Nice review. The Tier-One mounts are on another level. Not only are they made from aerospace grade 7075-T6 aluminium, the way they're machined is unlike any other mount. Each ring is made from one single block of aluminium in one machining process, ensuring every critical surface is perfectly inline with the bore axis. Having visited the factory it's amazing to see. It's no wonder they're the scope mount of choice for the most elite special forces units in the world.
This is true to a degree . However at air gun ranges the tiny ammount of cant from a really good set of mounts is almost imperceivable . On a full bore rifle at extreme range maybe . Most HFT and FT shooters seem to be happy with sportsmatch . Tier one are used on many long range target rifles , many many vids on you tube showing their capabilities .
I have ordered sportsmatch dampa mounts. If these don't keep my scope on zero I will probably give up shooting. The problem i have is that i shoot an air rifle which means accuracy is essential. My rifle is very accurate but the mounts and the scopes just can't handle the recoil and won't hold zero.
BKL Mounts for me on all my rifles. Won't touch Sportsmatch even though they're British. They can't the scope like all other mounts and if you want to shoot accurately at distance without compensating with windage then BKL or Warne mounts are the way. Any mount which is fixed to the block at one side and free floats so it can be tightened on at the other side will never ever optically centre a scope to the bore without canting.

Good mounts and a good quality scope should cope easily with recoil
