting how much his Play Style Changes in Wild Rift, there you have more initiative even if just a little bit.
My brother in Bielzebub, this demon is in every game I play.
Either feeding on my team, or if I go top he is against me.
What do you mean, nobody plays ?
I see many still underestimate the power of the Scout's Code...
This video was written by someone that doesn't main Teemo. There's a big difference in most of these points between someone that plays Teemo and someone that mains Teemo.
True but what can we expect. Teemo mains are few and far between
@@marquistf1996 That's true.
The only people that main teemo dont know how to play the game cause they either
Auto lose lane
Get a lead but lose anyway because teemo doesnt scale
Crush really bad low elo players and win because of the skill gap, which doesnt make the player good in the beginning.
@@Seanana_ Spoken like someone that doesn't understand Teemo
I know I saw someone looking at a PTR version of Teemo that was great but that was about 2-3 years ago. Then when you told about the Wild Rift Teemo it hits me, that is where his PTR changes went....
But yes, I am a Teemo player whenever I can
back then, teemo's mushroom was obnoxious because of its damage and slow
now, that role is replaced by shaco's box. has damage alongside hard cc
as a teemo main i've been using it as tankmo, health/ap teemo.
I'm a teemo main and had not put much thought on that. Though Wild Rift Teemo play awesome. I rather keep the true stealth and deadly mushroom.
Teemp can't trade, but his trades are fantastic. He is a champion that forces you to all in. You can't just hit him a few times and back off because he wins the trade with piisons.
And yet, in the last 5 games I've played, I saw 6 Teemos
Never knew wild rift had differences between kits, thought it was only visual. That's really cool!
not a LOL player but hear me out just for theory crafting sake
proposal :
- make his ult only can have 3~5 in an given instant (earliest mushroom will disappear if placed a forth/sixth mushroom)
- when triggered have a burst of medium ~ high (something significant enough) damage DOT within 2/3 sec, then cliff drop the damage to something neglectable or no more DOT
- when the mushroom pops, it effect a medium size radius (like 2/3 of what he have now)
- remove the slow or only slow when mushroom pops
purpose:
- trying to keep his identity for zoning
- ult will act as deterrent for diving with low health
- making the ult more pro-active to use
- faster kill time
- harder to kill someone far away (at least in theory)
potential over sight:
- making him over-powered XD
- no time to react on the ult
- making him more annoying to deal with
- it is already an early version that was rejected or reworked on
Idea just came to me after watching the vid, only have 30 minute to think on it, if there is something similar then i guess we think a like :D
Big oversight in this video was failing to mention the big nerfs he got as part of his "rework." This is why hes got so many buffs, because he was ruined
Does Tenmo Player not exist? Pianta played only Teemo to Challenger on PCE Server.
I find teemo does best after laning phase as a split pushing anti jungler. Place a bunch if shrooms in the enemies jungle as the wave pushes up, steal buffs, take towers when you can.
Yeah, Teemo into Evelynn can just be hilarious as one shroom and she looses her primary method of engage (her stealth) as well as, most likely, half her health.
do the same thing to control dragons. u will have more victories. shroom are aoe. more enemies will be going to dragons.
i think you're missing the plot a litle bit on the zoner class and mixing it with an artillery mage. in boxing we have a concept called ring generalship. it's control over where and when the exchanges are taking place. zoning isn't the same as kiting, as poking from range. it is the control of space as a means to an end, and that doesn't always mean you want your enemy far away.
