I love this! I made one in pink for my doggy niece. I left out the underside panel and just added a piece of elastic to keep it closed underneath! Your tutorial is great and following it I was able to recreate this in a afternoon! Thank you so much!
You just have to measure your dog. Put the measuring tape around his belly in the middle and then measure from the place under his/her chin towards the middle of the belly.
Are there written instructions anywhere to print out so I can follow them at my sewing machine which is not near my computer? Wonderful video but I would need to run back & forth to view some of the steps as I work in another room. I love the elastic for the belly!! I knit & crochet sweaters for my little Havanese & make the belly tighter to keep it clean. We have had a very frigid winter in PA with single digit below zero temps & double digit below zero wind chills so I want a warm coat for him in those conditions. He isn't out long to do his business but I can tell that he feels the difference. I started making him a winter coat last year (my own pattern) but stopped for other things so I went back to it this year. But I had trouble on my machine with the thick fabric this time. I used quilted water resistant fabric for the outside & a soft fleece lining with batting between them for extra warmth. I used knit cuffs (made for human sleeves) as the front legs but I sewed them in by hand. I now only need to get the neckline, collar & hood on it but hope my machine can handle that part. Please let me know if you have written instructions somewhere, such as a website, that I can print. I'd love to make him a soft one like yours next. Thank you so much for your time & your wonderful video!!!
Hi, thanks for watching! No, sorry, but I make only videos, which is already very time consuming. Maybe you could watch the video on a phone that you could take to your sewing room? Please send hugs to your little fur-baby!
Any chance you could make a coat with a built-in lifting harness for older dogs? I'm trying to assist two dog's.. one's incontinent. Oh, and diapers for dog's would also be helpful. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🤟🇨🇦
@SewingLara whatever you feel noteworthy. I'm trying to make my own assistive devices and used to work with auto seat belts. I'm used to sewing strong safety webbing and think I may be able to assist, by making them myself while saving money. Any advice is appreciated. 🤟

Hello, my dear! That is so wonderful - thank you so much for letting me know and for your kind words!
How do I figure iut the measurements for the belly / chest piece?

One of the best dog coat video I have seen. It looks very expensive!
Aw, thanks! That made my day 🥰
